They DID say they considered a special save file for this, though it likely would have been a short, doomed scenario, if not just a cutscene of the reapers all but instantly winning.

Worst case scenario during Suicide Mission did happen to me accidentally. But here is the thing... I was 7 years old. But I replayed full game immediately and Shepard survived.
A doomed team of Liara, Joker, Kaiden/Ashley would have been a fun one. Maybe they find the Shepard clone? If not maybe they don’t make it off Mars & the Reapers win.
@@65firered Makes no difference, you can't use a Mass Effect 2 save file in Mass Effect 3 that has Shepard permanently dead. Casey Hudson made it perfectly clear back in 2009, the Mass Effect trilogy is Shepard's show, not Liara's or Legion's.
I got everyone killed. When I booted up ME3, I started playing as Joker, who got promoted to Commander after returning to the Alliance. I was basically put on trial, just like how they do Shepard in ME2, except the game ended pretty early when the Reapers attacked - Joker, with his bad leg and all, couldn't hop onto the Normandy to be rescued.
If Bioware had had the nerve to acknowledge this ending in 3 there are a few ways it could go. -They could have had a new protagonist as they did with Dragon Age: Awakenings if the Grey Warden died fighting the Archdemon. -They easily could have shifted POV to Kaidan or Ashley depending on which survived the first game. -Or the other option would be to have Shepard's clone take up the mantle.
I think making an Awakening-style DLC would be dope af, you take control of a new protagonist who's just referred to as their rank and they work for Cerberus. You do your best to take control of things after Shepard's death like rallying all of humanity together and convincing Udina to betray the council, along with getting Kaidan/Ashley to defect and join Cerberus. But since Cerberus is pro-human and anti-alien, your Operative would ignore all of the aliens and only try to unify humanity, and because of that you fail to save the galaxy from the Reapers.
I always had this fantasy of that ; so imagine in ME 1 we play as Shepard, the same crew everything is normal, but in ME 2 Shepard doesnt get killed by the collector, they keep searching for geth activities just like the the Alliance ask them to do. Instead we play as a Cerberus commander, Illusive Man's best soldier and we have the same crew of ME 2 ( apart Tali and Garrus who are still with Shepard). In ME 3 you have Shepard and the cerberus commander who both have their way to eliminated the Reaper so for a part of the game they go against each other before joining force. Its... I dont know man its just one weird story that i would find kinda cool to see. lol
I wished the choice to keep the base or destroy it in ME2 mattered more in ME3, and if we kept the base we would continue working with the illusive man to stop/control the reapers and if we destroyed it, we would work with the alliance as we did in the actual ME3.
I read somewhere that the developers considered a different character for Mass Effect 3 if, in Me2 if shepherd died but they decided against it. There reason was that Mass Effect story is also about Shepherd. I agree with that notion however, I also believe that it's a time constraint issue because they have to create a different option.
Assuming that Shep dies in ME2 after completing Arrival, then I think the mission to unite the races would fall to whichever human squad member survived in ME1, either Ashley or Kaiden. That squad-mate is onboard the Normandy at the time of the Reaper invasion, would be the ranking member of the crew (in ME3, Ash is the same rank as Shep & Kaiden actually outranks Shep), would have the trust of Liara when the crew meets her on Mars, and would also be respected enough by Admiral Hackett for him to order Kaiden/Ash to go on this mission in Shep's stead. If Kaiden/Ash is taken out by the android at the end of the Mars mission, then maybe Hackett has the best available officer aboard the Citadel take command of the mission, w/ Liara's guidance. I would imagine that the events in ME3 would transpire the similar to, or worse than, if all of the worst options occurred; i.e. Kai Leng killing the Salarian councilor, Eve dies, etc., and if most of the side missions were not done. Kaiden/Ash can re-assume command of the mission when they are discharged from the hospital, but at that point, too little, too late, & ultimately the mission likely fails, & the Reapers conquer the universe, again...
Even though I always wanted to see this outcome just to experience it for myself I could never bring myself to knowingly sabotage things in order for everyone to die. Everyone lives on my playthroughs dang it! I can't have it any other way.
