My only issue with organizing my stash is, once I get it organized, I ‘think’ I have room for MORE! Lol😂! Your room looks great & now you can enjoy spending time in there even more. Thanks for sharing your process with all of us.
I think we all have those stashes of yarn that we purchased with certain projects in mind but have gotten to making them yet. It must feel good to have it all organized where you can see it and it reminds you of the things you want to do, I got storage similar to yours but in wire instead of wood; I put my yarn in clear containers and ziplock bags as I have dogs and didn't want their hair all over everything, it's nice to see what I have hoping it will control my purchase of new yarn. Happy holidays to you and your family.
Buying yarn and using yarn are two different hobbies. 😂 I love what you did with your new stash and I can’t wait to see what you make with all those delicious skeins!
Your new arrangement turned out so cute! It looks inviting, inspirational, and comforting. Plus, everything is organized and accessible now. My favorite idea was the project bags hung on the back of the door. Just all-around well done. This is the best yarn organization vid I've ever seen. 😍
Wow Mel you did a fantastic job in your office you should be proud. Love the display that you put together. I enjoyed your video, thanks for sharing. 🦋🦋🌟🌟👍
I really like the way you've stored your WIPs, hanging up out of the way but in view as a reminder. Mine are taking up valuable cupboard space, plus I forget about them most of the time. Thanks for the inspiration.
funny you posted this, i am planning that tomorrow, I seem to have run out of blue and some other colors I need but I prefer to pull everything out and organize before I buy new🤣 I wanna check if I put it somewhere and have forgotten I have it.
Yayyyy that looks soo good! Love those side tables you stacked together they are beautiful great idea. I would of had a great time doing that. It all made sense 😉☺️👍👏!! 🫶🫵hun you should be proud of how far you have come❣️
I love looking at all that yarn, I am in the process of packing up my apartment for a 700 mile move and I can’t wait until I actually have an entire craft room.
Hey Mel! Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Yarn organization is my absolute favourite thing to watch on TH-cam. Cheers! 🤩🤩🤩 Does your hubby help you with the filming portion?
That was so enjoyable to watch, I found myself chuckling along and smiling throughout, you captured everything you did so well and it's incredibly well sorted now! I think I also enjoyed it more because I could recognise some of the yarn that was Australian yarn which helps you to connect more, saw the megalong valley yarn in there which was one of the strays. 😉 So glad you worked out that the lovely blue/purple/mustard etc variegated yarn is the hobbii cookie yarn, I noticed that when I was going through to put my order in and wanted to check back in to that video to see if you'd managed to work it out. Isn't that exciting that some hobbii yarn can make its way over by way of the mill ends bags!? You've got a lovely collection and I'm sure had a blast sorting it all, I've done most of mine recently and really enjoyed the process. When you showed the hooks on the back of your door for your wips I thought that was a great idea! I recently got some over the door hanging space organisers to hang on the back of a door to put more yarn in, figured it made sense to use that empty space and get some more storage space out of it, gets things a bit tidier! 😊 Really love the little wooden shelves that you repurposed, they're lovely and look great where you put them. And isn't it great how perfectly the boxes from that amazing sale fitted so exactly into the spaces at the bottom of your shelves, that worked out so well! 😃
Omg they only had one left as cheap as chips last time I went of that blue and purple chenille! I hope they get some more in. I might have to finish my wip in single colour chenille.
@MelsYarniverse no, but thankyou! It would cost more in postage than what the yarn is worth! If I can't find a good substitute in 3 or 4 months, maybe then? It's an incredibly kind offer. I started a scarf and beanie set but stupidly thought I could go back and get more at any time. It's not winter for a while yet, though.
Hi, what a great job done, looks amazing! I watched your every move and decision intently and with a tad of guilt as my stash is a bit like yours was. I'm hoping you will have inspired and motivated me to get stuck into mine. A lot of the upheaval has been because of DIY work ongoing and room changeover. Like you I have inherited my mums stash, needles, buttons and all. I had a fair few myself but like you I am also sentimental, which doesn't help. I was thinking of you the other day as I thrifted a bag which I am now using as a project bag. It's really lovely and is decorated with ribbons of different colours and widths and buttons. The buttons I thought were held on using french knots but on closer inspection they were finished off using seed beads. Very pretty and effective, just the thing to use up some of our button stash, if we can bear to use them he he! Thank you for your great videos and all the information and tips you share. I hope you have a fabulous Christmas and the new year is filled with lots of amazing finds. Warm wishes from chilly Scotland, Sheila ;0)x
I thought I might ask you a question, on whether you think you've changed your yarns/colours that you like over the years or whether you still like the same colours that you always have? I was wondering after taking in what you've got as I have noticed myself recently, I guess the most part of this year, being drawn to really earthy colours - browns, rusty reds, tans, caramels, then also suddenly liking different shades of greys and greens where I didn't have much of an interest in those colours really before, so I was curious what colours are your favourites and if you think your tastes have changed as your crochet journey has evolved?
I just bought some coat hooks and tote bags just to do your wip idea XD I have a cube shelf like yours, so I'm gonna hang them on the side. Then I can stop pretending I don't have 4000000000 wips waiting for me

