    If any body wants to get rid off yarn . Please make some blankets for the Boggy Creek Camp. It is a camp for ill children with their families. There is a group of You Tubers who collect blankets, they call themselves as the Boggy Blanket Brigade for example Juam the yarn addict, Nina ´s Knots Crochets, She ´s got yarn 2, The Crafty Floridian…..

      I also just had a thought - my local HS has a crochet club too - so, for anyone looking to donate, that might be an option too.. call around and see if any schools or places like YMCA have knitting or crochet clubs 😊

    This is most likely my favorite video. I think so many of us can relate. As crafters and creative people we see potential in so many things. I gave away 8 full trash bags of fabric and 5 of yarn in our last move, it’s been a year now snd my heart still hurts a bit for the fabric mainly. I know truly though I will not have the time in many many years to use it all. Still somehow there was a a physical response to letting go of precious potential. 😊 I wish I could say it was rewarding and refreshing but truly it was just necessary.

    • @EliseRoseCrochet
      @EliseRoseCrochet  หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      I can relate. It's so hard to let go. I think if I had just donated these supplies to any charity it would have left me a little sad. But the organization I donated to is absolutely wonderful and they are doing great work so I think that's why it felt so good (after it was all done)! 😅

      @@EliseRoseCrochet very true! Only about 2 bags of mine made it to a local charity. The rest of it ended up at Goodwill. Lady I was coordinating with and ended up having surgery and we had to move within the next day or two so I had to let go of it before I was able to get the rest to her.

    Knitting groups not only provide items for those in need, but they provide community and support for people who might otherwise be socially isolated. As someone on disability, i am very much dependent on donated yarn, some of which I buy from op shops (thrift stores) and some I get from "buy nothing" groups. What you are doing helps people more than you realise.

In 2023 after learning how to crochet I decided to donate blankets and cuddle toys to the children’s hospital where my daughter works. ❤❤❤I'm not a crocheter (I was, as a kid/teen) but I'm a quilter/sewist/fabric hoarder. (I watch your videos because they bring me joy!) This video spoke to me in so many ways. Two years ago, I did the exact same purge of fabric that I had fallen out of love with. Much of it was expensive Civil War reproduction fabrics that were as I may have said, EXPENSIVE. I also had tons of WIPs, mostly quilt tops and blocks I'd made to make more tops. I wound up donating much of it, especially the quilt tops, blocks and repro fabric to Quilts of Valor and even more of it to local animal shelters, who have volunteers who sew cage pads, crate covers and blankies for the animals (animals are my biggest passion, especially CATS!! HI, MR. PICKLES!!) I felt good about myself, similar to how you felt, I think. And I do swear that although a lot of it had been hidden in closets, etc, this house DEFINITELY feels lighter!!❤❤❤

    I absolutely adore it when I see people recognizing when they have problems. Not just because we get some really juicy declutter content, but also because it's an opportunity for personal growth and maturity. It takes a lot of responsibility to acknowledge when something that you love has turned into a problem. It takes even greater maturity to do all you can to fix said problem. Kudos to you for not just brushing it under the metaphorical rug or finding more storage solutions for all your yarn as a lot tend to do. Keep up the growth, keep up the development, and you will go extremely far as a crafter and content creator.

      I do something like that, but with 2 Amazon gift bags. I don't buy more yarn than what fits in the 1st bag for a project or two (they're pretty big sacks, lol). After I'm done with my current project, the extra yarn gets tossed into the second Amazon bag.
      Once the 2nd bag is filled with extra yarn from projects after they're done, I'll do a stash busting project to empty that bag before buying yarn for the first bag.
      It keeps my yarn hauls small/easily transportable around my house in the sack so I can crochet in almost any room without taking up a lot of space.
      Hope that makes sense 😅

He moved a heavy item out of the way so I could access “The closet of good intentions” which houses nearly a full boutique of gifts people gave me which are brand new, never used, as well as excessive holiday gift bags, and craft supplies. Whoever goes through my stuff when I have shuffled off this mortal coil can donate books. That weird crochet hook isn't a crochet hook. It's for making a kind of Rug. It's called "Locker Hook" - You use fabric 1-2 inch lengths, gros point 5 to inch canvas, Cotton yarn, and the hook. You pull the fabric through the holes in the canvas, run the thread through and "lock" the fabric in. I've made one rug that way and would love to make another.
