Heated hand grips are a must when it is extremely cold, and you are out blowing snow. I found that one can use lighter gloves when using the heated hand grips. Before my purchase of a new snow blower with the heated hand grips, my hands would get quite cold even wearing heavily insolated gloves on my old 1980 Toro 524. That's right, a 1980 Toro that still works perfectly minus the heated hand grips. Sense the old Toro has a spring assisted scraper bar it cleans my cement driveway right down to the pavement. I did upgrade the old Toro with an impeller kit which really helps in wet heavy snow. My new Toro Power Max HD 1232 blows any kind of snow 50 to 60 feet. These new HD snow blowers with 14 in impeller and augers systems can really launch the snow. Ariens and Toro HD machines are hard to beat for the price. Looked at Honda but they are just too expensive for what snow I remove every winter. If I lived in a lake effect snow belt area the Honda might be worth the added expense to own one. Plus, a wheeled snow blower is much easier to maneuver in less you really need a track blower for added traction. Ariens has a nice track drive system if one needs that setup for added traction. Or, if you have the money Honda is hard to beat when it comes to track driven snow blowers. You made adding the hard warmer kit on your Ariens look quite easy. I am sure many will follow suite after watching your well-done video. Thanks for sharing.

Not all snow blowers have the same size handlebars. My Toro has 1-1/4" handlebars so heated grip are not easy to find in that size. My solution (which I've done many times to motorcycles and ATVs) is to just to install grip heaters. They are thin heat elements that stick to the handlebars under the grips. They are also much cheaper than heated grips. You can get them thru several places (Amazon, Walmart, etc.) and I've even found them at some fleet farm stores. Some snowmobile dealer also carry them. They work great! I have them on my snowblower!

By the way - before you put the plugs in the pipe handles (around the 6:50 mark) - filling the tubes (at least the length of the handles) with spray foam insulation will increase the handwarmers efficiency, as it is they have to heat up your hands as well as an empty pipe, filling that empty space makes 'em work a lot better.

G'day mate, just hoping for some ideas and any suggestions/DIY for finger warmers when using a keyboard and a mouse? Not desktop mats - as they dont take the chill off the fingers. Recently diagnosed with Raynaud's and its getting very painful to use a keyboard and mouse without having to heat the whole entire room up. Envavo Heatbuff seemed like the most promising thing - but they are out of production.
