As I started watching this our 23 month old who can’t see the video but can hear the voices says “Shane!” lol A mini supporter in the making. Glad you guys are okay!
Hannah nailed that response! She sounds like someone you'd want to have around in an emergency. Hope those neighbours get their gate fixed properly. And maybe get additional barriers so there's more than one thing keeping their dogs safely inside
I applaud you, Hannah. You did everything exactly right! You didn't panic, you controlled Chloe, and you used a firm, confident tone. Dogs play a little game to test people, to see who are the pushovers and who are not. You passed the test. I am glad you are all safe, but it can be frightening the first time, especially. I just wish that whoever is taking down the internet would grow up and leave it alone. I don't know about there, but, up here, the land lines are connected through the same fibre as the internet. Disrupting the internet is annoying, but no outside contact could be fatal for an elderly person who doesn't use the internet or a cellphone. Take care, both of you, and I hope you enjoy your company. Looking forward to the next post.
You did great Hannah. It's the most terrifying thing to encounter. I'm in a wheelchair and was walking my dog, out of nowhere a Staffordshire Bull Terrier came and latched onto my puppy, a neighbour had to come and literally jump on its back as it had its jaws locked onto my dog. My dog had a few puncture wounds. So now I always carry a stick. You guys must of been terrified. But what you did Hannah is what any Trainer would recommend I'm sure 🐾🐾🌸
It's possible that they'd never seen a motorized wheelchair before and might not have recognized you as humans! I am very happy that Hannah was able to fend them off. You two ROCK!
And here we have the problem solver, the one who goes deep thinking they know exactly what went down. Just enjoy the clip already, Noone needs your input. Lmao
That was a very close call! I have had a similar experience and it is so scary! Way to stay cool and take charge Hannah! So glad you all are okay! I love that you hired a cleaning service to freshen up your home after it was empty all summer! Great idea, and you got them to sponsor this video! Sweet deal! The ending was irresistible! So well played 😁 Much love across the miles ♥️
So glad you are all safe…I just hope that there’s no younger kids in the neighborhood who could be hurt by those dogs. I would definitely approach the owners to avoid that from happening 😮
You did the exact right thing. Never run, that makes their prey drive stronger. I recently saw something about a bite stick they sell on Amazon that helps safely break up dog fights. Pepper spray should be carried too.
I love the way you guys tell a story!🎉🎉 even though the story is unnerving and I’m on the edge of my seat. I also feel the humor which is what I love so much about your channel.
I'm in a power wheelchair, I OFTEN hear dogs bark even from inside their houses when I pass by. I've had dogs run towards me, if they're not on a leash or chain. But I fully believe the motor of the chair irritates the dog. Dogs truly terrify me if I see them out. I just freeze if I see them down the sidewalk or road.
yeh my dog does not like scootmobiles at all. I think you're right about the noise. But what is even worse is when a helper dog runs besides it. She always start barking then which is very distracting for the assist dog
You are my hero, Hannah! It’s incredible that you were able to take charge of the situation instead of freezing, like most people naturally would! And wow these irresponsible people need to be reported, this is not cool
Amazing that you had this in you. Such a mother bear kind of reaction. It's honestly really inspiring. Amazing how it can feel like we're the victim and have no control over the situation but we actually have in us the power to stand up to our fears kind of thing. And then they just cower from us and leave us alone. Really a powerful story.
Quick action, Hannah! I've used that "scolding" technique twice on a neighbors pit bull that was able to go over their tall wooden fence. The first time I saved a woman walking quickly up to me when I was outside. "Help", she pleaded, looking back at the dog stalking her. "GO HOME !" I yelled sternly, pointing in the direction they came from. The dog stopped walking and looked at me... I repeated my command and he slowly turned around, not as apologetically as your two aggressors, but he did leave. The woman took a breath and said "Thank you". The next time it happened I was by myself walking home past that dogs' house when he leaped out from behind a bush with a burst of barking and snarling with his lips curled up like a wolf! It surprised me so I screamed first, then saw he was still in attack mode and I remembered to yell "No! Bad dog!". He ran to his solid wood fence and leaped up getting his front paws over the edge, he pulled himself up and over like a trained police dog that won a metal for Fence Jumping. I went to the front door of his house and banged so hard and so long (adrenaline !), that I bruised all my knuckles. Nobody answered the door. Their next door neighbor heard me pounding on the door and came over to explain that "He really is a nice dog but is left alone too often."
So scary! My daughter was walking our dog at a park on a leash and he was attacked by two dogs off leash. He nearly died from the bites. It was so traumatic! He was terrified to go for walks for a long time. I carry pepper spray now, thought I'm not sure how useful it would be.
I feel your terror as I have been through a very similar situation when walking my son's dog. Although I scooped up the dog (fortunately small enough for me to pick up) the attacking dog was able to bite his rear leg resulting in a very large vet bill. It still sends shivers through me and I was very thankful I only had the dog with me and not my new granddaughter too.
I had a similar experience in petsmart a few weeks ago, we've been working with a trainer to help break my dog of her people/animal reactivity which includes trips out in public just walking thru stores that allow dogs. So we're doing that, minding our business, and suddenly a solid 120-ish lb pitbull comes charging after us from across the store... luckily my 60 lb dog is quick and able to get away, but she did get bit at a few times. thankfully no injuries, but it could've been sooo much worse and probably will be worse for the next dog that gets attacked by that pitbull... we were both so shook up after that. needless to say, that's the last type of encounter my pup needed when we're mid-reactivity training... glad yalls encounter didn't end up worse!!
Los Angeles is one of the highest cities in dog attacks so I agree with other commenters. It should be reported just because Hannah is fortunate enough to have handled the situation that could’ve been an old person or young person and the outcome could’ve been very different.
Honestly That's also because LA is ONE OF THE WORST CITIES for dog fighting rings. Either these dogs sadly are apart of one or they were rescued from one and still are working on behavior.
We have had several attacks by the same dog on our street (not us thankfully). He has gone after other people’s dogs 4 times. The neighborhood does report it to the police. We were scared to at first because we don’t want him put down, but it actually helped because they got fines and were forced to get a fence, etc.