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the final result!! Oh my, what a beautiful space to be creative in❤❤😊
Aw, thank you so much! 🤗💗 It really does boost your inspiration and creativity to see it all laid out in front of you 😊🧶🤗

So excited for your cabinet and organization. 😊
Thank you so much Marilyn! 🙏💖
Oh my! Now that’s a stash!
It’s always amazing how easily it “collects”.
I'm starting to think it multiplies when you're not looking at it! It's the only thing that makes sense 😂
I use stackable laundry baskets for my scraps of yarn. They're light, easy to clean and whenI empty one they stack away on top of each other.
Buying yarn and using yarn are two different hobbies. 😂 I love what you did with your new stash and I can’t wait to see what you make with all those delicious skeins!
I like how you have a realistic sized stash, organized in a realistic way
And now I have all those empty tubs, so I guess I'll need to buy MORE YARN!! 😂😂
It’s all looking wonderfully well-organised, Mel! 😊
Thank you so much my friend! 🙏💖 It was a big job, but definitely worth it I think!😃

Looks great. Love seeing all the yarn.
Thanks for sharing. I love a good stash video. It makes me feel like I am not alone!😄
I love looking at all that yarn, I am in the process of packing up my apartment for a 700 mile move and I can’t wait until I actually have an entire craft room.
Yay! I’m here for this! ❤️
Yay! 🥳 Thanks, Linda! 💖
Oh well done, it looks amazing!

Hey Mel. Good evening from Las Vegas Nevada USA.
Hi Tina 👋 I hope you're having a lovely evening 🤗💗
Awesome organising video thank you so much lots of love and hugs💙🌸😻🫂
Great work! That shelving is ideal. My stash is mainly in "several" tubs; my WIPs are here and there! 😀
You did good girl!! Everything was nice and organized
Your yarn looks so much better! Are you going to do a stash down diary for the next episode?
Another great video! So nice for you to have everything organized. 🙂❤️ Looks great!
Hi Mel,looks great ,well done 🎉🎉❤ I'm going to have to do something as well 😂😂
Thank you so much, Cecily! 🤗💗 I'd love to hear about it if you do 😃
This organization video is awesome! Love seeing all that yarn, but I know it can't be everything! I bet there is more yarn somewhere LOL!

Awesome. You did great. Love it.
Amazing and good for you 😊
You’ve done a great job there Mel. I use my wardrobe in my craft room to store my yarn but it still gets messy!
Omg they only had one left as cheap as chips last time I went of that blue and purple chenille! I hope they get some more in. I might have to finish my wip in single colour chenille.
Oh no! 🥺 Well, I think maybe you should email me your address so I can send you what I have left 😊🧶
@MelsYarniverse no, but thankyou! It would cost more in postage than what the yarn is worth! If I can't find a good substitute in 3 or 4 months, maybe then? It's an incredibly kind offer. Good job Mel... I also have to organize my yarn stash. It's all in boxes and need to go on something you have...
Love your room!! Looks great!! I caked up a bunch of my yarn when I first got my yarn winder too. 😂😅😊

Worse than coat hangers! 😉
Absolutely! 💯

Re: caked yarn. Many yarn companies sell their yarn in caked form. Not a problem.
Mb was here
My issue is there’s a lot and nowhere to put it, just bin after bin after bin 😳
