      Lvl 14 here (just leveled up last Saturday). Definitely looking forward to seeing the DM's face when he knocks me unconscious and I instantly come back to life with 85hp (current max is 171hp).
      Sure, it's once per long rest but Blazing Revival is huge.
      Last weekend we faced off against two frost giants, 4 dire wolves and over a dozen wights.
      Cauterizing Flames kept my half of the party from even dipping in hp. One of the frost giants was a spell caster who split the party in to two separate rooms while keeping the cleric in the room with her (it was the clerics backstory story beat, ya know) so one room had the other frost giant and 3 wights while the room we got had 4 dire wolves and ask of the other wights.
      The goal was to survive the encounters in our sperate rooms and escape the rooms to get back to the cleric who was just getting ragdolled.
      We won with no losses but I would be lying if I said it wasn't close.
      I get why the DM force split the party, though... We have 8 people at the table which can be a nightmare for combat.

    I have been playing a Wildfire Druid from 1 to 10 and counting. This subclass is so fun. The battlefield control and problem solving ability of this subclass is unreal. One trick I like: use my wildfire spirit to teleport the frontline fighter with Polearm Master 15 feet away from the enemy it is fighting. But, by far the best part of the subclass is the RP. Why does a Nature Mage have an entity of pure fire following them around? This one question can set up all the role playing possibilities you could ever want. I will disagree with one point in your video. as a person that has spent a lot of time playing both a Wildfire and a Moon Druid, Moon is still the most powerful. I have enjoyed Wildfire more, and it is much better at being a swiss army knife, but if you are looking for pure raw power, go Moon.

    My good friend and I have had countless debates on Wildfire vs Stars in terms of Versatility and Power, personally I have to agree with him that in the beginning Stars is greater in terms of power and maybe even versatility due to Guidance and X amount of free Guiding bolts, but as Wildfire grows in level, like a Wild Fire it builds and builds until you cant stop it, but I believe it truly on comes online at 6th with Enhanced Bond, and from there its insane.

      @@muditjohar5323It’s pet doesn’t scale much, I agree, though a 15ft teleport with some AOE damage is always gonna be useful for both out of combat situations and in combat situations. The abilities the Druid themselves gains are also really good.

    I recommend grabbing elemental adept fire as a feat for this subclass, being able to ignore resistances to fire while treating every 1 as a 2 on the damage rolls is really freaking good (at least in ny opinion)

    I'm playing one right now, at level 13. I must say the most powerful thing is that the spells you always have prepared make it so you have a lot more options for the ones you prepare, and with a Staff of the Woodlands on top I feel like I always have a spell for every occasion. I don't miss fireball at all but you can still get it with a Staff of Fire ;) Also if your spirit gets killed that's (your level x 5) damage you diverted from your party so it's still a win, I love this class

    I was looking for the Druid to multiclass and build a unique character for a friend's game, both from a gameplay in mechanical standpoint, as well as a role playing standpoint. And it did the job and more; It went better than I was expecting, and a lot of the class features don't feel powerful or useful on paper, but in practice they really open up and you realize a lot of what you can do with the subclass.
    I still do wish it had gotten Fireball, but I'll survive without it.

    im playing a campaign where we started at level 1, and the wildfire spirit has saved us a few times: taking down a (thing i dont remember) just before the rogue died, helping us get up a high ledge, and it helped take down a bird mid-air (after which my character along with a tiefling npc) took the bird's legs and ate them like drumsticks

  • @Soda_KanKan
    @Soda_KanKan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    OH, and another point- I believe in the multiclassing section, Cleric is another spectacular option specifically Life and Grave, Life truly plays into the Creation and Healing aspects of WildFire, while Grave plays into Destruction- while specifically targeting Undead, the spell list doesnt lie- as well as the abilities towards keeping those who SHOULD Live- continue to live. Im currently 6 WildFire and 2 Grave, with my holy symbol being an Urn, which I use to symbolize the Ashes left by WildFire which I use to improve the soil and promote further growth! There is no waste everything goes in a continuous cycle.

