The reference for this is Sam Lay singing and drumming with Butterfield around 1966. His drumming is like a locomotive barely on the tracks. Clapton does that little lip flutter thing that Lay does which pretty much cements this cover. This drummer imitates the crash part but the Sam Lay version comes close to beggaring belief. For my money EC is the greatest living artist of electric guitar, he's always terrific...even when he's just imitating himself, like the above. I'm just saying listen to the Butterfield version. If you want to really hear energy, that makes this good cover sound anemic, check out the Butterfield/Lay/Bloomfield track...no one ever equalled it and I've heard quite a few great versions.
Not to disrespect Eric Clapton, and I know he was inspired by Muddy and they were friends, but some classics like this shouldn't be covered out of respect.

Three things: 1-The band sounds great, 2-Mr Clapton has the mojo and 3-The importance of the harmonica in this song is absolute.
