I remarkable does one thing really good. That is you can make hand written notes on the go and store them on the device for later review. If you are a student or office worker then this device would be perfect for you.
Thank you for providing these videos for the RPP. Are you using this as you're main device? I like and agree with your suggestions for your list of improvements for the RPP, and submitted them to Remarkable.
Appreciate your support Mitchel. Thank you and hopefully we see reMarkable implement more features. I mainly use RPP for professional/work stuff. For reading books, I prefer something smaller like Kindle/Kobo.
Thank you for the video. I share the same frustrations like you and while I think it's a great device to focus on things with a lovely writing feel, the drawbacks just made it too hard to integrate into my daily workflow. As such, I'll be returning it.
What I miss the most : - perfect shape - open 2 documents at the same time for pdf lecture and note taking - use the remarkable app on the computer or mobile as a companion to import images or content in the notes - Possibility to switch to a performance mode with only black and white screen and let Colors for reading for example - rewriting like the kindle scribe 2 to improve your writing
Thanks for the honest review. I am struggling to understand why I have spent so much money on a tool that try’s to replicate a paper pad. A normal pad gives visibility over 2 pages rather than the limitations of one page. Buyers remorse I am struggling to convince myself to keep it?
Appreciate your reply. I believe you may still be eligible for the 100 day return policy they had. Worth checking it out if it really doesn't meet your needs. All the best!
I’m struggling with this too but I settled on keeping it because e ink colour reading beats reading on any other device. Very previous for your eyes and brain in the long run. Do wish the speed of colour refresh i.e. processor is faster and also allowing for multitasking opening of book and notepad side by side.
@ yeah tried for so long on my iPad but the glare caused eye strain, red eye and headaches and Blue light before bed was not good for sleep so it is much better than IPad because of the glare … but against reading an actual book or writing in a quality pad with a good pencil or pen …. I’m just not sure. And the visibility of one page only against over two pages not great so decision time for me
@ yes I am but I am really trying to like it the 100 day offer is really fair but I am trying so hard to like it, but the cost probably going to drive me to send back, haven’t even used the keyboard once 🥴
@@findingstoicism952 EPUB can change font size, no? My use case is more towards reading textbooks / magazines too. Really depends on your preference at the end of the day. Blue light messes with your pineal gland and then your sleep and then weight gain. Just saying.
Am I the only one who has a problem with no way to switch between two tools quickly? I do a lot of lasso selecting and moving things around but I have to tap the menu every time. Screen is very dark, and using the light doesn't feel so 'papery'. Trying to zoom and scroll is very finicky and unpredictable. I think the pen feel is closest to ipad I've found on an e-ink, I feel like the change of pen technology is a downgrade.
Very interesting and useful video! One issue that you did not mention is the constant flashing of the screen. This is also clearly visible in your video; whenever something is written or a line is drawn, the screen refreshes. This clearly does not bother you anymore or at all? Do you get easily used to it?
No for sending them by email. For syncing via mobile/laptop app, it will work for 50 days from opening the document. "Your notes will always be stored locally on your paper tablet, but only files used and synced online in the last 50 days will continue to be stored in the cloud and updated in our apps. "
Do you think a distraction-free device like this is worth the trade-offs, or do you prefer having more functionality? Let me know in the comments!
I use the device for my study, it does for me the job of note taking in an excellent way. For me the Paper pro re-invented hand writing. I love it.

I love the colour screen. Perfect for my use case (reading A4 sized books with a lot of colour images.)

Do you need a subscription to mark up documents and send them back to your laptop?

Am I the only one who doesn't like the writing feel of the RMPP? RM2 was perfect, but the paper pro is just plastic on plastic 😢