Same for ME1. Well, with the Virmire exception, where I pretty much always let the Xenophobe - I mean, culturally conservative - squadmate die. I brought Ash into ME3 once, just so I could see what power she gave me :). Kaiden might be whiney and annoying (and I never liked Karth in KOTOR either), but he's great in combat...
i can imagine a better story of ME3 without Sheppard. it would start with a stasis pod being opened by cerberus, where Javic awakens and its later rescued by Liara who is obsesed with the protheans. then it starts the mission to unite the entire universe against the reapers, done by the last prothean.
To me, it took more work to intentionally kill everyone on that mission. Than it did to save everyone. In some cases, some of the characters will survive even if you didn't do their loyalty mission.
How about the Cerberus clone of Shepherd takes over? It would let you play ME3 with the same (looking) Shepherd, but you are either locked into certain dialogue or decisions that the clone would make based on their personality in the Citadel DLC or maybe you can only choose the renegade options in conversations at the very least. 😄
Never happened to me, but I always assumed you can't export your save into Mass Effect 3 if Shep dies. Instead of just playing Mass Effect 3 without an imported game, I'd just start Mass Effect over Gotta upgrade the ship in addition to do all loyalty missions, then pick the right squad mates for the task Team Leader: Miranda, Garrus or Jacob Tech specialist: Tali'Zorah, Legion or Kasumi Biotic specialist: Jack, Samara or Mirala (aka Morinth)
@@RedCrusader-ph2vk in the Shadow Broker base, you can read messages between Samara and her other daughters. They refer to her as Mirala. Morinth also signs that name addressing her sisters in ME3
Wish they would of done something with the whole Shepard clone, in this regard. Rather than it just being part of the Citadel DLC. Maybe have every decision up until the original Shepherd's death be imported over. With a Cerburus officer more less just filling then in. So, as to not raise suspicion. Or just do an interactive comic like they did for Mass Effect 2 when it originally came to PS3. This could pretty much work. Since there is a contingent individual, that's takes the place of squadmate. Who didn't survive the suicide mission in the first game. Since no one close the original Shepherd is still live. And wouldn't notice them acting out of character. Say for Kaiden/ Ashly, possibly Anderson, and maybe Hackett. Though that could be resolved with throw away line from the clone. Stating that people can change in a few years. Liara may be suspicious, especially if she was romanced. But may be able to be convinced like the others. Since she too wasn't around for the second game. Say for some brief interactions and a short dlc. This would more less leave the game the same as if Shepard survived. Except maybe a few interactions with the illusive man being a little different. I know I'm obviously overlooking some parts. But just just a rough outline of how an alternative start could work.
Did an insanity run recently where I did almost bare minimum and thought I was gonna die in the end but actually survived. All died exept me, Tali and Garrus tho.
This video actually reminded me of something I haven't thought about in a long time. I was originally expecting the final mission of ME3 to have a similar structure to the suicide mission. I expected my preparations to keep squad mates alive on the battle of earth instead of a couple sequences in the space battle. I expected to make important decisions at key stages of the earth battle to get my squad mates (and army for that matter) to the objective as intact as possible. A lot has been said about the ending but it wasn't just that, there was something off with the last levels in general. It was super cinematic to the point of being too cinematic. Practically an on rails shooter, very arcady. It was trying to be impressive like a movie instead of impressive like a game.
Or James Vega. I can only see military soldier leading on military Normandy. That would be Ashley , Kaidan, James Vega , Steve Cortez , Shepard clone , Anderson or Joker.
It's my favourite ending. Watching the collectors wander through your dead squad and the cutscenes are better without the upgrades. Then there's Garrus telling Miranda to get fucked if Jack is dead. Great ending all round.
Thank you so much for the speculation part! I to have been curious to think about what would have happened, but alas it seems most every time someone asks the question, they get shut down.

