Unfortunately you'll have to. Word is Nissan is discontinuing the Rogue in the near future. Nissan usually ends the cheaper models first before it ultimately ends the line altogether. The Rogue Sport is no longer available which is the cheapest model.

13:10 Its not just a revised Jatco, its luckily a brand new generation CVT-X as of 22+ model Rogues, and doesn't share any parts with the last generation CVTs. Has wider ratios, dual pumps, improved belt, higher torque rating, that should in theory be a lot more reliable if you follow the 30-60K mile CVT fluid change intervals.

Last owned a Toyota for 13 years. Giving a '23 Rogue Platinum a try this time. Great value, made in Japan, fuel efficient without having to pay for a hybrid battery. Very happy with it so far, but time will tell. I still like Toyota, but silly supply issues during that pandemic were frustrating. I was not going to pay more than new price for a used Toyota. The Rogue Platinum was 12k less than a new Rav 4 limited. And it has some better features.

      Yeah but it's a 1.5l 3cyl..... 3 cylinders??
      Not made to last.
      I drove the 2021 1.5l 4cyl and I agree, they're amazing inside.
I have a '21 rav4 and I hate it because there's a gas limiter on the throttle.... so if you floor it, you'll get all RPM but no increase in speed. You're at the mercy of how fast the car wants to speed up. All toyotas are like that.
Nissans put a switch at the bottom of the pedal so when you floor it the car knows you wanna speed up really fast.
So I'd take a nissan with a cvt over a toyota with 8 speed automatic with a gas limiter.
I've almost been rear ended twice from not being able to speed up fast when I need to.
Cvts drive amazing, they just don't last long.
If they switched the rubber belts with a sprocket and chain system, I guarantee cvts like that would dominate.

      Nah I'm good.
      I'd take a 3.6l v6 with 300hp all day over that.
My suv has a 2.5l 4cyl and is slow asf because it has a gas limiter on the throttle. Total bullshit.

Smooth running, very quiet, great sound system very comfortable, great visibility (being higher than other vehicles you can often see over them), tons room and storage. Really good on gas, great in the snow ( l live in CT and ive never gotten stuck in snow) and overall, I havent had much issues with them. They are not the most exciting things to drive, but they are hella dependable! I also like that the new one I have feels faster and handles better... so id recommend it to people that want a good safe car that wont break so easily and wont break the bank when you have to do repairs eventually.

Sounds like you change cars every handful of years. In that case almost any Japanese car would be reliable. It's getting pass 10 years or 100k miles without drama is the real challenge and Nissans are not that great in this department unless you religiously change the engine oil every 5k/6mo and 20k/2yr for the CVT. Only then you have a chance at making it to 100k without major issues.

I never through I would have a Japanese car, yet alone a Nissan, but after going to dealer after dealer demanding addendums and fluff and other markups on their hybrid, this was the only non-hybrid that still had pretty competitive fuel economy. I was also able to negotiate $500 under MSRP and only a few addons I didn't want (overpriced floormats and mudflaps), for a Rogue S that does 37mpg on the highway on 87 octane! It needed a few cheap addons from amazon and aliexpress, but after just a couple hundred bucks to take care of a few cheap-out things on the base model, I'm super happy!

The Rav4 is overdue for a refresh though, and between the non-hybrid Rav4 that you can get and the markup and unavailability of the Rav4 hybrids, the Nissan is a nicer option. If you check Consumer Reports 2023 automotive edition, they rightfully IMO rank the Rogue turbo higher than the Rav4 turbo (non-hybrid). Hopefully soon hybrid prices will come down, but for now, its hard to justify with all the greedy dealers out there, and 37mpg for a non-hybrid of its size is very good IMO. Highest I have gotten so far hypermiling is 47.3mpg, but my lifetime average over 7K miles it says is only 32.3mpg, but still good.

One issue. Nissan made the decision to delete the universal garage door opener included in other makes base models. Not sure why they leave out something you use almost every day yet include other features you might use once or twice per year.
I purchased a 2023 Rogue and after getting home I told my wife I was going out to program our garage doors into it. After a long search, a search of owners manual I call the dealership and I’m told I’m overlooking it. 30-45 minutes later they call back to tell me Nissan stopped putting those in their vehicles.
I have since learned you can order another mirror With garage opener installed at dealership for roughly 300.00 but you shouldn’t have to take that step

I have a rav4. I love it. I bought it in 2019 for 32K (got 4K off at the time). Have had 0 issues, besides some minor recalls which got fixed for free. Just got an offer from car max to buy it for 29k. Resale value would be much less on a Nissan (about 22k for a comparable model with the same miles). I average 35 mpg on the highway going 80 and I feel super safe!

2019 prices don't exist anymore. The wait time on a Rav4 Prime hybrid is currently at 16 months. Markups on available hybrids are a joke, at least as of the time I was shopping a few months back. The reason your resale is so high is because of Toyota's huge markups because of lack of production, whereas Nissan has had no problem producing a high number of Rogues and so new Rogue prices are much lower than new Rav4 prices, which affects used prices. That said, the Rogue's estimated 5 year resale value is 55%, which is above industry average and considered good.

I have a 23 Rogue SV trim, no you cannot manual shift using the gear lever because all 2023 Rogue's use an electronic gear shifter. So you are forced to only use the paddle shifters If you want to manually shift your 23 Rogue.

I've had my 2022 Rogue SV (best value) for 1.5 yrs and I like the 32mpg average, nice quiet ride, engine is smooth, just gets raspy loud if you have to put your foot down but that's rare. The AC and heat are a little problematic, as the temp coming out on the driver's side is 2-3 degrees warmer than on the passenger side, but it's a minor issue for an otherwise really good vehicle.

I went Rogue and happy with it. At the time I was looking for a vehicle Nissan was the only one willing to deal. Happy with the deal I got on a lease which about 100+ less than anybody else's lease numbers, including Kia, Jeep, Toyota, Hyundai, few others. I got the SV, they actually marked it down from 32 to 30, everybody else was stuck on dealer markups. Still fairly loaded, quiet on the road, power is ample especially when the turbo kicks in. Mileage is decent, has good room inside even for the passengers. Liking it.
