Question - i (US Citizen) applied for my wife CR1 visa and we in the process in NVC now and soon the case will go to Mumbai US consulate for interview, but she got denied (214b) in the past in 2015 for tourist visa twice when she was single and they did not gave her a specific answer why they denied , is it going to effect her interview in Mumbai India ?
@@chaiandcoaching Can you ask this question in next visa officer interview ? its been 7 years and it was a tourist visa ? and still impacts because now she is immigrating.
Visa officer refused after saying i can understand why do you want to go to the United States but our visa policy is very strict . Can you please explain is this any problem with man documents.
Denied for a visitor visa in 2016 because of a concurrent immigration application. Had a research opportunity in 2017 so i applied for a J1 visa, denied again. I reapplied for the same visa again directly after, convinced them I was coming back so they made me wait like 1 month while they did background checks on me, it got approved. In 2022, my immigrant visa became due and I went to the interview, it was approved directly and now I am a green card holder! Never give up on your goals, just keep at it but do it in a smart way, Goodluck everyone :)
Dear i also tried to apply for j1 before but got denied, I planned to reapply again but now not j1. How did u defend yourself from your previous refusals since you changed visa types
i got my visa refused on 2019 1 month later i got approved my visa for australia ive been living here legally and had best time of my life better wages better payments and beatiful people everywhere
@@chaiandcoaching you are welcome. It went smoothly for me. Less than 3mins. I was more confident, I remember what Ben said about visa officers are not interested in the purpose of your travel, however, they are more interested in you coming back from your visit. That was an "eye opener" for me. Also he said how to focus on your highlights. Which I did. I also take away some thing from Mandy, where she said that Visa officers don't look at documents. Only when they are in doubts. I saw that played out while I was at the interview. I'm grateful that you have these kind of videos that helped us better prepared for our Visa Interviews. ❤️🙌
Wow ! Knowledge is really the key ,I was denied a us Visa about 25years ago ,I've travelled to other countries but never went back until 2017 with my son because I wanted him to go on his school Disney trip and the experience of travelling,I was denied a Visa for him also,I was asked why I'm not going with, my response was not now, listening I realised I should have explained. I have the experience of travelling I didn't own a us Visa, all I wanted at times was to give 7years old son at time a chance to know another part of the world .very informative,.Thanks much
I applied some years ago for a visit visa. I carefully prepared all the documents. Proof of employment. Proof of funds. Proof of property and a host of others. The interviewer looked at the first page in my file. Looked at me like I was something unpleasant she had stepped in on the sidewalk. She didn’t ask me a single question. Simply said: "you're a nurse. All nurses just want to abscond to the US. Visa denied." She refused to explain further. Refused to look at any other supporting documents. Turned and walked away. I was flabbergasted. Tried to ask for someone else and was told I had my result and to yry again in a few years. I'm sorry, but that just totally put me off even wanting to try again. Yes, I still long to visit the US, but I really don't want to deal with that attitude ever again. Even 20 years later, just thinking about it makes me both angry and nauseous...
This literally happened to me yesterday it’s not even funny, at least they looked at your documents the person that interviewed me refused to look at any of my documents, only asked me for purpose of visit and where I work and just like that I was denied, the entire time she was looking at me with disgust😞
All you have to do is not be nervous (they'll think you're hiding something/lying about your intentions) and answer all the questions they ask you thoroughly and truthfully according to the type of visa you're applying for, that's all there is to it! If you're applying for a tourist visa, tell them that you're on vacation from school or work and that you're visiting friends/family or you have hotel accommodations pending. If you're applying for a student visa, let them know that you're coming to earn a degree in your chosen field and that you plan to go back to your home country after to contribute to your field. The same thing goes for other types of visas. Be truthful and you have nothing to worry about. Remember, first impressions are very important. Go to the window, smile, greet them the time of the day, and just relax and answer the questions. The interview will last about 2 minutes maximum because they already know everything you put down on the application, the interview is basically to just confirm it!
I just received my US Tourist Visa at the first time of asking. It was a brief interview. A good strategy is to be as clear and concise as possible with your information. My interviewer kept asking me about my academic credentials (I am a PhD student).
My son made an appointment with the Fort Erie customs on Nov 17th 12 pm. We left Toronto at 7 am as we didn't know how busy the customs would be. Arrived the town of Fort Erie around 9:45, stopped at Timmy for breakfast, cashiers and customers were typical Canadian and super friendly, must say quite different from some Timmies in Toronto. There weren't too many that day so we were directed to one of the offices on the right side of the lane. Custom officer kept all our passports. We waited for no more than 10 minutes before they called my son. He was basically asked how he found this opportunity, job duties, university diploma and transcript, took no more than 15 minutes.
My English husband was denied an Immigration VISA to come to the USA a few years ago. I am American by birth and also a veteran. We were both 60 that year. He is an Army veteran with three head injuries (bayonet, bullet and explosion) and was beginning to have some memory issues. When filling out forms on his criminal past he failed to list a broken window incident (misdemeanor) at the age of 17. He was told he was denied for lying of government documents and being an undesirable. We were furious for a couple of months as we tried going through the appeal process but then my husband had a heart attack and needed heart surgery. So in retrospect that immigration guy may have saved his life because we certainly could not afford that kind of healthcare in the USA. Si instead I got a VISA to immigrate to England where his healthcare is there for him. The process is pretty awful though and the system really needs some work.
@@chaiandcoaching I realised that I have entered wrong information instead of 2 days stay in the US I entered 2 years, will my visa get rejected or must I apply for a new one?
I've been denied a Visitor's visa 2 times now and both times the officers refused ot take any of my evidence of proof of income, ties to country and more. I explicitly asked the second time for them to see my paperwork and talk to me but they remained quiet and proceeded to just hand me a 214 paper. I then spoke to USCIS and they told me that I can report these officers. While in line waiting for my turn I also saw a few people in front of me get denied and the same, they are failing to ask questions. Almost as though they don't even want to be there doing their job. Very rude behavior, condencending and worst of all, a bit racist IMO. This happened at the US office in Uruguay.
