    Thanks so much for posting this video and perfect instructions. I used it to replace the actuator in my 2006 Yukon Denali. You saved me $685. I got the part for $15 from Amazon. Stealership wanted $700 to repair this.

      I love reading feedback like this. It's ridiculous what shops want to charge for something so simple that we can do ourselves. I'm glad my video was helpful and thanks for commenting. It lets me know people are still watching. 👍

    Bravo. I paid $124 from a local auto parts store for my actuator but using this video I effortlessly and successfully installed it myself. If you knew how inept I am when it comes to automotive DIY you would all be inspired to do this repair yourself.

    I found it not necessary to remove any of the cables. Downloaded instructions from Doorman and looked at your video. 15 minutes tops from time backed into my garage and back on the road. Thanx much.

    Ben, you did a great job explaining how to do this... plus, your video on how to remove interior tailgate panels. I thank you, so much, for I have just finished replacing the actuator in 2005 Escalade, following your instructions! Your attention to detail was most helpful, for I never dreamed this old gal would be doing such a thing, and you made me feel I could - and, I did!

    Very informative. Didn't miss anything out, and the view on the whole mechanism is clear to see what is being done as you do it. Swapped my whole assembly out in about 20min. 30min if you count putting the trim pieces back on since those can be stubborn.

Sent it back in and ordered another from a different source. this one worked for about 2 weeks. Now it doesn't work any longer. Looks like it also has blown the 10A fuse labeled ECC (on the left side of the dash). I've heard that there are two fuses or a fuse and a breaker. Can you shed light on this?

    • @benjamin9755

      Good question, When my actuator stopped working it was in the unlocked position. Meaning I wasn't able to lock my rear gate and lock the glass. If your actuator stopped working in the locked position while your rear door is closed then you will not be able to open either. You will then have to crawl in and force your hands in between the panels to reach the cables that unlocked your tailgate. I hope I've been of some help.

    How did you get the hatch to open ? My hatch want unlock for me to change the actuator

    • @benjamin9755
      @benjamin9755  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was lucky that when my actuator went out on me it was in the unlocked position. I wasn't able to lock mine.

      Ok, thanks. When i put my ear to the door i hear the actuator locking, but when i hit the unlock, i hear nothing. Would you say that the actuator is my problem

    • @benjamin9755
      @benjamin9755  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrJames1111111111 I would say yes. I didn't film it or put it in the video but my actuator would sound like it wanted to lock but wouldn't. So I opened it and the gears inside the part were worn and kept getting stuck keeping it from locking.

      If you hear & know power is definitely going to the door. I would replace the part.