Man I remember playing ME2 and picking the right set-up for the perfect ending where everybody lives and still have teammates die on me then after they fixed that issue I just started experimenting with different endings on to start ME3 with for me the best play throw was killing legion but still doing his loyalty mission and destroying the satellite base . Now the arguments Shepherd gives legion about trust in ME3 are way better (side note the gath die in this set-up) it just works soooo much better for me at least.
you forgot the upgrades in me2 there are 3 crucial ones that if you don't do 3 squad mates die , the shield that tali tells you about, the gun from garruss and the ship armour that jake tells you about
They had the whole thing at the beginning of ME2 where Cerberus went to a lot of trouble to revive Shepard. They hinted at possible repercussions in ME3 but never went much further than surface level. What if instead they went full on, you die in ME2, and Cerberus just makes another Shepard that appears in ME3. Would be easy to have subtle hints scattered throughout the narrative that could elude to this that pretty much wouldn't be noticed till a second playthrough. Wouldn't even have to change that much about the game to make it fit.
You basically have to book it for the collector base immediately after getting the whole crew (dlc characters are optional). Then you have to make absolutely no upgrades to the ship. You basically have to look at the game straight in the eye and say “I want to die.”
I've known this ever since Mass Effect 2 released in 2009. If Shepard dies, you can't use your save file in Mass Effect 3, plain and simple. Back in 2009 I wondered, if there is the possibility that Shepard can permanently die in Mass Effect 2, how will that affect Mass Effect 3? Will a new protagonist replace Shepard if you use a save file where Shepard doesn't survive the suicide mission? The answer to that is a hard NO. BioWare made it perfectly clear in interviews back then that the Mass Effect trilogy is Shepard's story, no one will replace him/her during the trilogy.
I know Vega isn't the most interesting character but I think it would have been cool if you played as him if you got the worst ME2 ending I don't think he'd be as good as Shepherd but Vega did beat some Collectors so we can't rule him out entirely
The Illusive Man releasing the cloned Shepard (chore leave dlc) would’ve solved the real Shepard gone in ME3. It would’ve been interesting how the story goes from there.
It wouldve been a nice nod from Bioware to be able to import Dead Shep from ME2 to see a quick 10 minute Reaper invasion. But realistically what wouldve happened is Joker and EDI more than likely wouldve returned to Cerberus, as they only returned to Earth because of Shepard. With no warning at all, the Reapers would have invaded as they did in ME3, but wouldnt have been stopped.
First [ME3 DLC SPOILER ALERT] Ok, so here's a lot of room to speculate. If Shep dies in ME2, then we must not forget that cerberus had a clone hidden away. This clone could possibly have taken over the role of shep. But as we see in citedal dlc, he / she probably does not have the necessary experience to be able to function as the original shep. clone sheps behavior can be explained to you with ptsd, from watching all his friends get killed. Only Joker will know that this is not the real shep. Personally, I would prefer to be able to continue playing as a Joker. His vroliks syndrome could become a problem. However, we must not forget how much tech there is in ME. In theory, they could make a special exoskeleton armor that will enable him to go into battle. Or if cerberus puts a little money into it, then they can even make a remote-controlled battle droid that he would be able to control. Would prefer joker in the front line though. But if it's not joker, or Liara, then there's still one option left. One with military background, and frontline experience. Williams, or Alenko. Both are great soldiers, with first hand experience in fighting the reapers, and have leadership experience. But just my ideas.
The short answer would be that Admiral Anderson would have to cover down more on what Shepard did and try and use his influence with the Council to his advantage. Some other Admiral or General would end up leading the resistance on Earth.
If you port a save without the arrival DLC, Hackett sent marines to take care of it. It's a loss of war assets but the reaper invasion is successfully delayed. So either way it's moot.
I have played through ME3 without doing the Arrival DLC. Instead of Shepard blowing up the relay, a special operations squad does. It's mentioned in some dialog with a sick Batarian.
What would happen is jin garson probably would have been able to a lot more funding. And there would be a lot more effort put into leaving before the reaper invasion. Perhaps joker could have been used to help those efforts, as he could help with fear mongering the greater public.
