I would be nervous too doing that.
I wonder if any other substances would work as well. I don’t have any nitro fuel , I would of course get some if needed.
I wonder if ladies nail varnish remover would work? It can’t be too powerful to go on nails?
I’m gonna do the side front windows too and put an interior in it. I will leave the rest blacked out.

Very cool idea. That is the Best paint removal on RC bodies I have ever seen!! The plastic is so clear afterwards. Excellent job!!

I've tried the wet sanding. Honestly you have to go really fine sandpaper and when you buff with a wax, if you have some type of drill bit/automatic buffer thing, I think that helps. My experiment turned out a little foggy. I think my next experiment might try to go this route. As long as far as you can tell that the body isn't greatly weakened, then I think this makes sense.

Looks good! Fyi, clear bodies are out and clear body kits with all molded parts as well. Also, I make a window trim kit from 3M vinyl for these bodies...everything is cut out and not like the printed on clear material type.

Yeah well I ended up doing the whole side door windows but I’m going to tent the side windows after I clean them all. Maybe I will still cut the window in half so with the windows tinted it’ll look like it’s rolled down.
😁👍 Cool I used nitro fuel to strip a body once I am pretty sure the higher % nitro blends strip the paint off faster.
There was a guy that told me to stick with 20% because higher percentage could weaken the plastic. I personally don’t know this to be fact. However thank you for your feedback I may test out the higher numbers now on an old body.
Maybe wipe it on and let it sit for a few minutes. Cut down on the amount of rubbing you have to do. Idk. Tape wont come off if you apply it to mask off when you apply the solution. I've done it to mine already. Ive also used a very fine steel wool to get JUST the gray primer off, before using the fuel to get the actual paint off, but being very careful. And using a q-tip around the edges.

I used some other chemicals to take the paint off it started ruining the plaatic looks foggy, is there a way to make it clear again?

One youtube video said that if you use chemicals to get the paint of, it dries out the plastic and about a year later he could poke his finger through it with very little pressure.

I love mine.
Man I wish I would have tried that...I used acetone and got some on the body even though I masked it off and it messed up the pain on the hood. I had to cover it up with carbon fiber vinyl wrap. It did come out nice..but I would have rather it stayed original blue. Live and learn. I might have to pick me up some nitro though.

I'm wondering if you could use some Q-Tips to clean around the edges. Might be easier to control up close to the paint you want to keep.

It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be but just remember a little bit of wetness on your napkin so it doesn’t drip all over the place is the key and a lot of patience LOL
I did the same thing as you but only the silver comes off?? Ive scrubbed witg Niteo fuel til my fingers hurt is there orange paint under the black window sticker on the outside? Thnx
Oh yeah I had some sore fingers as well but I use 20% nitro fuel.

I have 2 clear bodies. Bought them two weeks ago. Redcat has them direct $54.00

The weather in Korea is so cold that we can not go outside.

I drilled two holes for light bar and body just shattered
That’s crazy sorry for your loss that sucks.
I used a soldering iron when I added a hole to my bronco body and to repair a crack that started at the body mount hole