Sorry that happened to you both. I have a scary story about a rabid dog back in the 90s when rabbies were running wild with outside animals. It came out of nowhere when I was walking, and it was foaming and growling. I just remembered running for dear life. I love all animals but I was so scared.
Once while jogging in a rural area that I lived in, five dogs came barreling toward me snarling and barking like they wanted to kill me. I immediately remembered something my dad had told me to do years before if ever a dog came out after me. It was basically what you did. Though first I covered my throat with one arm, and with my deepest, most commanding voice, I shouted “Bad dogs, bad dogs! Go home! Go home, bad dogs!“ And all of them turned, tucked their tales between their legs and ran for home. Normally I would run with handfuls of pebbles rocks. Because no one kept their dogs in a yard behind fences are in kennels, encounters with loose dogs on my route was common, but that day I was just kind of daydreaming and forgot to pick up the rocks. I was only a teenager and I was all alone, and he said it worked. Thanks, dad! 😇
We moved to a big city and the first summer we lived here my hubby was charged 3 times by dogs. In one instance someone came running out of his house to help (he did not know the dog). In another the owner was nearby and called the dog off but not before he drew blood from our dog. We now walk with pepper gel spray AND a big oak walking stick. It's a real problem here and nothing is being done to owners of the loose dogs. So glad they didn't bite you or your dog!
we have the same problem where i live!!! my husband got me bear spray to carry when i walk our dog but a walking stick would be a good idea! my hands are just always full as is though trying to train her to loose leash walk
oh hannah full of grrrrrrrrrrace! btw is the plant in the back ground a mary jane? I love your content so much! thank you so much for all you do, you two.
I wonder if the internet providers are cutting the lines so they can make money off of the repairs! 😅 Glad you guys are ok. That is a stressful situation. My service dog was attacked multiple times in a store! They let all dogs in now instead of asking the two questions. I was also walking the dogs in my neighborhood and the neighbors dog jumped through their screened window! Thankfully he just wanted to say hi but my heart stopped for a moment!
Hey guys, my name is Matt I'm 38 I have cerebral palsy and I'm wheelchair dependent I'm usually a very inspiring person, I'm getting back to the man that I wanna be after going through a bad marriage and years of abuse. I just wanna let you guys know you guys give me hope that All find someone again that will treat me the way I deserve to be treated. As far as the dogs Hannah that's exactly what you do.
good instincts, hannah! my puppy and i recently got charged by three large off leash dogs at the park, and they took us both down (we're okay just bruised). i wish i could've thought faster in the moment but it's scary!
It's like when you're a little kid and maybe you're just having a bad day and someone other than your own parents disciplines you and you're just like ahhh crap you're right my bad lmaoooo But in all seriousness glad you guys are ok!!! That is a super scary encounter you guys were put in!
Last year a king corso jumped our fence and came at me while I had my dog on a lead. Our dog was recovering from massive burns and she had a cone and full body bandages. I did the same thing. This king corso is about 120 pounds. I stood my ground and told him to go home. He stopped, kept barking but eventually went back and jumped back over the fence. It was super scary. My neighbor was mortified it happend and we got a pie out of the encounter. Our neighbors are great and usually are very attentive with their dog. It was just a freak incident, but yikes.
I'm glad nothing bad happened! My little dog was attacked by a neighbors dog back in March. She ended up needing staples in her neck. Such a scary experience
Omg one time I went for a walk with my 50 lb dog and texted my husband to join us when he got home from work. I was 7 months pregnant and as my husband rounds the corner he sees me like half a block down and a Rottweiler come barreling out of this guys yard growling and snarling. I snatched my dog up on my shoulders and started using a deep voice and commanding him to stop and go home. My husband was running frantic yelling “you’re 7 months pregnant! Run and leave the dogs to work it out!” Lol by the time he got to me the guy had gotten to us and leashed his dog. My husband was PISSED at this guy for letting his dog loose. Like you said, it all happens so fast. Adrenaline is real lol
I remember when I was in 10th grade waiting for my schoolbus at the stop, someone was walking their huge dog and I guess they took off the leash or maybe didn't have one in the first place I can't recall but I remember the dog spotting me from afar and then just charged. I closed my eyes like a pigeon and just waited for whatever was about to happen happen. 😅 Luckily the dog was just being friendly, sort of gave me a high five, saw I was not interested since I had my eyes shut tight and obviously a defensive pose and went away after a few jumps around. Listening to your encounter made me relive the terror but I am glad everything turned out fine like it did with me. I am with Chloe and Shane on this, even I have more respect for Hannah, and I just listened to the story. P.S. I wonder if they fixed the gate yet.
You did the right thing… I had a stray dog experience and ended up going through a series of rabies shots. 😢…12 shots the first day. It was an awful experience. Different situation, it was a stray, but the rabies vaccine has horrible side effects. Glad it worked out. 😊
I'm glad you're all ok, it could've been so much worse! You were lucky it was those "sweet" dogs & not...well...you know what I mean. Maybe carry some pepper spray for those ones that arent just trying to make friends. Be safe
Hi Hannah and Shane. This comment isn't about this current video, which I won't be viewing for some time. Rather, it's regarding a video from 3 years ago which I'm currently watching, Revealing Shane's New Job. Halfway thru that vid, I had to stop and purchase the first (and possibly ONLY) season of Ordinary Joe, really only due to Shane's involvement. Halfway thru the first episode, and I'm hooked and absolutely looking forward to finishing the shows run. I just want to reiterate a previous comment of mine (a month or so ago) that I truly enjoy the content of your vids and I only hope the best for you both, and I look forward to watching your videos until I catch up to current. Hannah, your Mom is a beautiful, vivacious lady, and your dad looks so much like an actor I like, tho I can't recall his name today. (It will probably come to me as soon as I hit send. Lol.) Love you guys. rick
This is wonderful what Hannah did. I don’t think I would have thought of that. However, I don’t understand why you didn’t knock on the dog owner’s door. You needed to tell them what happened, and the dogs could still get out as they had broken down the gate or door.
Stuff like that is always crazy and so scary. I had a roommate who had a dog and we would go to a dog park that was basically at like a pig farm. One day we were there and another person with their two dogs was there, and the pigs got out. My roommate's dog was well behaved and we got him in the car right away but the other two dogs started trying to attack the pig and definitely got a bite on its ear at one point, super scary, dogs are amazing but they are definitely still wild animals when they feel they need to be