I actually tried to get Shep killed. Took me 3 full playthroughs to get it right. The fist 2 tries someome always managed to live and help me. 3rd try I ignored everyone and everything...all that just to fail the game. But I just had to see it for myself. 😁
Well in a way the question was answered if Shepard had died in number two then the warning of the reapers still would have gotten their. The project to head to the Andromeda Galaxy would have more recourses to work with to get it done.
I think Anderson would try to gather all the old crew from the original Normandy still standing and do what shepherd would have done if he were still alive.
You learn by the citadel there are cloned shepards. As the elusive tells joker we are resilient, he is prolly making plans to bring another shep online. In two years they weren't using any of original shepards parts. That imploded brain or body of deep decay and necrosis. The only thing that's could be done possibly for his dna and memories is a brain scan. We don't know what his final thoughts were and shep doesn't say he even remembers his death or being spaced. I don't think they found a way to transport that save , without saying directly shepard was a clone. But the whole clone sub-plot is the reason shepard is so resilient to indoctrination. As shep has been closer to reaper tech as well as comincation w a reaper more so then saren or benizia which both have strong personalities. Without, a clone the original shep might have a healthy dose of indoctrination and project rho would seal the deal. With the cybernetic neural uplink he was able to control a drone outside of this cell!? Did that slip every ones mind. Shep was part clone , part ai, and part cybernetic. This fusion of organic and synthetic was the reapers or their intelligence's design. He was their goal brought to life. Shepard himself would be an example of how the war of organics and synthectics could end. This is why he is special to the reapers. This is why they seek to protect them and guide them. In me3 both the father and daughter scientist in search of leviathan are already indoctrinated before reaching out to shepard.
there is a way you can actually play ME2 without the save filer, there is a DLC were you simply in an "interview" at the start recap everything and simply pick the choices. after that you can simply import the save to ME3.
theres mod 'last man standing' that let shepard survive suicide mission with less than 2 squadmates alive meaning if only 1 squadmate survived or if all the squadmates died than shepard is dead so with this mod he wont be dead and joker will grab him to the ship you can keep play mass effect 2 after suicide mission and also even import this to mass effect 3 also something i tryed was to use save editor on copy of my completed save game and mark all squadmates dead and also all ship crew dead i tested it and only joker was the only person on the whole ship looks so insanely tragedy also i tryed to import this edited save from save editor of completed game to mass effect 3 and it worked lol its importable making mass effect 3 in a edition of noone of all the squadmates of mass effect 2 alive (only not liara that was used only in the shadow broker dlc as squadmate) and also without any of the crew people of the ship that apper in mass effect 3 if they didint died in mass effect 2
Only thing is when you start the game it still has the idea that you were previously involved in destroying everything so you're still a prisoner of war even though you just started the game very beginning of this game doesn't change whether Shepherd dies or lives from from Mass Effect 2 only one start which is kind of bad
Depending on which of the human allies you saved on virmire would have been a cool main protagonist for the third game or even just a spinoff series where you could still import your save. I know that it's way too cool of an idea for Bioware to come up with anyway
In the event that Shepard died then Liara, Anderson and whoever survived Virmire would likely take up the fight. Wrex is still out there too provided he survived Virmire. They still wouldn't have the overall chance at it but it wouldn't just be Liara.
Liara tries to make the crucible and save the galaxy, but without help she resorts to saving as much information as she can and making black boxes placed around the galaxy, leading to a future cycle defeating the reapers, as in the “make no choice” ending.
Bro... how could you miss this... If Sheppy is dedd.. then our brave and beloved undercover SPECTRE, the one and only Conrad Verner 👻 would have stepped into Sheppy's shoes to save the galaxy 😄 from the evil bugs... errhmm..reapers 😂🤣😂
The way that you could play Mass Effect 3 using the save file where Shepard dies would be to play as an entirely new character and have them rally the galaxy instead. But I don’t think this would work because The plot of Mass Effect 3 is reliant on Shepard being alive to sort everything out. Every mission is Shepard calling in every favour he has ever accrued during the first 2 games. You could substitute him for another character in 1 or 2, but not for 3 because it is completely reliant on you being the same guy that saved everyone in 1 and 2.