@@chaiandcoaching I did but I've not ben contacted back in months. It's very disappointing that the system is exactly has you say in the video. You are guilty until proven otherwise. The american dream is dead, I am a criminal in their eyes without having commited a crime, it's really sad and discouraging. The whole system needs to go and it needs to go now.
@@chaiandcoaching Where to start? First, I'd definitely hire people to work in foreign USCIS offices that are familiar with that specific country's government and economic system. Having a qualified person to make a proper assessment based on local standards would greatly help make a better decision. I would also implement a system that specifies in detail reasons for denials rather than a generic 214 that could be open to misinterpretation. This is just for visitor visas. Diving deeper into NVC and USCIS themselves, They need a complete overhaul of their structure. As you know there are cases that are decades old sitting at offices awaiting approval because of the supposed limits set per categories for the fiscal year. This last fiscal year there were thousands of slots that were not filled due to being short-staffed and the pandemic. I find this to be an awful excuse as the backlog has been happening way prior to the pandemic and one of the main reasons they fail to secure an increased budget and funding is due to the lack of structure within the system. I could go on forever but I believe there should be NVC and USCIS processing offices per state rather than the only 5-6 we currently have. This allows for better control and sorting. Apart from my visitor visa denial, I have also filed for a I-130 back in 2016 through my father who is a US Citizen. Almost 6 years have gone by and there has been no progress. USCIS processing times website changes constantly to accommodate for the fact that they are behind so the "Outside window" is never met and one can never file for expedited processing. Ridiculous all across the board to say the least. The % per country is also a huge issue, Section 202 prescribes that the per-country limit for preference immigrants is set at 7% of the total annual family-sponsored and employment-based preference limits however we have over 100 countries applying for F1 through F4 categories. How are limits set then? Do they prioritize countries with a very low amount of applications? They are never very clear on how the whole system works. I've seen friends apply from countries like Belgium for permanent residency through I-130 and receive an answer within 1-2 years (This also happening with them applying in 2019 while I've been waiting since 2016). I have much much more to input but at the end of the day, there's absolutely no way they will ever listen to me and unfortunately, many of the applicants lack the deep knowledge to fight for a just fix to the problem. Thank you for listening to my rants!
2 weeks back I had my very first J1 VISA interview and my VISA got approved. The questions asked were :- 1.Where are you going? 2.Where have you worked before? 3.Why USA? 4.What will you be learning in USA? 5.What key elements you will be learning in USA that you will be using in INDIA? 6.Which course are you pursuing? 7.Are you a graduate?
Excellent and very important video as so many students facing denial issues and it’s good to hear from someone who has actually served in consulate for years! Thanks for making this video Rob!
This is a great interview and a wonderful resource for the whole visa process! I work with many immigrants in the professional and specialist field. I'll show them your video.
@@chaiandcoaching Coming back with a plan B. When Ben describes something logical is missing it makes total sense! As we all know the language from USCIS can often be so nebulous while we're trying to figure out what could have gone wrong during the process, and at the same time being overwhelmed with emotions. It's incredible there's a solution like Argo. They bridge that gap where the guesswork is taken out. It's refreshing hearing a friendly ex-visa officer speak so candidly and honestly about everything where just the thought of them is usually intimidating. This is where a lot of that anxiety can be put to rest. Big respect to Ben! And thank you for getting the word out, what an incredible interview🙂
It's a shame that visa application is kinda talent show. Not everyone has to have actor skills to be a good student or worker. Better idea would be asking for official documents like diplomas (in case of students), information about family revenue from local tax office, information about lack of crime from local police, and that all could be even done online.
ya I wanna tell about my visa refusal here...today in the morning I had visa interview, and I did the exact mistake as told @9:26 . The first question was, what was your purpose of visit, and I just said "I am going for MS", and I was just silent after that. The officer was also silent for few seconds after my answer, I think she wanted to speak me more, but I didn't. I should have been speaking more about where I am going and the study that I will be doing, but I didn't tell that in the first question. So I think this was the biggest reason for my visa rejection. Also she(the officer) didn't specifically ask me any documents other than I-20 and SEVIS fee receipt, so I didn't show all the supporting, necessary documents to her. I think I should have shown all the documents upfront so that there will be no scope of doubt left. This was all about my visa refusal, now I am going to apply again and going to prepare really well. Hopefully I will get accepted. Hope you will find this comment useful. Thanks !
My mother in law had B1/B2 issued twice, she has traveled 3 times and never over stayed her visa, however on the 3rd visa application she was refused, but during the interview she was asked about her adult estranged married daughter who had traveled to US and on a B1/B2 visa with her family and they overstayed their visas and and never returned to their country of origin. She has since re applied and refuse again. How is she being punished for something that she did not do, and if she had intent to stay in US, surely she would have done so during her visit. How do we rectify this, as she has a son she is close to and would love to see her grandkids
I’m so sorry to hear about the situation. That’s tough. I personally don’t know what to do. It would be better for you to consult with an immigration attorney or the experts at Argo Visa. 😃
I'm convinced that the big investors and analysts are trying to scare us to keep us poor and ignorant to the market.. because its steady doing good after all the jobless and market crash talks
Ben and Maggie and all the officers at Argo visa you are amazing you are so helpful. very powerful insights . I have great admiration for you guys .Cheers
I work as an cabin crew and i have applied for J1 visa. To do my internship in front office in the US. My visa got rejected on 17th july. The visa officer asked me that why you want to switch your roles and and what will be your responsibilities in the US. I want to apply again for the 2nd attempt could you please help me by tell what should be my strategies this time.????

