I just got the note 20 5G and I must say that it's a very good phone it really don't feel cheap like alot of people say, I'm loving it because of the flat screen and I got it for 349.99 after I traded in my note 10 plus on the Samsung website they gave me a 650.00 dollar trade in value, and I must say this phone is a big upgrade to my note 10 plus, its faster and snappier than my old phone.
Of course it would take a smaller channel like this one to give the Note 20 a fair shake. The only mainstream channel that did so was Dave2D. Good on ya. The Note 20 is a kickass phone. Literally every single thing people were complaining about, except for the price and the refresh rate, was just something that made me want the Note 20 more. To hell with glass, and the cameras are insane. I honestly think it's a placebo effect with the N20 Ultra.

The note 20 5g was the best option for me.
I got it at Target at full price. $200 Target gift card, plus I am switching to Verizon and getting another $450 gift card. Today I priced matched with amazon, another $200off and the final cost of the device was $191.99. So I definitely paid very little after all.
Having said that, I wouldn't get the Ultra even if it was at the same price or a bit less.
I love the fact that is plastic on the back. A $3 piece of glass that breaks doesn't add any value in my opinion...The camera is awesomely good enough. The screen, slightly dimmer than the ultra, the whites are slightly worse than the Ultra but overall is a better screen than the Ultra. Colors are better, and images are not as blurry.... So that extra resolution on the Ultra doesn't help much...
Audio, slightly quieter, but you can't say that the Ultra sounds better. I did "extensive" tests at the store, and many times the Note 20 5G sounded better.
After 60Hz I can't tell much of a difference., and I don't game.
The biggest thing for me was the flat screen. I loved the larger screen on the Ultra, but I can't stand the stupid fragile distorted curved edges.
So to have a Samsung that is going to hold it's value once I'm ready to trade, flat screen, better screen, more than likely better battery life, as fast as the Ultra, cheaper; the decision was pretty easy... The ultra is not worth the extra $300. If you need high amounts of storage on your smartphone, you should consider to make some changes in your life...
I said the same mostly , the plastic back is no big deal nor is the 1080p. Alot of review complain about 1080p but praise 120hz which you can only use in 1080 so that's kind of contradictory. Another thing is it's funny alot of reviews hated the s20 ultra when it's the same damn phone as the note ultra with a slower focusing camera but bigger battery and better selfie cam yet they act like the note 20 ultra is the best thing since sliced bread . I appreciate reviews like this one to let people know the regular note 20 is fine and not just mindlessly bashing the phone . It is overpriced though and honestly I feel like no phone should be more than 1k even the ultra or fold or anything but that's just me

I respect your decision all but the storage..with 8k videos now you will need more storage and if you don't have expandable storage then your stuck with what your phone comes with which won't be enough even with 128 or 256 gig storage
@@wakandageorgia973 I just don't keep any videos etc on the phone. Anithing worth keeping should be upoalded to the net, computers, hard drives etc. Phones are so easy to brake or lose.
Great video. I have been looking for some more real world comparisons that look at the practical differences between these two phones. The slowmo video of the s pen latency was much appreciated. You have a new subscriber.
One question: I've been hearing the display on the Ultra is notably less vibrant than the standard model. Even in your video, I feel like I might be able to see that. Do you notice a difference in the saturation, 'pop,' or general vibrance of the displays between these phones?
Wouldn't a reinforced polycarbonate not be more durable than a glass back?
No spiderweb or broken glass on the back after a fall, even bullet-proof materials are made from that polycarbonate material.

Got the Note 20 5g a year after its release (price is 30% lower🙂) and I'm surprised that the regular Note 20 is actually quite good. Of course I wished it would have been the Snapdragon version but they don't sell it where I live. The Exynos version that I'm using has inconsistent battery life.

