Having NPC’s aiding you in a hunt comes from Monster Hunter Rise:Sunbreak. I have to say it was pretty fleshed out. Each character had their own personality,weapon of choice,and different styles of attacking behavior. The NPC’s could put down traps,heal you/or themselves,wyvern ride for you if you didn’t want to do that,go off and bring another monster to attack the one your focused on. I’m very happy to see this comeback.

The towns aren’t defended by loading screens anymore. Could be interesting if monsters could attack the main towns, go rouge and see their family turned into weapons and armor at the blacksmith. The food the cats are making would be the bait I think.

I actually really like the idea of being able to call in NPC hunters, especially if its an expanded version of what they did in Rise: Sunbreak. It would be really cool to have different NPC hunters wandering around the hub area or even in the open world, be able to do quests for them, make them better hunters, then be able to call them in to help you.
Im assuming itll just strickly be a skin for the mount like the velkhana mount skin. Since our mount can fly or glide, seeing a deviljho mount flap its little trex arms would be hilarious
I'm in the group of not being super hyped about them removing the actual tracking of the monster, however, I'm okay with assuming that maybe this functionality was either removed for the demo, or, like in World, they know enough about the monster that they want to hunt/have collected enough information that it just appears for them on the map. Though, if this is my only complaint by the time the game releases, i'll be great.
Yeah, I'm not even a MH veteran, but if they really have removed every semblance of tracking then that'll suck. Will still play regardless, everything else sounds incredible, but it removes a layer of immersion. Hopefully we just don't have the full picture yet, as you said.
Each time I hear any new info about Wilds it only increases my hype. I don't get hyped for AAA games these days anymore, because I'm jaded for the AAA games industry and their anti-consumer shenanigans. (unfinished games, greedy MTXs, etc.) But as a big Monster Hunter fan I cannot wait for the Wilds.
This has fast made its way to my top 3 most anticipated games. Really hope they have some seriously challenging monsters in here somewhere. Love what I am hearing.
Insect glaive? I actually loved that one ! I hope the gameplay will feel less rigid than in previous MH... I also hope there will be a jungle like MH worlds, I seriously couldn't get enough of that jungle, it was really super cool and beautiful.
If it has a middle point between world and rise, it would be awesome... i love rise, but i get ffor many is too fast, but world is slower than old gen MH.
I've only played Rise. Just never got into the franchise that much, until I saw Rise on sale. I enjoy it. Playing it now, actually. The interface and how you interact with stuff is different, but you get the hang of it. This looks great! I'm a fan of this thing.
If you want to try world, its a really easy and fast monster hunter to progress. Beware tho of the slow movement, and some story points that make you stop a lot for, tracking shananigans. If you can, pick sunbreak, the DLC of rise, its amazing. Iceborne is to clunky and requires you to spend to many hours, having a bad progression specially heading endgame, so ill say just wait, you migght not have the time for it.
The hype is more and more real, and the MH series is one of the only ones that has ever lived up to the hype for me. I can't wait for this release, I hope we get a demo after Gamescom
@@gleipnirrr I have "unlimited" PTO at my job but its kind of a catch 22, you're still responsible for delegating your tasks out or getting your shit done with clients. So yeah I can PTO, but its way easier to off a grandma lol
If I can just walk around, gather and discover in a living world like we had in Guiding lands then thats tight and it seems like wilds is gonna turn out this way. I just hope the weapon improvements aren‘t that heavy on grinding crystals or other rare material
I'm guessing you need to a least unlock map tracking for mobs. Probably starts as a ?? Marker on your map first. Just a guess since you do have scout flys.
I think having NPC hunters join you is a good idea I only ever played world with friends as 9/10 I was partied up with people who was either really bad and kept dieing or they was goofing around so this is an awesome feature
The part with the flare rather than only signalling multiplayer (which has been a feature since the 1st game) is indicating they're going back to the World / Iceborne type of Sos Flare, which wasn't used in Rise/Sunbreak as it was a weirder way of searching for quests in multi
Weird to me the one thing that automatically sold me is how your player characters hair moves around during battle. It looks so good and now knowing the mounting gameplay and dual weapons is just a close chefs kiss away from 2025!
This will be huge for this series. I'm very interested. One thing I didn't like was the world and the job board disconnection. The maps were cool but being seemless and with the town too is crazy good

