Is the 2023 Kia Sportage X-Pro a better SUV than a Toyota RAV4 TRD?

  • The NEW redesigned Sportage is here and Kia is ready to raise the compact SUV bar. This SUV competes with the MazdaCX-5, Nissan Rogue, Hyundai Tucson, Honda CR-V & Toyota RAV4. On the outside you will find all new sheet metal, unique wheels, color and trim. On the inside there is more passenger room, 10.25in infotainment system, and leather wrapped steering wheel. Under the hood is a 2.5L inline-4 that pumps out 187HP. Is the 2023 Kia Sportage X-Pro a better SUV than a Toyota RAV4 TRD?

    Wife and I spent months car shopping. Test drove everything in this sector: Rav 4, CRV, Forrester, Rogue, Tucson, and escape and honestly nothing felt as put together as the Sportage did. The only real draw back was the 2.5 na engine that, let's be honest, is enough for 95% of everyone who's buying this. We personally thought the X Pro Prestige was the better car than all the other ones we drove, and with Kia's warranty it's worth the risk to give the new refresh a go!

    • @jond4328
      @jond4328 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah its actually Hyundai's warranty, Hyundai's engine, Hyundai's sheet metal & frame metal from THERE Steel Mill, Hyundai's decision to buy out Peter Schreyer from Audi to design Kia vehicles and well the Sportage goes away from that Audi design because Hyundai bought out Luc Donckerwolke who was Bentley, Lamborghini and Audi chef designer and who has now replaced Schreyer. Just figured I'd lay some facts out for you beings you all keep giving the credit to Kia. Kia would have long been at the bottom of the Ocean if Hyundai didn't buy them and save the Brand. I myself like a lot of Kia's designs. But why would I purchase the generic brand when I can actually go straight to the source and get an ACTUAL Hyundai!

    • @_bluewoman
      @_bluewoman 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@jond4328 Thanks for the information. Hyundai definitely saved Kia's tail no doubt about it. But I personally still liked the look and the way the Kia drove and felt far more than the Tucson we almost got. While parent companies of course give all the credit, it's a bit redundant to just call everything by the parent company. If I'm enjoying a good bowl of Froot Loops I'm not going to say "this is a good bowl of Kellogg's". But I digress, thankful that there are more reliable, affordable options out there now. Have a great day Jon!

      I’ve had my Kia Forte for 9 years and if it was AWD I’d drive it for as long as I could it’s still in amazing mechanical working condition has some hail damage now but that’s the weathers fault not Kia’s. It’s held up remarkably I’ve got some serious brand loyalty now we also bought a Kia storage a few years ago and are obsessed. I think I’ll
      Be upgrading my forte to the new sportage and be twinning with my husband on our SUVs. Kia has come a long way and they stand by their vehicles it gives me so much peace of mind. Don’t be scared Kia is amazing.

    Yo Joe! Good review. Not interested in this model because the 2.5 is noisy and underpowered IMO. I’m thinking the hybrid SX Prestige would be a better choice ie, mileage, quickness, quietness,etc. Haven’t driven one yet but looking forward to it. I’m also waiting for Lokey Kia to offer you a test drive in the hybrid.

      He makes stuff up. Top speed is 124mph. Also says that mpg is 24 and 42 when it's 23 and 28. Says that towing is 2500 lbs when the X-Pro is 1653. Says that it weighs 3800 lbs when it's 3543. He sucks as a reviewer.

    Yes, It is. Better exterior, much better interior plus better price what do you need more? In my opinion this model has better inside dash than BMW X3. Of couse everything is plastic fantastic but for this money it is an excellent chioce.

    Oh men , May be my first KIA, I was waiting o the new CRV 2023 but this just has so much Tech and package , I’ve read that the 12.5 screen doesn’t have Wireless CarPlay Joe? Is this right? Has there been a software update? This might kill it for me and would need to go with the 8” 😏

    We own a 2015 Ford Flex Limited and don’t like the AC touch screen controls. I would prefer actual buttons and knobs that never fail. This Sportage’s touch screen AC buttons is an instant disqualified for me.

    Missed opportunity here. The 2.5NA is quite "Meh." Need to offer it with the 2.0T from the Elantra N, or the previous Santa Fe. Not everyone wants the hybrid and we need some options.