As a student visa applicant who got denied twice, I am sure that their condition is "showing doubts for immigration" instead of "not showing strong ties to home country"! It should be replaced! 2:40 if only I listened to this before applying, "visa applicants are considered guilty unless they prove themselves innocent" though isn't that considered too strict/illegal? Why should students after being accepted to a US university and hold an I-20 form be considered guilty? The second time I applied, they mainly aimed at what have I been doing and to know the relatives I have in USA, though they know most of the answers, they want to know if I am lying or not, just "their" assumption!
I m a US citizen. I invite my brother and his son to visit me in California. I sponsor their trip. My parents are also in the US, green card holders. My brother has a B2 visa interview first time this month. He does not speak English, so I decided to go with him as a translator during the interview. Questions: 1. Should I mention during the interview that I m the one who invited him to the US? 2. He has enough funds to cover his own expenses (he has his own business with a good income). Does he need to provide proof of funds even though I m the sponsor? 3. What are his chances of getting approved? 4. Does he have to buy a US round-trip ticket before the interview as evidence that he is not intended to stay in the US?
You living in the us and your parents already reduce his chances of getting a visa for 1 % you being his sponsor makes him be denied. You need to demonstrate that he has ties with his country and not ties with the Usa. So focus on him demonstrating that he has money on his own and his own life where he lives
Why is the bar so much higher for a person abroad that has committed no crime, merely requests a visa, than a criminal entering America's southern border who is given immediate and warm welcome? The illogical hypocrisy of these policies is staggering, and make a mockery of the entire process.
June 6 I was denied as a tourist visa even though I have an invitation letter From my club in US. Why so fast denying just only a quickly question then...not capable..? It's hurt...we do thing everything to line up in a long lane outside the US embassy Then just in 10seconds inside..failed. This is my wish to go in America since I was young but now failed
G day. I know of a man who is in his mid 70. He worked on the US Farm Wiok prog for over 20 yrs. He recently applied for a visitor visa and was refused. How can this be ?
I'm going to the States for holiday for a few months and had my B2 visa denied. I was devastated. The guy interviewing me kept interrupting me as I tried to answer his questions. Eventually gave me the 214b refusal paper stating I wasn't clear about my activities in the States. I applied again and have a new interview in a few days I'm super nervous and am bracing myself for the worst. But this video really helped calm my nerves! Thank you! UPDATE: My visa was approved! I got a much friendlier interviewer that actually asked what I'd be doing in the States, how long I'd be there for, how I'm paying, what I'm doing when I come back etc. The last guy didn't ask any of that and that's why I didn't get the visa last time lol
I got my B1/B2 visa approved 2 days ago. I am going for 2 weeks vacation with my husband. Why are you staying for months? And did you state it that you're staying for months? That could raise a red flag
How does it take to apply again when you are denied??? I was denied yesterday and i can't still believe that for real and my aunt and her family was so excited to see me this year
I was in my penultimate year of med school I’m Eastern Europe, and I wanted to spend my summer holiday in the US. My sister who was studying in another European country and my Mum from Nigeria were going to be in the US, so we planned a meet up. I am originally from Nigeria and I have been to many other countries with no denial or issues. The consular didn’t take a single look at my passport or documents and refused me on some “I don’t have proof I will return” and I should “go to my home country to apply” I was like wait a minute, you actually believe that I will leave med school in my penultimate year to go and be illegal in America? Like no universal healthcare America? The gun ridden one? I just looked at her like she was crazy and left. I went to the UK that summer. I finished med school and migrated to England to work and live. After I researched the American healthcare I decided not to work or live there. I haven’t applied for another American visa since then. Many of them in my opinion think everybody wants to live in America or America is the greatest, and it’s laughable.
@@chaiandcoaching thank you for your response. She asked what I did in the country I was applying from, what course I was studying and what year I was in which I answered. She then asked where I was going to, my reason for wanting to travel there, where the uncle who was going to be hosting us worked, and the list of the other countries I had been to, which I also answered. All of those information were in the form I filled out, and in the documents I had with me. As soon as I got to the counter she already started typing/filling out the refusal. As soon as I answered the last question, she just said “I’m sorry I won’t be granting your visa at this time bla bla bla.......you can reapply from your home country bla bla bla....” she just printed out the refusal she was filling and handed me the letter. She didn’t even look at my passport, let alone other documents. The refusal letter said something along the lines that I didn’t show proof that I would return. I just looked at her crazy and left. How will l leave medical school to run away and be illegal in the US?? Her whole disposition was just rude! While my country of nationality is a 3rd world country with terrible reputation, no one should be treated with such condescension.
VISA officer didn't asked for the home ties as I was going to attend a training session with me client as it was a B1 visa and trip was sponsored but still he didn't ask me regarding the same and refused under 214 (B).
I was denied last year October i quickly paid visa fees and I apply again but I was not given favorable date, I requested for emergency but I was not granted. So I cancel the date thinking that I will favourable date but they don't give any date. School will resume by August 2022
My visa was refused because of my stammering, I was not able to communicate perfectly so she thought that I’m not qualified but I told her that I have stutter with anxiety but by the end refusals only, I bring all the necessary documents with me for the interview, my father is wealthy man with factories but I was denied. So sad I next visa interview will be in Dubai, I hope everything goes well. From mozambique
I have a unique story almost all my live my family and I had B1/2 visa then the F1 and m1 for my studies never over stayed in 2016 before my N1/2 visa expire i went to renew it with my family and we got rejected one year later I went by my self got rejected again so since then didn't apply anymore the reason we don't know because they don't give any motive.
I have a fully funded master's program and will be attending a U.S. visa interview next week. My concern is that I have a brother who completed his undergraduate and master's degrees in the U.S., got married, and now holds a green card. How might my brother's immigration status affect my chances of obtaining a visa? I have no intention of staying in the USA as I have a job to return to once I complete my program.
Highlight how your brother came the right way; studied, worked & followed the legal process. Also highlight your home ties and future plans to return to home country after degree.
My B1 Visa Revoked when i enter the US for the 3rd time in different timeline, they suspected me working in the US and revoked my VISA but I have my own company in where I live, when I arrive back home I immediately applied for a new VISA in USA. What would I say during the interview., maybe you can give me pointers to get back my B1 VISA
My husband was refused on 09-27 in juarez mx..he's still out there under 221g administrative processing but do not have a reason on what went wrong..is this normal..???
My F1 visa has denied two times on December 8 and February 1. I don't know what are the reasons to my denial even though I answered all the questions confidently with out fumbling. I have applied my visa to Sacred heart University. And now again I am giving my 3rd attempt. Can anyone tell me what changes should I made this time? FYI I am going for same university again.