I feel like Anderson would have taken up Shepard's mantle in trying to reunite the galaxy and earth would have fallen early on. I also think the Virmire survivor would likely die on Mars, Liara would get the data needed for the crucible similar to in the original game and create her version of a beacon with Glyph as the VI. Lastly I think the outcome would be similar to the reject ending due to failing in defeating the reapers but still being able to warn the future generations.
If Shepard was dead liara as shadow broker would have instigated project andromeda regardless, the crucible plans would have been in the illusive mans hands and given her knowledge as shadow broker liara would have probably been involved reluctantly and brought it to Andersen. With the hieratics dead from me2 , and no leagon the geth would have won the quarens war , with no one trusting them would have sided as the reaper because of the ai upgrade and because they wanted to survive, after the attack and no one else Anderson would have boarded the Normandy , possibly project Lazarus would have evolved differently but as mention in lore the smoking mans mind had already been compromised yet the project to control the reapers by creating dragons teeth into husks would have succeeded at the cost of thousands if not millions of lives , but like mentioned in previous cycles would have caused a no win scenario and sadly sped up the harvest to a few short years , other than seeding the galaxy with Hal it is strongly possible that liara seeing no hope and loss of her love would have left on Hyperion in stasis , it is unclear what the final few leviathan survivors would have done or if they like there ancestors left beyond the galaxy vail, there home world address was compromised but as seen the reapers could still be controlled, since they know through the spears that already located so would have both the power to control reaper capital ships to either fight others , I still believe that given that they have already lived through millions of cycles they still survive, and the yahg start the next cycle as the possible next dominant race
So, having beaten Mass Effect 2 without having any of the paid DLC (Kasumi, Overlord, The Arrival etc.) I can confirm that the Alpha Relay is destroyed at the cost of reducing the 103rd Marine Division War Asset in Mass Effect 3 from 100 to 50. It explains in their section that Hackett sent them to rescue Dr Kenson, but the Marines sacrificed themselves to destroy the Relay. So the Reaper Invasion doesn’t arrive early no matter what happens in ME2.
Can we get an update where if you shat the bed in me2 and Shepherd died, You play as shep clone with Brooks in Me3 following Cerberus' plan to try to save humanity?
I'd like to know if you managed to get most team members (tali, garrus etc) that are in ME3 killed, how does it affect the play through of ME3? I was tempted to try it but could never bring myself to.
Also been thinking on what I said on last video bout the more war assets u get the more ships I feel like after they do that epic rally the fleet music they add on backup arrives to save the acension music
If Shepard died in ME2, the story would focus on Anderson only. He would try to solve all problems in the universe or Anderson would give Ashley/Kaiden an order to bring help to Earth. Liara, Kaiden/Ashley, Vega would be the trio who tries to bring everyone together. Vega might return back to Earth though. So we would have Liara, Kaiden/Ashley, they would go to the council on the Citadel for asking help but it would be a disaster for them. Kaiden/Ashley would ask for orders from Admiral Hackett and Anderson. It's kinda Anderson and Hackett would be the possible two-person who leads Shepard's squads.
Liara? The Dr Spy? ... no. Don't you guys remember the scene after thessia she completely crumbled. The only people I see being close to picking up Shepard's slack would be Willams/Kaiden and maybe possibly Anderson, his ability to unite the resistance on earth shows he has the leadership and charisma. He "The Shepard" during the 1st Contact War so he also has some experience as well.
Real talk I thought that the British guy they were showing in the original Mass effect 3 trailers was going to be the replacement character if your Shepherd died
Also get the ship upgrades.... I completely agree by the way... Best mission in gaming history... Somewhere behind that would be the shadow broker rannoch and tuchanka missions... Also epic
Mass effect 2 the only game with no such thing as plot armour, the only possible follow on from Shepard dying would be Liara seeding information about the reapers and the crucible
Miranda has plot armor. Unless you don't do her loyalty mission, she literally cannot die. But she may get others killed if huge put her in any leadership role.