Those scenes of creative actions happening isnt new. They happen during MSQ first time encounters. The monster will run away to these areas so these can play out. Thats why i love MSQ first time encounters the most. The mount thing was in rise. The npc helpers was in rise also. Loved that mechanic
All of this makes me wonder how time limits would work. Would they’re even be any? Or would it be faster paced like rise and time just isn’t even an issue.
I feel like the focus mode is gonna be something more advanced but similar to the targeting from Monster Hunter Now. I think its supposed to help newer players actually land hits as MH movement is very unique and positioning your self properly is a needed skill but hard to learn for newer players.
I feel like this is a pipedream, but it would be awesome if the NPCs could be customized like heroes in Guild Wars 1: Eye of the North. But maybe that would be encroaching on the territory of palicos? IDK I'd rather have a customizable progressable party than palicos anyway.
I see a lot of aspects of Dragons Dogma II in MHW. It’s always been a thing with Capcom with those games. I’m wondering though if MHW will be a bit more simplified like they did in DDII - such like armor and weapon customization, even character development aswell. And not like that’s a bad thing, but with a massive project like this, be expecting a lot of big changes… (for better or for worse)

Monster Hunter Wilds is going to be insane!!! The games are anyways so unique, and this franchise is so special, only MH fans understand the feeling of wanting to bring a boss to the newer game to fight it again. You'll see people begging capcom to bring back monster A or B, cause the fans love the fight, monster design, weapons and armor sets from that monster, capcom created something unique, it's own genre. My wife used to tell me that the hunts took y Too long until she tried the game herself. She spent 25 minutes on a hunt, and after she finished she was like "what??? That felt like 5 minutes.".
I'd be glad to answer. Wilds isn't going to be an MMO in the traditional sense. There will be multiplayer and likely a massively multiplayer communal hub but the actual hunts will be instanced for up to 4 players.

Just temper your expectations on that. In multiple interviews they’ve stressed the term “seamless” over open world. They said the progression system will be similar to older monhun games and some areas won’t be accessible until you’ve completed certain story beats. The only difference is that instead of warping to different maps, you accept quests on the fly and walk to your destination

I hope the mounted combat, at least ranged, is decent or even good. Far too few games have any mounted combat at all, and the only one that comes to mind having good horseback fighting, is the aptly named "Mount and Blade" series. Then there are ones that have it, but it's not that great, like "Dynasty Warriors". To be honest, I don't know why Monster Hunter of all games would need good mounted combat, as it is certainly not needed in its gameplay philosophy, but I'd take it for sure, because for how epic it is, there is a truly astounding lack of it in gaming. Judging by how LBG and HBG worked in the past, there is little reason to assume that it could be bad, unless Capcom does manual number tweaking, like reducing mounted damage by 80% or so. Bowguns have always been weapons that don't really do a lot of complicated combos or special moves, so taking these away, in exchange for supreme mobility, seems too good to be true (or balanced). But yeah, all in all, the mounts have me hyped the most. Usually I spit on mounts in games, because they are just movement speed boosts with custom animations, but when there is the rare system that actually makes the mounts mounts, then I am all ears.
Did they say why they replaced the (awesome) Palamute with an ugly chicken? I'm kinda hoping there's other mount options (or at least some cool armor to make it look less derpy). I am excited for Wilds but I always though the desert was the worst/most boring/weakest of the MHW biomes, so I'm really not feeling the constant focus on the savannah/desert zone.

It's been confirmed you can turn the talking palico off and they'll go back to making the noises like previous games.
I hope this gets more people to instead switch to Japanese/Monster Hunter Language, both of which are superior to the English dubs in these games.

I love the talking palicos, but if it's not your thing, they confirmed you can have them just make cat noises.

To be honest, I don't know why Monster Hunter of all games would need good mounted combat, as it is certainly not needed in its gameplay philosophy, but I'd take it for sure, because for how epic it is, there is a truly astounding lack of it in gaming.
Judging by how LBG and HBG worked in the past, there is little reason to assume that it could be bad, unless Capcom does manual number tweaking, like reducing mounted damage by 80% or so. Bowguns have always been weapons that don't really do a lot of complicated combos or special moves, so taking these away, in exchange for supreme mobility, seems too good to be true (or balanced).
But yeah, all in all, the mounts have me hyped the most. Usually I spit on mounts in games, because they are just movement speed boosts with custom animations, but when there is the rare system that actually makes the mounts mounts, then I am all ears.

Did they say why they replaced the (awesome) Palamute with an ugly chicken? I'm kinda hoping there's other mount options (or at least some cool armor to make it look less derpy).
I am excited for Wilds but I always though the desert was the worst/most boring/weakest of the MHW biomes, so I'm really not feeling the constant focus on the savannah/desert zone.
Can one party member go across to another section of the map and the other on the opposite and hunt different animals at the same time?
I mean you can do that in every other monster hunter game already so I don’t see why not

why do game devs have almost zero clue about mass? the player bullets/projectiles were so comically small it was immersion braking.
