I have 6 of these reels and they're all in working order. I bought them in the early 80's. I still use two of them and I'm pleased with there performance. Keep'em clean and they last forever!
Dante, I like these Procaster reels. They seem to work pretty well and are very durable. I like the new bearings much better than the old plastic ones.
I had one of those reels, it was my favorite I used it for ten years. They work really well I wish they would reintroduce them but that’s wishful thinking.
Thanks for the video. I got the pma10s for my birthday when I was 11-12. I was so happy. Traveled all over with it. Still works great. The anti backlash dial no longer clicks but still functional.
Hey man I have a vintage daiwa bw2L on the way, do you know anything about them? It’s in great condition but I would like to send it to you for a full service when it comes in if you’re up for it!
I hope I can get it running. It is my first two speed reel and I'm not real sure how it is supposed to work yet. The parts are fitting together too tightly.
Jim, I oiled under the jack plate instead of using grease. I feel two flat surfaces are unlikely to create much wear as long as they are oiled. Grease would be fine too but it’s difficult to get it under the plate without removing it. Thanks for the input.
It isn't a pretty reel but it works great. The new sealed bearings helped a lot, I think they are smoother than the plastic and steel ones. I've got your name on it.
@@youngmartinsreels5314 one weekend I’ll head to your place and get it. Plus since I found my other bait caster, maybe we can find a nut for the handle.
I’ll be around next weekend. I’ll be busy the following two weekends. By all means bring that reel. Make sure you have a few hours and we’ll service it as well.

Good ones can still be found for sale if you watch carefully.

Lol!!!! That spring got you good Rick!!!
It didn't take me long to find it, but it was irritating that I popped it off while explaining how things worked.
@@youngmartinsreels5314 lol!
Reminds me of my Shimano Bantam 10 from 1986. Thanks for the video Rick.
They do look a lot alike don’t they.
Yes I am interested in purchasing that reel
Can’t wait to see that shimano reel worked on rick.

@@youngmartinsreels5314 wow, must be in really bad shape
You should have put some grease underneath the spool disengaging plate. It's rubbing metal on metal. It will wear there with no lubricant.

I’ll buy it!!! Rick

@@youngmartinsreels5314 ok, sounds good. I’ll text you when I head that way.
Before I head that way
Wow, that bearing was in there stuck wasn’t it Rick.
When it pooped out it came out in pieces. The new one dropped right in.
What's the line capacity of the PM10S and would the PR10G have that same capacity and be able to use thos same new bearings?
I have no idea. I get the reels across my bench and I take them apart, figure out how they work and put them back together. I am not an expert at all.
That Diawa reel was pretty dirty rick.
It was very dirty and corroded.
Most of the parts were pretty sticky coming off.
I don't think it had ever been serviced, and I'm pretty sure it had some saltwater use.