A US visa officer denied my family’s visa( we were going for a renewal), there was really nothing wrong with my family’s application. We provided everything that was requested, this was at the peak of the “trump executive order” on visa ban etc January 2020 before the lockdown.
I was refused 4 years ago, the reason " I wasn't married"😳. Got my EU passport and don't need a visa anymore, they profile most countries to refuse them. It doesn't matter if you met all the requirements
I got my visa denied because they wanted me to show active cash in my sponsors account but instead I showed how much my sponsor made a year and they denied me under section 214b. I will be reapplying soon with the correct documents hoping I get through because I really need this opportunity.
Hello! My visa was approved at the window and served the approval white sheet saying that I should take the passport with me as the embassy will close to a certain period for the holidays. The paper directs that I should log in to my portal and print an authorization-in-document at a certain date and add it to my passport and send it through the local post. However, I checked my visa status and saw: Refused. I’m worried about my visa status. Please help!

alright. my dad applied a visitor visa B1 to visit me since i was getting married about 2 years ago. and the officer just asked when i graduated and when i got US citizenship. 2X denial straight without 3rd question asked . even though he had the copy of the docs to backup the answers. any recommendation ?
I’m sorry to hear that. I would need to have more context to give any recommendations. The best thing is to consult with the experts from Argo Visa. They will have helpful answers for you.
We got denied for a B1/B2 visa today. The Visa Officer seemed disinterested on whatever we had to say. Every chance we get to speak, he always cuts us off and asks another question. We were going to say all of our highlights and our strong finances but he keeps diverting the conversation towards a different topic. It felt like we were judged and not assessed. We were both previously in the US under J1 visa during our past visa interviews the Officers at that time were considerate and accommodating. It was really unfair on our behalf because we know that we're capable and we qualify. We really believed that interviews are not based on mood or whatever but the experience we had today kind of changed our minds. It's really sad and unfair when your intentions are pure and true but the Officer failed to see it and was not interested at all. My takeaways are some Officers are really accommodating while some are not. How you prepare might or might not work depending on the Officer that is interviewing you. Good luck to everyone!
Was the man bald? I had the same issue. And there is no one you can complain too because they may be able to red flag you for life. So its a big waste of money and they don't understand that. They should be happy we are trying to visit and do it the legal way.
I was rejected for US visa twice, the first it was vocation to my aunt and that time I was in my final year university in 2019 and second time I when with my husband in February 2021 but I was rejected in both. Please can you help me because I want to apply again.