Let's go with the theory that a Paragon Shep and co died in the collector base, which is destroyed, as well as the Alpha Relay. ME3 already confirmed a Shep Clone was waiting in the wings, possibly from a neutral/renegade standpoint, removed of all previous memories from ME1 & ME2; he's purely there to fulfill the OG Shepard's purpose. Joker would pick up where he left off, albeit the new crew being Brooks, Kai Leng, Eva, maybe even a successful rendition of organic/VI interface from Project Overlord, a range of mercenaries and whoever is willing to fill the slots for the finale team. Fakeshep would probably not even bother reporting to the alliance tribunal over the Alpha Relay destruction (Or maybe, just to prove a point and integrate back into the alliance without informing the other races on Cerberus behalf) and would effectively do whatever the Illusive man said. The only major issue is that Fakeshep wouldn't have any first-hand knowledge or information or interaction with the prothean beacons, Javik or Sovereign, let alone the collectors, and wouldn't understand the true severity of the Reaper's arrival.....or when the Illusive Man get's indoctrinated. 0 unification between species, the crucible either isn't built or is built to IM's specifications to attempt Control, and all civilisation, ranging from the human to salarian are wiped out.
Actually with Shepard dead, the Shepard Clone would still be alive. We could have played with him/her. Obviously we wouldn't have Garrus and Tali, plus we would lose out on a lot of war assets not having any of the old squadmates, Kirrahe could still save the Salarian Dalatrass. Liara could still get helped by the clone Shep, and we would still have enough squadmates to theoretically play the game with Liara, James and EDI being alive, plus the Virmire Survivor potentially. Clone Shep might even get Brooks as a squad mate. We would also have Javik potentially Geth Quarian peace would be impossible but we could still get one of them, Wrex could still be alive so Genophage could be cured with little future consequences, though we would lose Eve and not have as much Krogan support. The Rachni Queen could potentially still help as could Zhus Hope. Clone Shepards existence could literally still be enough to save the galaxy with a little multiplayer modifiers.

@@LightStreak567 Not for Liara but for Legion.
@@LightStreak567 You are determined to ruin this aren't you?
Probably the last one tbh 😂
I think making an Awakening-style DLC would be dope af, you take control of a new protagonist who's just referred to as their rank and they work for Cerberus. You do your best to take control of things after Shepard's death like rallying all of humanity together and convincing Udina to betray the council, along with getting Kaidan/Ashley to defect and join Cerberus. But since Cerberus is pro-human and anti-alien, your Operative would ignore all of the aliens and only try to unify humanity, and because of that you fail to save the galaxy from the Reapers.
It's not about "nerve" lol. This ending is an extra. Same as how Perfect Destroy is canon ending in me3
I always had this fantasy of that ; so imagine in ME 1 we play as Shepard, the same crew everything is normal, but in ME 2 Shepard doesnt get killed by the collector, they keep searching for geth activities just like the the Alliance ask them to do.
@@sadeghsatari885 I do wish Shepherd could still work with Cerberus as an ultimate renegade run
And then that Commander replaces Kai Leng the cutscene manipulator.
Shepard prevents the Reapers from returning through the relays.
Harbinger 'Prepare the fleets, we shall use the old ways.'
Haha thats exactly what happens! (Well almost)
You can't import ME2 save on ME3 if Shepard dies in ME2. Bioware made sure we can't do this after that happens.
If Shepard dies in ME2...then the clone from citadel dlc is playable 🤣 ?
TO quote a line from Sword Art Online. "WE'RE FUCKED!!!!!"
I won’t lie when I did this ending on purpose I was like… well I can’t wait to play as Joker in ME3 lol
Glad videos like this exist, I could never bring my self to let anyone die
Same here, it's just too difficult watching them die 😭
Same for ME1. Well, with the Virmire exception, where I pretty much always let the Xenophobe - I mean, culturally conservative - squadmate die. I brought Ash into ME3 once, just so I could see what power she gave me :).
Kaiden might be whiney and annoying (and I never liked Karth in KOTOR either), but he's great in combat...
Shepards dead..what shall we do?
"Commander Joker..step forward"
*snap*
Commander Moreau*
i can imagine a better story of ME3 without Sheppard. it would start with a stasis pod being opened by cerberus, where Javic awakens and its later rescued by Liara who is obsesed with the protheans. then it starts the mission to unite the entire universe against the reapers, done by the last prothean.
