    THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!! I JUST bought a used one about 2 hours ago - rod and reel combo for $20. It seems to work fine, but has a tiny squeak so I decided to take it apart to clean and lube it. I do it every year or so with my other reels, but this is only my second baitcaster, and the first one I'll take apart, because the other is a new Abu Garcia. I can't thank you enough.

      These are nice designs that will last as long as they are cared for on a regular basis. Best wishes for tight lines - Dennis

    I found your channel this year And have had extra time on my hands I started collecting older reels and your videos They are the best information and instructions you could find anywhere online keep up the good work On a side note I had a question I recently picked up a Dam quick finesse It's quite a large real Roughly the same size as my daiwa 7350RL Just wondering how to find out how old it is Also wondering if the mechanic should all be the same as I fish right handed so I would like to switch the inners Thanks

      Here is a site that has a lot of information on the models and age of the reels home.kpn.nl/roland.lindenberh/index.html The mechanics are very similar throughout the line - Thanks - Dennis

    I'm troubleshooting magforce on an old BW2, it seems to be maxed out no matter the setting. I've serviced it as best as I can, but it looks like the central magnet is spinning freely and I suspect that's the issue. Do you have any videos covering this, or any suggestions?

    • @2ndChanceTackle
      @2ndChanceTackle  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I do not have any videos, but those mags get dirty over time and that can cause issues. Also, if they have broken loose and are spinning freely, it is probably from age and that is something that cannot be repaired

      I reglued the center magnet and it now casts twice as far and operates as it should have.

      A lot of these reels only make minor changes between models. That may be what is happening here

    Good morning Dennis, I just purchased a similar reel (Procaster Magforce PMF1000) that i will be servicing soon. I purchased it as a sentimental reel as it was my 1st baitcaster. IF I remember correctly, the manual said not to open the magnet side of the reel. Do you know if that is correct and how would I or do i need to service that side? Thank You

    • @2ndChanceTackle
      @2ndChanceTackle  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't have the manual, but generally there is nothing going on in the non-gear side, so you only need to oil the back bearing. That can be done through the case and without removing the side plate - Dennis

    Hi again can you tell me if their is one better Abu Garcia 7000 then the other .

    • @2ndChanceTackle
      @2ndChanceTackle  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Like the others, there are several different versions of this saltwater sized Ambassadeur reel. They are all very dependable and will last a long time. If you are considering one, I would recommend the models made in Sweden - Dennis

      @@2ndChanceTackle that's what I was thinking

    This ALMOST worked great!! I have my reel all cleaned up, looking nice, and all the parts move smooth and quiet... but... in putting it back together the reel post spins without engaging the gears unless I have the drag adjuster attached and tightened enough to add a little tension - then that eventually works loose. It won't work only partially assembled like yours does. ??? Also I found two tiny brass bushings on the table that I don't see in your video, and can't figure out where they fell out of. Any idea what I might have goofed up, or a step I missed that isn't covered? And any way to send you pics of the bushings to see if you can identify them?
    Otherwise, I still say it's a great video, and the issues, I'm sure, are on my end.
    I have a channel where I do the same thing you're doing here, only with firearms, so I understand the hassle of asking you, but I thought I'd try.
    Thanks!

    something wrong..the star drag washers , was up the cotton and down the metal, you asembled at the inverse. Martin

    • @2ndChanceTackle
      @2ndChanceTackle  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes - I installed it the inverse of the way it was. Whoever serviced the reel previously put the fabric washer on top. It belongs in the main gear with the metal keyed washer on top. That is why I put it back different than it was.