My visa was refused today…I later saw something online that says u can’t use B2 visa to visit ur boyfriend….and it’s impossible to get ur visa approved through that…
My husband had his interview yesterday for a tourist visa in Bosnia , we had a very good feeling he would get a visa because of all the information we had prepared for the interview and because me and our child are both American Citizens. Sadly yesterday he was refused due to 214(b) , when he came up to the window for his interview they only asked for his passport and asked three questions. 1. Where do you work? (Police force) 2. Are you married (yes) 3. Do you have a child (yes). Then he said sorry you dont meet the standards for this visa and gave him the slip. My husband asked why can he be specific he just said everything you need to know is on the slip goodbye. My husband was shocked that he didn’t even ask to see the evidence my husband bought for him to see all the ties he has to his home country. They did not ask for anything just like they knew they would refuse him already.. I just keep thinking what was wrong..
I guess it's exactly because you and your child are American citizens. That means that he can stay there and become a citizen as well easily, because he's married to an American citizen.
I got the 214(b) 3 days ago. I planned to visit my uncle for just 10 days and resume my last semester for my masters program in the UK. All he asked was 1. Why are you visiting? (To see my uncle) 2. What does do (Surgeon at a hospital) I provided full details not just the brief mentioned. Next thing I got was the dreaded answer and the slip. Sometimes it’s just unexplainable how these officers decide. I know they undergo a lot of training to determine peoples’ intentions. But I still feel they arbitrarily use this position to act on impulse and their say is final.

HELLO SIR, I did my interview last 28sept me with my wife the visa b1 b2 and the officer give us the 221g and he told us after sending the additional information by email he will call us to come at the embassy for stumping the visa but until now( 5months ) still showing refused for administrative processing The question now until when or what i have to do please?
Hi,on the 27th/04/22 I was denied a b1/b2 visa.when I reached the window the officer asked the company I work for and I answered, asked me my position which I answered, she asked what we deal in and I told her.then,do have a family in the US and I told her no,she asked my travel history and I told her I travelled to Dubai. All of a sudden she told me I don't qualify for the visa and she gave back my passport with the 214b form.my qn is where did I go wrong.
I'm very sorry to hear about the rejection, thanks for sharing your story! I don't know what the issue was, it might be your answers, it might be your body language. The experts at Argo Visa can help debrief your interview and help you figure out what could cause the rejection.
I was so bummed out for getting denied my C1D visa and i was given the dreaded 214(b) denial reason because i was unable to demonstrate that my intended activities in the US would be consistent with the classification of the non immigrant via which i applied for.
How about when it’s your 3rd time applying for the same visa and you got refused for the first time and you ask your consulate what has been the cause of denial and the consul just said just rely on the blue paper?
Well every time you get refused it makes it harder to get approved. You need to make big changes. If you keep doing the same thing you will get the same response.
I agree. Same thing happen to me. I applied for an F1 visa and got denied under 214(b). They didn't ask any questions about me or my family. Only about my school. And when I asked Why? The consul said I don't know just read the blue paper. (214b)
I was given 214(b) denial document when I want to renew my visa and get a F2 visa for my wife, what might be the case after confidently answering all the questions and having stayed in the US before?
I married to on American citizen six years now, he file for me 2020 and I was refused but ask to submit more proof of marriage and go and do my medical. I did my medical and send in more proof. Few months later they call me for another interview, I went for the interview and from that day my documents still with the immigration. My husband file for me and my son. I email them and they said the case still under investigation.
Hi, instead of selecting as not applicable, I entered the first, middle, and last name in English to the Full name in the Native Alphabet field of the DS-160 form. Would that be a problem?
I’ve been denied b1/b2 2times 2021&2022 I have no idea what I am going to do change it, my ds160 form it’s ok but window 🪟 6,7,8 mostly denied without any questions, I asked for consular what is the reason he said strong ties . My salary and my bank statement never check during interviews and I have all documents on my hand , he’s not asking anything but he asked where I am going to usa ?🇺🇸 what’s the purpose ? USCIS be calling you fraud for simply making a mistake on your application. My mom didn't know English at the time, and she hired a lawyer 20 years ago that made an error on the application. USCIS then deemed her as fraud and lying. What a load of crap. Have you guys ever just sit down and watch your employees actually do their job in the USCIS buildings? I went there multiple times in Downtown, LA, and they can't even copy name and address correctly without making a mistake into the system. If you guys can't even hire competent employees that copy from words to words, I don't know what to tell you. Here is the breakdown I experienced personally for going there multiple times in the past. Your so called employees start their day after 9am, work for 2-3 hours and then go to lunch. Each line get through about 10 -20 people at most during that 2-3 hours window frame when there are 100+ people waiting in line. They come back 1hr30min to 2 hours later from lunch break and being stuck in toilet for god knows what, then continue to chit chat to their coworkers about how their weekend went and not doing their job. They work 2 hours and then they go home 1 hour early. People are wondering why immigration in the US is garbage and take 20 years+ to process anything. There is a reason why because they don't even get through 100 people per day when the line is filled with people waiting to get to their turn. All they're doing is wasting time and not taking their job seriously while they can't even copy a name or address word to word correctly, even though they're looking at the ID in front of them. How these people are not fired is beyond my understanding. Meanwhile people that work in Asia have x10 the amount of people per line and they get through it 10 times faster than these employees in the USCIS. The difference is that employees in Asia are being paid to work and actually do their job, not chit chat and come in late and go home early. US employees would've been fired long ago if they worked like that in other countries.
@@chaiandcoaching Please put in competent employees that actually take their job seriously. Or at the very least, those employees need to do their job and not be chit chatting and wasting everyone's time who is waiting in line. There needs to be some sort of standard or requirement for each job. They seem to lack skills to do their task efficiently such as their typing speed and ability to just read coherently, because they can't even copy a name and address correctly when an ID is presented to them to look at. Obviously, this indicates their mind is somewhere else and not even paying attention to their current task. Employees are being paid to work, not to chit chat and talk about how their weekends went, take lunch break longer than 1 hour, and come in late and go home early. I'm sure the employers also don't want to pay their employees to just mess around and waste everyone's time either.