We should’ve had gotten a new hero if Shepard dies in ME2
Yeah, Conrad Verner. With his friends, Blasto the Hanar and Niftu Cal the Biotic God.
@@nick7072 And the Krogan who love poetry dont forget this badass
Anderson on earth?
To me, it took more work to intentionally kill everyone on that mission. Than it did to save everyone. In some cases, some of the characters will survive even if you didn't do their loyalty mission.
Bioware decided to pull an MGS3 with Shepard's death in ME2 that would start a time paradox for ME3.
Instead of just playing Mass Effect 3 without an imported game, I'd just start Mass Effect over
Gotta upgrade the ship in addition to do all loyalty missions, then pick the right squad mates for the task
Team Leader: Miranda, Garrus or Jacob
Tech specialist: Tali'Zorah, Legion or Kasumi
Biotic specialist: Jack, Samara or Mirala (aka Morinth)
Mirala?
@@RedCrusader-ph2vk in the Shadow Broker base, you can read messages between Samara and her other daughters. They refer to her as Mirala. Morinth also signs that name addressing her sisters in ME3
I always try to save everyone...
So I’ve never seen the MISSLE TO THE FACE 🤣 got damn lol
It could probably have worked! Would feel weird tho 🤣
Did an insanity run recently where I did almost bare minimum and thought I was gonna die in the end but actually survived. All died exept me, Tali and Garrus tho.
Ouch!
Only the essentials
You saved the best at least
The history of ME3 ending is they rushed a placeholder before the loremaster guy finished concepting a better ending and it shipped.
I never knew that final of Me 2, it's so depressing...
It really is. Thankfully it isn't "canon" 😂
@@MrHulthen well it is if you choose too. Since there's no real canon to Mass Effect, yet.
It would have been nice, in a sad way, to get a cutscene of joker, edi, liara, kaidan/Ashley doing what they could but failing
Dude im loving your vids. Cheeky humor, coy lines, great content. All youre missing is some semi decent soft background music and youre golden
Would have been neat if you took over as either Ashley Liara or Kaiden.
Or James Vega. I can only see military soldier leading on military Normandy. That would be Ashley , Kaidan, James Vega , Steve Cortez , Shepard clone , Anderson or Joker.
As I mentioned in the video before. Liara creates a holographic message and everyone gets ass kicked by Reapers.
Basically 😂
Would had been fun, load shepard, and that end play.
And, unfortunately, the crucible blueprints would probably not be part of her holographic message.
It's my favourite ending. Watching the collectors wander through your dead squad and the cutscenes are better without the upgrades. Then there's Garrus telling Miranda to get fucked if Jack is dead. Great ending all round.
😂
Thank you so much for the speculation part! I to have been curious to think about what would have happened, but alas it seems most every time someone asks the question, they get shut down.
You're welcome! Speculation is what i'm all for lol. Wait really? I haven't really seen people asking it but maybe that's why 😲
@@MrHulthen what are you looking forward to most about Mass Effect Legendary Edition? I am looking forward to replaying the first game with better combat!
Dude I hope your channel takes off with the Legendary Edition coming out. Guides are helpful....speculation videos are hilarious. Keep pumping out content and I'll thumbs up and comment on them all!
My guess is that the elusive man would most likely scramble to collect anything he could find of Shepard and try to reactivate the Lazarus project.
so just use tribology editor and tick in all the boxes so all companion who could die, did die and it will still use all your cither choices
Haha I love this video! Funny stuff, solid editing. Definitely subscribed! Keep it up, man!
you forgot the upgrades in me2 there are 3 crucial ones that if you don't do 3 squad mates die , the shield that tali tells you about, the gun from garruss and the ship armour that jake tells you about
Oh yeah! I totally forgot that part
I didn't know this could happen. Pretty cool.
I thought shepherd died already when he got spaced in ME 2 and Cerberus brought him back
Well, there IS that clone from the Citadel DLC... How much he/she could accomplish is questionable, but there would "a Shepherd".