    Concider a 1 level dip into Arcana Cleric. You get Cleric Cantrips like Guidance, and amazing Cleric first level spells like Bless. Wizard cantrips like Firebolt (and Sapping Sting but confirm with your DM) and Chill Touch to prevent enemy healing.
    The Arcana proficiency is nice for making Healing Word spell scrolls which I would say is better than making healing potions with Herbalist Kit proficiency because you can use the Healing Word Spell Scroll at range, it's the same GP cost, and the healing is about the same. Excellent for picking up allies in combat
    And Cleric's main stat is Wis just like Druid so you can prepare all first level spells with your Cleric spellcasting and prepare all the other levels with your Druid spellcasting.
    Only dipping one level for all that will give you all your subclass features at the same time as marital or half caster classes, so you won't feel behind at all

    I’m currently Playing a Phoenix Sorcerer (UA) 1/Wild Fire Druid 3 Twig Vegepygmy (a HomeBrew Race), and it’s going really good right now. He is flavored as having a Jack-O-Lantern with billowing flames for a head and having vines for a body (the best way I could come up with for him to have both fire and plant abilities), with a large cloak, a bird skull necklace and a metal Raven head on his Staff, with his Fire Spirit being a crow wreathed in shadow and flame.
    He has two abilities (one from his race and one from his Sorcerer Subclass) that allows him to punish enemies for hitting him in melee, and he is also a melee combatant, using Green Flame Blade (from Sorcerer spells) with Shillelagh, and can move himself and others around with the Spirit’s teleport ability.
    The Wildfire Druid isn’t the best tank (unless you get a natural armor from your Race, your DM gives you some non-metal medium armor or your DM lifts the silly metal restriction), though it can be very good for melee damage.

    I played Wildfire Druid while it was UA and converted her when Tasha came out. Lost things, got things. :) I can absolutely attest to the tankiness of this subclass. It's a great subclass -- I love it. I did get to play Alluria to level 20, and we're going to take it Epic. (SO excited for that)
    We had an encounter where the fighter got bogged down by summoned things, the wizard got put in a force cage -- which left the sneaky rogue and my druid to deal with demons on an Abyssal plane (so, not where you want to play with demons). The rogue was a PHENOMENAL damage dealer ... but at the end of the day, hiding so there was only one target for every attack. The druid. Between the wildfire spirit, access to Heal etc.... they could not knock her out. The DM was stunned at how tanky my druid was . I was stunned at the tank she was. (Thankfully, she was an elemental master, so the fire resistance was not a factor).
    I got to where i'd have the spirit hover over our tank so that he could get out of the thick or go somewhere else....without opportunity attacks, plus giving me front line ability to cast touch spells without having to get into that area.

    All you can teleport for 2 hrs per Short Rest, what's not to like? Especially, when Druids lack reliable "Combat Relocation Option" like Misty Step.
    Dream Druids get Teleport Option too, but Wildfire Druid get it at lv 2 and albeit short ranged, yet much more flexible.
    This class is going to use Bonus Action most of the time to control Fire Buddy.

    i played a fire genasi wildfire druid in my first campaign 2years ago, and it was really fun, being the healer of the party while having offensive options like burning hands, scorching rays and conjure animals.
    but most importantly saving the party multiple times (at least once every 2 sessions LOL) using fiery teleportation or other druid spells, and the most broken cantrip is guidance which got us around a lot of encounters.
    also having a high perception the most used spell and a high WIS save which is the most used after DEX i think.
    I recommend playing druid especially this subclass.

  • @ugxsan
    @ugxsan 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Really, the biggest weakness this subclass has is just that fire is, as far as elements go, a frequently resisted damage type. So if you’re maybe doing a hell campaign, not necessarily the best pick, but it’s not like you’ll be useless or anything. You’ll just be more limited in damage output. Compensate by taking on more utility spells, healing, etc.

