    Bought my signature series about two months ago, also new injectors; and new injection pump from Thoroughbred Deisel for my 99’ Cummins. I currently have 320k on it now, it should go another 680k to get me a million miles, I’ll keep you posted but I do love the FASS system!!!!

    Bought a Signature system for my Motorhome a few months ago. Did not notice any change in engine except for the startup, after about 5-600 miles the motor has never idled or worked better. I am impressed and hopefully it will save the manual injection pump on my Cummins. Thanks FASS

    Hi. In your response to Adam, you state the PF-3001 filter is serviceable. What does this mean? Is the XWS-3002 also serviceable? Please provide any information you can about cleaning/servicing these new filters as I need to purchase new ones soon and want to fully understand the best option. It seems odd to me that you would remove the drain capability from the water separator and let the change interval be "dependent on the fuel we are getting"... A couple of bad fillups with excess water can now leave me stranded on the side of the road if I don't keep a spare filter with me at all times? Thanks in advance.

      @@FASSFuelSystems the water separator filter swells with water so that’s the reason a person wouldn’t need a drain on the filter?

    • @FASSFuelSystems
      @FASSFuelSystems  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BC-jm6th That's correct-unlike older styles that pool the water near the bottom of the filter to be drained, our Extreme Water Separator actually traps moisture within the element itself. When you change your filter, you physically remove all the water along with it.

    • @BC-jm6th
      @BC-jm6th 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FASSFuelSystems doesn’t that restrict the flow since it swells up?

    • @FASSFuelSystems
      @FASSFuelSystems  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BC-jm6th If neglected for extended periods of time (well past the service intervals), it may restrict flow to prevent contaminated fuel from reaching injection components. Similarly, a drainable filter will eventually push water back into the fuel if not drained or replaced regularly.
      However, unlike drainable filters, our filter element will not feed water back into the fuel if left unattended.

    • @FASSFuelSystems
      @FASSFuelSystems  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You no longer need to drain the filters. The filter change interval is dependent on the fuel you are getting. If you are getting good clean fuel then you can change the filter every 20,000 to 30,000 miles. Good additives will have no effect on the new (or old) filters. We will no longer sell the old filters.
      In all of the testing our R & D department has performed with an outside laboratory we discovered up to this point all other filters claiming to separate or remove water are not as efficient at removing or separating water to the extreme current capabilities of the FASS filters. We will be releasing our testing soon.
      Our new particulate filter, our PF-3001 Primary Filter, is a serviceable stainless-steel wire mesh that protects our fuel pump by filtering larger particulates. It not only protects our fuel pump, but it also drastically reduces noise by reducing restriction which also produces increase fuel flow rates!
      Our XWS-3002 Extreme Water Separator is a 2-micron absolute micro-glass fuel filter! Micro-glass is 400% more efficient than all those other filters using a cellulose media! Our filters are capable of 25 gpm, not 25 gph but 25 gallons per minute! That is 1500 gallons per hour!! We were able to reduce the size of our filters as we have had customers request this, but we didn’t want to lose the efficiency. We were able to do this by going to the micro-glass media. For cellulose to compare in efficiency and surface area you would have to take our current size of fuel filter and times it by 4! That would be a huge filter, but we were able to reduce the size by just using a very high-quality media, simply the best on the market! These cellulose water separators, when full, will pass the water exceeding its capacity to where our XWS-3002 filter will eventually shut the engine down. This not only saves your very expensive fuel system but also saves you the potential expense for a tow to a shop and saves you the expense of down time and possibly a hotel stay.
      Now getting back to the water separation portion of the filter. The new media grabs and holds the water like a dam. This filter is so efficient it grabs 99.96% of the water at 290gph. The lower the flow pump you have the more water it traps. Now you may be concerned about it during cold weather as we were also. As the pores of the media traps the water that pore becomes blocked. That is another reason we chose a media that is 400% more efficient. The efficiency of the our new micro-glass media gives the fuel, effectively, much more surface area to travel through as compared to a less efficient cellulose media.
      Micro-glass is also a much higher quality element coming with a much higher price tag in which we have been able to absorb due to our purchasing volume and power which in turn we have been able to pass on the savings to you.

      @@FASSFuelSystems A couple follow up questions that were sparked from the conversation about the new filters.
      1. From what I am understanding, the new filter is able to trap the water, but let fuel flow through. Without knowing the specifics, I assume this has to do with the size of the water molecules vs. a fuel molecule? IF that is the case vs. some other wizardry, what about when I dose my tank with some Power Service Anti-Gel? Will that flow through or will it get caught in the filter? Reason I ask is that it's been DEEP below Zero degrees here in Wisconsin in the last month many times; I've been adding additional anti-gel as a precaution.
      2. What happens if my fuel does start to gel? Would I be able to run some of the Power Service "Diesel 911" with the new filter system and be ok or would the additive bond with the water molecules and get caught in the filter making me have to change the filter anyway?
      Thanks for the info -