True!
A Joker spinoff where Jeff gets some kind of combat exoskeleton and fights reapers with EDI on his side would have been interesting though :D
I think it would have led to the extinction of the current cycle. No one would have been equipped to stop the Reapers.
Yup!
I know Vega isn't the most interesting character but I think it would have been cool if you played as him if you got the worst ME2 ending
I don't think he'd be as good as Shepherd but Vega did beat some Collectors so we can't rule him out entirely
I got it- if you use the ending of mass effect 3 after you shoot the star child- I think it fits perfectly where Shepard dies in ME2.
First [ME3 DLC SPOILER ALERT]
Ok, so here's a lot of room to speculate.
I thought it said "Dead Shapiro" and I was like: "What does mass effect have to do with parodying Ben Shapiro?"
Lmao 😂
i vaguely remember hearing there was plans for this scenario but it was scraped because of the time restraint they had to develop the game
If you port a save without the arrival DLC, Hackett sent marines to take care of it. It's a loss of war assets but the reaper invasion is successfully delayed. So either way it's moot.
If they brought in Both M Shep and Fem Shep, the opposite sibling could take over for 3
It’s almost like you didn’t play mass effect 1 lmao
Hahah well fought!
Question:so the 2 years they were bringing shepherd back was that his original body they were using? I know they tweak it a lil but I’m just curious.
Zaheed actually knows the blue suns leader when you recruit garrus
there is a way you can actually play ME2 without the save filer, there is a DLC were you simply in an "interview" at the start recap everything and simply pick the choices. after that you can simply import the save to ME3.
theres mod 'last man standing' that let shepard survive suicide mission with less than 2 squadmates alive
meaning if only 1 squadmate survived or if all the squadmates died than shepard is dead
so with this mod he wont be dead and joker will grab him to the ship
you can keep play mass effect 2 after suicide mission and also even import this to mass effect 3
also something i tryed was to use save editor on copy of my completed save game and mark all squadmates dead and also all ship crew dead
i tested it and only joker was the only person on the whole ship looks so insanely tragedy
also i tryed to import this edited save from save editor of completed game to mass effect 3 and it worked lol its importable
making mass effect 3 in a edition of noone of all the squadmates of mass effect 2 alive (only not liara that was used only in the shadow broker dlc as squadmate)
and also without any of the crew people of the ship that apper in mass effect 3 if they didint died in mass effect 2
Good point!
Lastly I think the outcome would be similar to the reject ending due to failing in defeating the reapers but still being able to warn the future generations.
if your one intepretation of shepard falling is right, then Shep died TWICE to save Joker ♥
I could do a video on it (possibly) 😄
that is one of the great things about the trilogy. You really feel like you matter, it really feels like only you could have saved the galaxy.
Very true!
Also been thinking on what I said on last video bout the more war assets u get the more ships I feel like after they do that epic rally the fleet music they add on backup arrives to save the acension music
That could be really cool!
If Shepard dies on the suicide mission you get to play a mech with the buggy Shepard VI. He deletes data like you on his way to real problems.
Honestly, at the time of the trailers I thought Major Coates was going to be the replacement Sheppard
Liara? The Dr Spy? ...
Real talk I thought that the British guy they were showing in the original Mass effect 3 trailers was going to be the replacement character if your Shepherd died
it would have been up to either Kaiden or Ashley to resume Shepard's spectre crown and mission.
@@Snicketbar yeah but shepherds plot armour definitely fails in the final mission
no matter how many times i've played and finished the trilogy, i just can't bring myself to go for the really bad endings. i just can't
Me neither 😂
It would be Liara (Shadow broker) trying to take control of Cerberus, more like a stealth and intrigue game
We would also have Javik potentially
Geth Quarian peace would be impossible but we could still get one of them, Wrex could still be alive so Genophage could be cured with little future consequences, though we would lose Eve and not have as much Krogan support. The Rachni Queen could potentially still help as could Zhus Hope.
Clone Shepards existence could literally still be enough to save the galaxy with a little multiplayer modifiers.
