    You may have solved my ac problem!! Omg the front doesn’t blow out all the vents- only the defrost vents not the face or floor- and only blows hot. Only blows hot in the rear also but all vents. The actuator doesn’t get cold is it suppose to? I was thinking it wasn’t working until I seen this. I m in the green with R134a so I didn’t add any. I bought the truck used for my sons 1st car and when we test drove it- it worked fine and cold, but when we bought it the next day it didn’t work at all. Now in the front under the glove box in the floor the wires look like the where re- tapped. After looking at that mess one of the wires has an end with nothing in it and nothing to connect it to, the other is connect together with a blue connector in the middle of a group of 2 other wire sets. The blower is there as well. Once we looked at the front started blowing out again but like I said not out all of the vents. Any ideas?

    • @AxlesGarage
      @AxlesGarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      As for the hot/cold air, there is a blend door for the rear and 1 or 2 of them for the front. Unplugged wires under the dash is not always a problem. Sometimes the harness will have the wiring for all options but the truck may not have some of those options, therefore there will be wires with no where to go.

    I have a question I have a 2000 Chevy Suburban LT 1500 I know I need a heater core for the front. And I do need a rear door blend actuator for the back. The question that I have is if I need a heater core for the front does that mean if I get the rear door blend activator before I get the heater core is the rear door blend activator going to work. The heater core run the heat through the whole vehicle right.

    • @AxlesGarage
      @AxlesGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Should be separate front and rear heater cores, but all part of same system, so if your coolant is leaking out of the front, thats the same coolant you will be low on going to the rear.

    You don’t need to remove the rear bench to remove the side panels. You just pop all the clips out on the panel, and simply lift it up and take out. There’s plenty of room over the seat to do that. Hell, you can even rest the panel over the two rear rows of seats while you do your work.

      Yes, that's an option. Unplug the motor and take the motor off. Use a pair of pliers to turn the door shaft to the position you want it. Then stick a pair off needle nose pliers in shaft-spot on motor, turn that until it lines up with the shaft in its new position so you can mount it back up. Then mount the motor back up, but don't plug in the electrical connection. This will keep it there so the door won't accidentally move when you hit a bump.

      Both of the AC actuators have stopped working on my wife’s 2005 Escalade. In Texas we don’t need the heat as much as the AC. So until I can order the new actuators, we removed the actuators and figured out that the Rear blend door needs to be turned all the way right for the cold air, and the Forward blend door needs to be turned all the way right to direct air flow to the roof vents.
      Then we opened the actuator housings using a small flat tip screwdriver, and temporarily removed one of the gears, placed the actuators back on the rear AC housing and adjusted the blend door shafts to the full right position, install the gear, and the install the covering to the actuator (to hold all the gears in place). Then install the 3 screws that holds the actuator in place. Check that the cold air blows, and then put all the plastic pieces back together.
      **This “fix” only allows the cold air part of the system to function, assuming the rest of the system is functional.**

      What I meant was does your vehicle have manual or automatic climate control? but never mind it's still the same part number for the front blend door. Should be this one, pricey but if it's not correct, Amazon has hassle free returns. This should be it to the best I can find. amzn.to/3cR02o2