She's an elf who has been steward of a great forest ever since a fire razed it 1200 years ago. A well known hermit healer, any in need will find her secluded grove minutes after passing the treeline, but any who enter with ill intent emerge scorched and haggard, babbling about endlessly twisting pathways and a golden flame spirit in the shape of a small dragon. • @Levyathyn
      @Levyathyn 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If it helps, I basically made what could be considered a warlock of sorts, but I went the long way; I made a character who was a bard first, and eventually became a druid multiclass after meeting what could essentially be a BBEG of my friend's game, but so far he is just an outside presence, a somewhat neutral if aggressive force.
      I based this character off of a mythological entity called Aillen the Burner Prince, a type of fay creature from Celtic myths and legend, alongside Fionn mac Cumhaill. I essentially made a court of the four seasons type, with each of the seasons essentially being president over by one of the characters presents, and no my character was not summer, not originally. But one of them took up sword against the others, and it eventually ended up a bitter 1v1 fight between the prince and his sister, each of them wielding two of the elements, and he won. His land was destroyed, his power desiccated and weak, and for untold generations he was basically a small fire spirit existing in a deep and terribly haunted and dangerous stretch of dark woods in my friend's world, which is even outside of that pretty dangerous so very few people got there.
      Now, having gathered enough power over time, and being just barely conscious enough to touch an influence our world while extruding into it like some kind of Silent Hill entity presiding over a burned and shadowing world that isn't always present, he gave my character power and I'm sort of an emissary of his now, tasked with bringing people back to his glade so that they may be consumed by the fire, and thus bring the fae court back.
      I'm not sure how much of this you can use, but it's an idea that's worked out pretty well for me and added quite a bit of background lore to my friend's world. Also after I told my friend about this, he sent me a video from someone named Dael Kingsmill who actually talked about this story and some of the other Celtic myths that can be used for inspiration in one of her videos, which was pretty cool to see.

    "Of course I intend to save the world from this demon you think I was just going to...."
    "Shhhh, I know." As she slowly held my jaw open
    "I just thought I'd offer some help" as the baby fire spiders ran into my throat and I could feel my insides burning I woke up.

    The only real reason one wouldn't play this, is if the DM throws exclusively creatures with Fire Resistance or even Immunity.
    I haven't used my character quite yet, but I'm quite happy with my Harigon "Druid" who's actually a aspiring cook. I genuinely can't wait until I get to use him and his jackrabbit wildfire sprite (Kayjune) in battle. Only real issue that any DM would have is that he uses metal knives... "Well of course dey're made of metal. What did ya expect dem ta be made of? Bone?" (Although a friend of mine suggested Obsidian, I like the idea of him being an "unconventional" druid. Or at the very least, hope that people understand that while his powers are functionally that of the druid, the methodology and flavor of his powers are centered entirely on him being a cook.Think of it like how Pearl Jam is for Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.)

    Ok bro we get it. You like this subclass. I do really enjoy the flavor and power of a lot of the subclasses abilities. However, your focus on fire damage is actually a negative because of how many creatures have resistance or immunity to it. By no means a weak subclass, but Moon, Shepard, and Stars are all far superior for damage. In fairness, the healing this subclass gets is rather handy, but cauterizing flames is not one of the strongest abilities in 5e. It just isn't when you look at Chronurgy, Divination, Echo Knight, Bear Totem, and Twilight Domain.

    • @christopheregger1091
      @christopheregger1091 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you're planning on Tank specifically, you might get more mileage out of Totem Barbarian/Moon Druid. Wildfire is great, but having to share your Wild Shape uses pulls you in a bunch of directions and the real power of its tankiness doesn't come until later. Combine that with Barbarian's Rage (especially Bear Totem) and Wildfire won't necessarily keep up. That said, if you're die hard on Fighter and want to be in there using your weapons, then having a Wildfire Spirit that can be in the Midline and an anchor point for spells could be very versatile.
      None of this is to say that Fighter/Moon Druid is a bad combo (especially depending on which type of Fighter you go, the tactical options of Battle Master for battlefield control would probably be pretty great alongside the Fire-And-Forget battlefield control spells of the Druid.
      It's a late answer, but I hope it helps (if you haven't already started).

    I want to make a hippie/surfer bro druid so bad, but Land(coast) druid fits the concept better than wildfire, but the mechanics are more appealing with wildfire...

    Y'all, pray for my DM. I'm building an Aarakocra Gestalt Wildfire Druid with Way of the Astral Self Monk. I shall call her small monastic druid circle, The Astral Firehawks. 👻🔥🦅

    It is supposed to be powerful. Any single element caster has to be this powerful because there are many element resistant as well as element immune foes. If they fight a fire elemental they are virtually useless (immunity to both fire and poison) and have to focus on supporting.

    Aren't a lot of enemies resistant to fire?