I am glad the 3 of you are ok 😊

For real…

Hannah, you acted so well!, more like a momma bear🤭I’m so glad you are ok. You need to report it to the owners.
Hannah was so brave. Thank goodness they listened to her and went back home. 😊

Shane I love the way you say runnnnnn. Also the sorry mam for trying to attack you.
Glad everything turned out ok! Just here to add: I’m a longtime follower. Hannah gets more and more gorgeous every year that passes!
That’s why I carry air horns. One in my dog bag and one in my purse. Scares the crap out of everyone but it WILL break up a fight
So funny when Shane said “I’ve been listening to you better”. 🤣😂

You poor guys glad your okay
There’s actually a spray you can get like mace spray that’s specifically for dogs.
Lol.) Love you guys. rick
Jon Voight, Angelina Jolie's dad.
Whatever happened to Junkyard mayhem? I enjoyed that podcast
I went through the same situation.
Wow Hannah! Super heroine! You are the BOM! I would feel safe if ever I was with you!!!!
i always have pepper spray clipped to a belt loop
This is wonderful what Hannah did. I don’t think I would have thought of that. However, I don’t understand why you didn’t knock on the dog owner’s door. You needed to tell them what happened, and the dogs could still get out as they had broken down the gate or door.
Hannah is so beautiful ❤
Stuff like that is always crazy and so scary. I had a roommate who had a dog and we would go to a dog park that was basically at like a pig farm. One day we were there and another person with their two dogs was there, and the pigs got out. My roommate's dog was well behaved and we got him in the car right away but the other two dogs started trying to attack the pig and definitely got a bite on its ear at one point, super scary, dogs are amazing but they are definitely still wild animals when they feel they need to be
You need to find a new walking route!