Any recommendations to have the visa approved? Any watch outs?

I am a dual citizen of the US and Italy. My girlfriend is Thai and when she had her B1/B2 interview the visa officer first asked how long we were together. When she answered "seven years", his follow up question was "why haven't you gotten married?" I though this was an inappropriate question. It is a personal issue and has no bearing on whether she is a risk to try and migrate. What justification does the visa officer have to ask this. Did he not cross the line here?
I did apply for my visa a couple years ago, it was a tourist visa, because my wife and me weren't married back then. And it got denied eventhough I showed the officer that I was visiting for a concert in the state . So my wife now is a student, she's a PhD candidate. I, now am applying for a F2. Is there anything different i could do? My interview is in a month
I had am indefinite visa, then 2 ten yrs visa. I recently went to the embassy for renewal and was denied because they said I used Medic Aid 27 yrs ago when I had a child. I was granted 2 visas since and that is not true. I had my child in the VI and paid my bill. Medic Aid is not as accessible in the VI as in the mainland. I do not have receipts from 2 dacades back. Me and my family just got our application denied today. Our original date of interview was march 2020 but due to covid, got rescheduled 7x till today. Since 2 yrs had passed, a lot of changes happend in our lives, from employee to business owners. We applied and intend only to visit our relative and do not have any bit of intention to live there. To think that we are more well off than our relative who are living there ( US), that we are more secured here compare there. Its just that we dont know how to prove them that we dont like to live there, despote having complete documents and proof 😆

This is great. The 221(g) admin processing allows officers to sit on cases forever. Sometimes the only way to get "unstuck" is to file a mandamus lawsuit in Federal Court, which generally gets things moving compelling the officer to make a decision, which could be either an approval or denial, and most certainly not a never ending wait which is what 221(g) usually is.
@@chaiandcoaching You are very welcome! A lot of people think the government gets mad when sued in Federal Court. The opposite is actually true. Rather than answering a lawsuit and facing a federal judge (who is appointed for life and has nothing to lose by deciding for or against the government), the government chooses to render a decision on the application.

Is it frowned upon to steer our answer toward a different direction unrelated to the question _for the purpose of demonstrating home country ties_ ? Example: "Are you married? Any kids?" No, I live on my own in my own apartment (hands over ownership certificate), have a car (hands ownership proof), have these bank accounts & investment in this country, have public & private health insurance in this country. It's rambling but not pointless rambling, rather it's to demonstrate home country ties as early as possible before the officer gets to reject us. What do you think?
yes, my husband and me and my son were denied, just because my husband took a 2 years Nursing course, but he did not finish the course. But everytime we have an interview, the consul always discuss about that matter and the consul will deny our visa.

I’m very sorry to hear about that. Thanks for sharing your story!

Thanks bro for the video

@@alejandrocoitinho4071 what suggestions would you make for improvements?
Thank you for listening to my rants!

ya I wanna tell about my visa refusal here...today in the morning I had visa interview, and I did the exact mistake as told @9:26 .
Thanks !

Sorry to hear about that. Thanks for sharing.

I m a US citizen. I invite my brother and his son to visit me in California. I sponsor their trip. My parents are also in the US, green card holders. My brother has a B2 visa interview first time this month. He does not speak English, so I decided to go with him as a translator during the interview.
Questions:

Great question! 🤷♂️ many of us wonder the same thing…😬
maybe just one's true personality shines through during the interview.
June 6 I was denied as a tourist visa even though I have an invitation letter From my club in US. Why so fast denying just only a quickly question then...not capable..? It's hurt...we do thing everything to line up in a long lane outside the US embassy Then just in 10seconds inside..failed.