    • @KhamesiB
      @KhamesiB 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The 4th level spell "elemental bane" forces a con save and if they fail they lose resistance to your choice of acid, cold, fire, lightning, or thunder. Also, the first time they take that type of damage each turn they take an additional 2d6 of that. So even a produce flame cantrip at that level with your wildfire spirit summoned could deal 3d8 plus 2d6 to a now resistance-less enemy. It is con but if you upcast you can target multiple enemies. Also the elemental adept feat can just remove fire resistance from enemies which then only leaves immunity. Definitely ways around that issue.

    There’s something about fire that speaks directly to you, invigorating your soul whenever a flame dances nearby. It’s no wonder that you cannot help but set things alight, reveling in the incendiary destruction of the world around you. The smells, the licking flames, the crackle and pop as whatever is thrown into the fire turns to ashes as all things do-there is nothing better.
    Skill Proficiencies: Athletics, Nature
    Tool Proficiencies: Alchemist’s supplies
    Equipment: Alchemist’s supplies
    Feature: Pyromaniac
    Your Sin score increases by 1 and the DC of saving throws against fire-based attacks or spells you make or cast is increased by 1.

    Wildfire Druids are amazing... until they have to fight something resistant or immune to fire damage, then they are just an above average healer.

      Elemental bane can also remove fire resistance and deal more fire damage as well. Immunity is immunity but unless you're going to hell you'll be fine. Also there are a lot of spells you can use instead. I haven't had many issues the last year I've played my wildfire druid.

    Best part is less extremist vegan druids always throwing a tantrum with the first fire spell someone throws near any form of vegetation, finally some more druids that understand the balance of nature... This is the real gift of this subclass

    Personally, I wouldn't cast Burning Hands or Flaming Sphere on a *DARE.* Plant Growth is a spell I prepare anyway, all the time, as a druid ... I suppose having another available spell preparation is okay, but hardly earth shattering. Revivify is nice to have because when you need it, you *really need it,* and spellcasters rarely prepare it because who wants to think "some of us are going to die today," so it's nice to have *SOMEONE* in the party who automatically has it readied. Fire Shield is ... okay, I guess ... but it doesn't do much that Absorb Elements doesn't, and do you *really* need to spend a level 4 spell slot in order to get limited elemental resistance (fire and cold only) without Concentration? Flame Strike is a much smaller version of Fireball that you need a 5th-level spell slot to cast, and again, I wouldn't cast Aura of Life or Mass Cure Wounds on a dare. Scorching Ray is worth casting only if you're a bugbear who gets Initiative on the first round of combat, and if I want to do that I'll play a War wizard for the initiative bonus. So now that they've removed Fireball from the bonus spells, the list is mostly hot garbage.
    The damage the Wildfire Spirit does is completely insignificant, even at 2nd level, and it doesn't "scale" worth a damn, especially when you consider how the monsters' hit points scale. The Enhanced Bond feature is okay, but please quit wetting your pants over it. An extra d8 healing or damage to a single target is hardly earth shattering. The best thing about this feature is that you can now use Thorn Whip at much greater range, and pull your target in any direction you like rather than directly towards you ... a definite tactical advantage for a druid who isn't Circle of the Moon and thus very likely doesn't WANT enemies getting closer to him. 😉 Cauterizing Flames is good, but again, you're getting way too excited over a fairly minor advantage. First, druids are already the best healers in the game due to the existence of the Goodberry and Healing Spirit spells (Life clerics HATE druids for stealing their thunder). Adding a little more healing to their abilities is nice, but hardly worth this level of excitement. Also, in order for the ability to even work, first something has to die, which by tenth level is likely to have cost the party way more than the 16 HP (on average) that the ability will heal. It's nice, but hardly game-changing.
    The one feature that makes this subclass outstanding (and it *ABSOLUTELY IS* an outstanding subclass) is that the Wildfire Spirit provides basically unlimited, if short-range, combat teleportation. Since druids basically *don't get* combat teleport spells, *THIS,* adding the practically unlimited use of an ability that's like a slightly watered-down version of both Dimension Door and Vortex Warp, is the standout ability of the Wildfire druid. It gives the entire party so much tactical flexibility that it's utterly insane. It's even better than the Echo Knight's equally unlimited combat teleports, because it can be used to move and support allies. It's an amazing ability, and IT, not the eminently crappy bonus spell list or the okay-but-unexciting healing and damage bonuses, is what makes the Wildfire druid shine ... or maybe smoke. 🤣
