Yesterday, I brought home one of these beauties. 156 sportwagon, facelift. Need of adjusting xenon headlamps brought me to your videos and I just want to thank you! I’m just an car enthusiastic and trying to fix everything by my own hands, and I appreciate every good tip very much.Your videos are amazing, for example, I had no idea what is the choking valve doing in real life. Was wondering, how is that my 156 is so smooth when turning off an engine, whereas my second car, 147, shakes like a goat. I was thinking maybe some silentblock, maybe flywheel or something, but first thing tommorow, I will check all the vacuum stuff around. Thanks good sir, take care! Greetings from Cz

    Hello Bruno,
Thanks a lot for uncovering some mysteries of the Alfa Romeo 156.
Also, it would really help if you could let peoples know where to purchase spare parts online for Alfa Romeo cars because those cars are uncommon in some parts of the word.
Even better if there were an Online mechanic Garage service to remotely assist owners when they stuck with problems. In that last suggestion I can assist in setting this up.

Hi Bruno, great explained details about your 156 Diesel. Especially the special function, avoiding engine shaking after turning of. That’s exactly the specific of my 105 HP Diesel from 2000. But there is no valve like in your car. Can you explain what the valve is doing to avoid shaking when turning engine of. Seems it causes engine turns down slowly and not so abrupt. Thanks

Hello! I found your channel literally just now and I have to say that you've already helped me more than most people by uploading this very video. Don't worry about your English. You're doing a great job explaining things. Keep it up.
Just to make sure in 11:14 min of your video - that's the boost pressure sensor, right? I keep hearing that sound every single time I turn off my engine after driving for a longer period of time. I guess it's the high time to replace the sensor then. I have 2.4 JTD version.

    • @alfaromeonoproblem