G day. I know of a man who is in his mid 70. He worked on the US Farm Wiok prog for over 20 yrs. He recently applied for a visitor visa and was refused. How can this be ?
Can be based on lots of reasons….
I'm going to the States for holiday for a few months and had my B2 visa denied. I was devastated.
The guy interviewing me kept interrupting me as I tried to answer his questions. Eventually gave me the 214b refusal paper stating I wasn't clear about my activities in the States.
I applied again and have a new interview in a few days
I'm super nervous and am bracing myself for the worst.
I’m really sorry to hear that. Best of luck! Watch our recent webinar video with Mandy for some other helpful tips to prepare.
I got my B1/B2 visa approved 2 days ago. I am going for 2 weeks vacation with my husband.

The consular didn’t take a single look at my passport or documents and refused me on some “I don’t have proof I will return” and I should “go to my home country to apply”
I was like wait a minute, you actually believe that I will leave med school in my penultimate year to go and be illegal in America?
Like no universal healthcare America? The gun ridden one?
I just looked at her like she was crazy and left.
I went to the UK that summer.
I finished med school and migrated to England to work and live.
After I researched the American healthcare I decided not to work or live there.
I haven’t applied for another American visa since then.
Many of them in my opinion think everybody wants to live in America or America is the greatest, and it’s laughable.
Dang, sorry to hear about that! Did the VO ask any questions?

Very sorry to hear that. Thanks for sharing

I’m really sorry to hear about the refusal. That must be discouraging!

I guess it's exactly because you and your child are American citizens. That means that he can stay there and become a citizen as well easily, because he's married to an American citizen.
I got the 214(b) 3 days ago. I planned to visit my uncle for just 10 days and resume my last semester for my masters program in the UK. All he asked was
1. Why are you visiting? (To see my uncle)
2. What does do (Surgeon at a hospital)
I provided full details not just the brief mentioned. Next thing I got was the dreaded answer and the slip. Sometimes it’s just unexplainable how these officers decide. I know they undergo a lot of training to determine peoples’ intentions. But I still feel they arbitrarily use this position to act on impulse and their say is final.

I’m sorry to hear that was your experience! What suggestions do you have for making improvements?

I am a dual citizen of the US and Italy. My girlfriend is Thai and when she had her B1/B2 interview the visa officer first asked how long we were together. When she answered "seven years", his follow up question was "why haven't you gotten married?"
I though this was an inappropriate question. It is a personal issue and has no bearing on whether she is a risk to try and migrate.
What justification does the visa officer have to ask this. Did he not cross the line here?
Very interesting… good question
Havinf a boyfriend in usa means she has chances of staying in adjusting status. The right visa for her would be k1
Good question. I'm not sure, just be honest with questions. You can watch the other videos in our visa interview playlist for tips.
Anyone knows how to overcome this situation.
I’m not sure about that, sorry. Please get help from an immigration attorney or the experts at Argo Visa for guidance. 😃

I'm very happy to watching this tips. I was denied an F-1 visa to USA for not showing financial documents to support my education. I was having all the necessary documents thinking they would ask me to show them.
My question is:
Do I have to update the documents with current date or I should still use the first documents with dates in May, 2023(This year).
Please I need assistance from you. Thanks and warm regards
I’m sure updated documents will always be more helpful
Was refused under 214(b) so stressed up on how to overturn this decision. The officer was about to issue & I blundered on funding & future plans. I was tensed 🤦
I’m sorry to hear about that result!
@@chaiandcoaching Thanks a bunch Sir. I wish this could be "congratulations" instead. Today is really saddening.

@@chaiandcoaching There is no guarantee the method to approach these type of interviews it’s always a hit and miss it’s never a guarantee never ever even if you have money it’s not a guarantee it really depends on the mood of the visa officer on that particular day and whether or not he likes your face that is the ultimate truth of the discussion I’m sorry to be so negative but I’m calling it as it is
I already failed in J1 interview today .
The Embassy just ask
How old are you?
I am 22 years old
Are you still studying at College?
Yes .
What do you come to US?
I come for the internship with culinary
Do you any relatives in US?

After that check in the computer a half part time may be 2’ minutes.
Then given me a letter sorry you are not allow for this program 🥲🥲🥲
I am really sad today, I am still don’t know why I am filed .
What should I do with the next interview J1 if I apply one more time?

I am so sad, I already waiting a long time but today was failed interview

Did you later get the visa?
Me and my family just got our application denied today. Our original date of interview was march 2020 but due to covid, got rescheduled 7x till today. Since 2 yrs had passed, a lot of changes happend in our lives, from employee to business owners. We applied and intend only to visit our relative and do not have any bit of intention to live there. To think that we are more well off than our relative who are living there ( US), that we are more secured here compare there. Its just that we dont know how to prove them that we dont like to live there, despote having complete documents and proof 😆
Very sorry to hear that!
Same thing happened to me twice. I have important work to do in my mother land. So I should return. But they denied twice and I lost lots of money paid arranging nterviews.
hi, i guess you applied in dubai? may i know what did you answer in the ds160 question “Are you a permanent resident of a country etc? did u answer yes? or if No dis you enter your emirates id?
I also could not give a satisfactory answer to them about my return. Yet... I must return to my mother land. My mother lives here and she is old. Very sad situation. We are honest. But they don't trust what we say.
Thank you guy.