I didn't get the Galaxy bud plus. I also got a case, screen protector along with a protector for the back camera. I upgraded from the Note 10 plus

I have the note 20 5G and I don't mind the plastic back because I put a case on it anyway. One thing I wished the note 20 had is a memory card slot and the light whenever I get notifications but so far I'm liking it and it's really light too which makes it easier to carry.

Nothing is wrong with the note 20..people talk trash about it because of the 60hz 1080p and plastic back.. I rather have that plastic back than a crack glass back. And 60hz safe more battery. Still a great phone.

By the way, Samsung said the latency on the Note 20 is half of the Note 10
If the note 20 kept the memory card slot and had a glass back I might have purchased one. Had to get the ultra, and samsung has a good offer, byback on your old phone, guaranteed byback on the ultra of 650 bucks in 20 months, and 150 bucks towards accessories...seems like a good deal...oh , and interest free financing...

If the note 20 was starting at 800 dollars It would make sense. Personally, I see it more as a work phone based on essential productivity compared to the ultra wich seems more consumer-based.

Finally someone who agrees the curved screens are a dumb idea. How do you put a screen protector on a curved screen? It always wants to peel up at the curved edge.
It puts the glass right up the edge where is it extremely vulnerable to damage, and makes the glass weaker. It makes it harder to use the phone with a case as you cannot get your finger in the little corner it forms with the case. It distorts the image. It causes uneven reflections.
I have never understood the glass back either. But then I put my $1000 phone in a case. They make them like wet soap bars, you need something to how on to. Sure they look nice... but who cares if it is in case anyway. Also it makes them harder to open when you need to change the battery. With a plastic back they could even do something obscene like put screws thru it and make the battery serviceable by normal people.
You also pretty much need to ise a case on these phones to even out the camera bump. You don't want it sitting right on the edge of the lens glass every time you set it down, and you want it stable when sitting on the table.

Traded in a pixel 3 to get $400 off the Note 20. Screen protectors last longer on flat surfaces and the ergonomics of the smaller device is better.
I got the Note 20 Ultra, 512 GB. AT&T gave me $1000 to trade my S10+, which took it down to about $450, then Samsung gave $150 for pre-ordering, which took the total down to about $300. I LOVE this phone! I absolutely recommend to anyone.

No need for memory card. The base storage of note 20 standard is 256gb tho. And it is the fastest 3.1 ufs.
But for me i choose the note 20 because it's flat screen

The regular Note 20 seems to be so watered down and I thought the note 10 lite was Samsung's attempt to give people a "Lite version" of the note 10 line despite it having an older processor .... This just kicks you in the back
so I see your point, and when you put them together it's easy to discount what we get. the back is a big issue for me but the entire package still makes a good phone , just seems like what the note 20 lite should have been not the regular note 20
Note 10 lite is actually a good phone with good battery. Unfortunately it's missing the stereo speakers

I can get around the plastic, I use a case/skin anyway. Too many "no's" for $1000. No expandable storage, headphone jack and no included earbuds with the Note20, No high-refresh rate. You're being duped if you choose this.

I am using Note 20 and nothing wrong with it. I am even using the exynos version and should say it is fine. There me differences on antutu and other scores but in reality it does not makes much difference. Battery life is still good on exynos as well.

The second part of your video title is misleading. Where did you get the research to back up this claim? Nobody dislikes one s-pen more than the other. The S-pens are the same. It’s only the display refresh rate that is different.

@@mz98snake personally I cannot tell the difference between 1080p and 1440p so the screen isn't a downgrade to me . I wouldn't say a downgrade just different materials . I do think the note ten line looks better than the note 29 line though

I honestly think Samsung wouldn't have gotten all the push back on the Note 20 if they had gone with a glass back. That being said, it still feels like an $850 device.

Ive noticed it getting alittle hot here in Germany when I first got it.
@@scatpack5344 yes, even just open camera makes it hotter, later contacted samsung support and they gave set of instructions to follow. Finally i did restore factory settings. Now phone heat problems reduced and usage is normal. Love using stylus most of the time.
