Great vid! What as the issue you were having? I just got my Wendigo yesterday, Redcat is currently running an awesome sale so I couldnt pass it up! But, the torque twist is pretty bad on it, and steering seems to be all over the place. When turning lock to lock, it will pull the chassis down at full lock in both directions. Is this the issue you were having? Also noticed steering doesnt like to return to center without some opposite direction correction.

oh boy just ordered this body, have a old proline rubicon hpi savage body that is 1 inch short but fits my inner fenders etc exactly ,, lol what are the chances its close didn't check the width but length was perfect . probably just shorten wheelbase to and use old body

I Bought one to experiment with the suspension (cantilever 3rd axle) and design of the truck to see what is the most capable it could be with the stock body (chopped and dropped), lcg tray and center skid, -all brass added. Turning out very well❤on the rocks. In the winter will continue with Rock Pirate mounts, long arm links, 2.2 front 1.9 rear wheels, metal axles with underdrive/overdrive other stuff

And black hobby grade plastic is styrene! I forget the name myself as well. I thought those were fms Maxx smasher monster truck 24 tires at first. Very similar! Nice rig fyi. I wish the inner fenders would of worked with the carbon Lcg chassis but shock mount knock outs do not line up sadly.

You need to snag the $6 Injora carbon battery tray. It seems like was designed for these fenders and makes it a breeze swap packs over.

You should've just packed them tight. The grease won't stay anyway. I had to do the same thing with 3 Ground Pounder transmissions and they take over 200 amps of battery power alone powering them. Ground Pounder transmissions are known to blow, and are considered the trucks weak spot and I've never had a problem, with just a little grease. The spur has to be changed to metal and a different pitch. I don't buy the "Plastic doesn't need to be lubed" argument. Redcat doesn't even use matched pinions and spurs in the Ground Pounder and they've been making them for almost 10 years now. And they still give you the wrong sized lug wrench that won't pull the tires. Really. You're lucky to get past the first run on the stock spur gear. Most don't. Again, no grease in the tranny or on the spur at all. Of course they blow. I can't believe your portal axles are that dry. Wow. But, that's the first thing I said about the Ground Pounder transmission as well. Wow, they go through all the trouble of designing, engineering, and producing these things only to neglect them before they can get out the door? That doesn't even make sense to me. I would hate to think Traxxas is the same way at double the price. But now you don't know. I know they do use different oils in their rear ends. But that doesn't mean they grease them. Does it? If you had water, you really should've tossed the bearings and put in rubber sealed bearings. They do make kits for them aftermarket. Redcat doesn't as far as I know.

My pretty much brand new gen 9 is very loud and shaky in forward, but smooth and quite in reverse. Do you think this no grease could be causing it or something else? Its weird reverse is so smooth. comparably.

What brand shock mounts are they?

Fyi on diff lockers. The Hot Racing diff locker for the TLR losi 22s drag car does NOT fit properly. It's too short. You'll end up spinning one end out. I did, twice. That's when it hit me. I took the two lockers with one good end and one bad end on each one and cut approximately 1/3 of the bad end off of each one, then milled (sanded rapidly...lol) them down a little at a time until they both fit perfectly, cut end to cut end and put them both in diff. Originally I got 2-3 passes out of each one before they stripped. I've had these both in for a couple of months now with zero issues. Just good info to have I guess. Maybe you can pass it on.