I got my USA visa denied 2 wice it was an fiance Visa...i got real intimidated during the interview..
I’m sorry to hear that. What were the questions and the reasons?
Hi Rob Adams and Ben! It is really a very helpful and great video! I am applying for J1 nonimmigrant visa and have been diagonised for Hepatitis B and while fillling the DS-160 form of communicable disease part where they ask "Do I have a communicable disease of public health significance?" , I am not sure to tick yes or no because in the CDC (or HHS) list of communicable disease of public health significance Hepatitis B was not listed. Any information would be very helpful! Thanks in advance!
I’m not sure, good question! Please consult with an immigration attorney or the experts at Argo Visa for help. Seems like if it is not listed then you should be ok.
Hi sir can i ask a question?

Hi, Ben I was refused a B1/B2 visa going for a caesarean operation in American 2016 was given a 221G form has to picked an emergency date and returned back to be finally given a 214b yellow paper.
Am now going for June 2023 for a graduate F1 visa interview .
Kindly advise as I am going alone and leaving behind my husband an 3 children.
Am a safety officer. Kindly advise.
Thanks 🙏👍
Advise about what?
This is great. The 221(g) admin processing allows officers to sit on cases forever. Sometimes the only way to get "unstuck" is to file a mandamus lawsuit in Federal Court, which generally gets things moving compelling the officer to make a decision, which could be either an approval or denial, and most certainly not a never ending wait which is what 221(g) usually is.
Thx for sharing!
@@chaiandcoaching You are very welcome! A lot of people think the government gets mad when sued in Federal Court. The opposite is actually true. Rather than answering a lawsuit and facing a federal judge (who is appointed for life and has nothing to lose by deciding for or against the government), the government chooses to render a decision on the application.
my b1b2 for 3 y now under AP....and no single update in my case is showing.....
In Mumbai, US Visa interview office counter no. 33 and 34 created and creating problems for Indian students under visa F1 Visa application, they are rejecting Indian students with no reasons, they are playing with career of Indian students. US embassy please think and take appropriate actions on them.
Chinese, Indians are doing politics with students and enmity with them. Everyone knows how the Chinese are.
USA main visa office in USA should know that these Chinese are doing such acts in Mumbai Visa Office, please get them out of here.
So sorry to hear this
I went to USA for a visit in 2016, and I had a child birth, my delivery was covered by Medicaid insurance.
I applied for a US visit visa, and I had my appointment on 10 of May. I took my two kids to the embassy for my appointment. The officer asked me if one of my kids is a US citizen, i said yes. He said that i have to pay for the child birth and if i didn’t its against the law. I told him that I didn’t pay personally and the cost was covered by Medicaid
, not sure he heard the last part, he was so aggressive and accused me that i broke the law and i have to pay back everything.
He didn’t deny my visa but kept it pending to provide the payment proof then reschedule for the appointment.
As long as i was qualified for Medicaid why should i pay back, couldn’t talk or explain anything as he didn’t give me a chance to speak…. Any advice what to prepare before i reschedule for the appointment?
They become aggressive sometimes.
What happened after rescheduling? Did they issue you a visa?
I also had a child in the US but in my case I paid fully, I didn’t take their Medicaid and I had the whole zero balance letter from every healthcare provider I used ( from the hospital to my doctor and my baby’s doctor).

Is it frowned upon to steer our answer toward a different direction unrelated to the question _for the purpose of demonstrating home country ties_ ?
Example:
"Are you married? Any kids?"
No, I live on my own in my own apartment (hands over ownership certificate), have a car (hands ownership proof), have these bank accounts & investment in this country, have public & private health insurance in this country.
It's rambling but not pointless rambling, rather it's to demonstrate home country ties as early as possible before the officer gets to reject us. What do you think?
That could be fine, make sure you get to the point with US VOs
yes, my husband and me and my son were denied, just because my husband took a 2 years Nursing course, but he did not finish the course. But everytime we have an interview, the consul always discuss about that matter and the consul will deny our visa.
Very sorry to hear that!
Ate they accepting visitor visa during their pandemic, is it a good idea to apply now? I had a visa that expired and would like to visit America again.kindly Advice
You can easily check the govt website to see what visas are currently being accepted during pandemic, check with USCIS

America blows my mind really! Why do EU citizens need an ESTA let alone a visa to visit America??? That’s insane to me honestly.
why do you think that is insane?
@@chaiandcoaching well because Americans get to come to the EU visa free and ESTA free. But all that will change end of year.

Can I know the reason for refusing B2 tourist visa. I welcome the decision. When I asked officer the reason for refusing visa. but why the officer refused to tell the reason for rejecting tourist visa. What preventing the officer to disclose the reason for refusing visa. I am aged 68 years, I attended interview for tourist visa, i presented my passport n financial support given by my nephew (my sister's son) having blood relationship. The officer not seen a single page of the documents presented, but rejected.
VO not allowed to give specific reasons. But there are many reasons that can cause a denial. Watch our B1/B2 video to learn more.
Yes I have. It was in the year 2002 as a student. I applied for a J1 visa with a student work abroad program and got denied. It’s 20 years now since I last applied for a US visa.
