I got banned for "unwarranted aggression" from their community hub. Ah yes, because calling out bullshit and calling out the fact that they're censoring posts is "unwarranted".
Unfortunately they have 32 backer right now and so far gotten $11,541 getting close to $15,000 stretch goal, who this backer is either have no idea and clueless of who they are backing the kickstarter project or they do know who they backing just want to see this scammer to come back and scamming more people. That is if they succeed the kickstarter and meet the stretch goal but that is unlikely.
The game was objectively good besides the lag and server issues. It could've been a decent singleplayer. It had a good concept and a foundation, it was just not made for online mmo.
I was looking at the Kickstarter, someone gave the $12,000. On Kickstarter they say they have 9 of 10 left for that tier but it also says that the $12,000 tier is sold out. I think a dev gave the money and then they sold it out so no one would find out that's what they did.
Weirdly, there were folks that wanted to make a private server for the game, after it was proven to be a scam/asset flip. I would believe there's people just that dumb to fall for it over and over.
Imma guess 100% of the money is from people related to or inside the company. This whole thing is a scam. Just watch. The Day Before happens when novis programmers take on projects way above their skill level. Those hobby programmers have no clue about anything. Second chances are for people who want to actually redeem themselves. They could have kept working on The Day Before, like Hello Games did on No Man's Sky or create a new company and work on a new small game in silence, release it on STEAM (not early access) and show everyone they are now seriously working as game devs. Instead they come back with same antiques that are no different than before. Looking for free money, free labour and use the term "professionalism" like they know what it means.
They're not even programmers, just wannabe business men. Thry did identify a market with potential, but then they just lied about their abilities, and promised every buzzword to the masses. And then they tried to cobble it together with the cheapest and lowest quality assets and workforce.
Fntastics slogan is equivalent to: "Build Back Better" Force the reason why the brothers FNtastic didn't care about the proceeds from The Day Before is because all the money they made was from their publisher while "working" on the game. Think at least one brother was getting 6 figures. I'll bet most of the money from games sales was to go to the publisher, another reason for them not to care.

I don’t know if other channels or sites pinned in on it as soon as Force did but it is something that still caught me surprise that not everyone already knew.

Their volunteers had to pay a fine if work were not done in time, if you try to quit there was a threat of debt and their development roadmap was like: playing spiderman and saying, 'we want this by next week'
Like many others, I wishlisted The Day Before as soon as I saw the initial trailer, and couldn't wait for it's release. You were the first one I saw start talking about your suspicions with how it would turn out. Kept me from spending time and money on that game. You know what I find very weird they say its a prop hunt game ( which they made before and it failed after like 2 weeks) but then the game play is like some co-op fall guys that turns out to be an asset flip and they need money to finish it when it looks finished.... if anyone gives them money that's totally on you and I hope there's no refunds this time.

You forgot a very crucial point in their Kickstarter. They say: "All of the artwork in Escape Factory is handcrafted by our dedicated team. From the characters to the factory environments, every detail is carefully crafted to bring the game world to life. We put heart into designing each part, ensuring everything feels unique and full of personality." But, as it turns out, they are using free assets and some bought assets available on the internet. So, yeah, every detail is carefully handcrafted indeed. 😆 Add to this that most of the code in their demo comes from a freely available Unity demo. So this whole thing is just an asset flip they're attempting to cash in on. Heck, even the company's name feels like a ripoff of Fnatic.
