I don’t understand why people think it’s just nostalgia. We had consistent updates, 10 seasons, good map locations with multiple biomes, no crossovers being forced, fun loot pool, originality, no sbmm till season 10, no bots filling in games making the game which ruins the satisfaction when getting a lot of kills and winning games.
Agree to most of the points, but the map wasnt that good tbh. Chapter 4 showed us, how good a map can really be now. The Chapter one map is a bit ugly with the random hills and the very horrible looking river... Hot Take: Chapter 4 (season 1 and 2) had the best map ever
That’s exactly what nostalgia is. Nostalgia doesn’t automatically mean it’s bad but we can’t now admit we appreciated it all the time because most of the time in chapter 1 it was mostly complains. This is coming from someone who started playing in ch1s1
@ your wrong you’ve never obviously never played chapter 1 in your life chapter 1 has the best map design ever and had multiple biomes chapter 4 map was as and terrible as
@ no chapter 1 was about two complains max from season 5 to season x that’s about 12 complaints so chapter 1 is still better as for chapter 2-5 had way more complaints
I think why the reason why OG season was so good was because of most of the movement options were removed. Nowadays you can rotate to the other side of the map with a car, but back then choosing where to drop was a much more impactful decision, as you wouldn't see that many other locations in one game. The pacing is a little slower, but I believe the game benefited from that in OG season. The movement that we did get in the form of vehicles was reasonable, and not flying around the map in a car at 100 km/h.
For the longest time I thought it was definitely nostalgia clouding my view of chapter 1 until I played Fortnite OG last year. I hadn’t had that much fun in the game in years. Hopefully with a more faithful recreation of the OG map in December it can recapture the amount of fun I had way back when the game originally released in 2017
Early C1 was kind of scuffed but the later seasons were genuinely peak game design. Always a POI to drop at, unique weapons every so often, and you always had your trusty Tilted Towers.
I agree. Early Fortnite looked boring, but really picked up later on. Seasons 5 through 9 were peak Fortnite to me. The best map, items, weapons and vehicles. I enjoyed season 8 the most. Still had Tilted, and also the ballers and geysers were so fun.
Chapter 1 was so popular because the UI was simple, Epic was being creative for the shop, and not everyone was so damn sweaty. Nowadays, the UI is a mess. The shop is just collabs. Only half of players you come across are human. And almost everyone sweats their balls off building houses faster than I can even say “He’s real”. It’s ridiculous, and with OG being out now, they need to remove bots, revert the movement, bring back the old graphics and for the love of god REMOVE SBMM
I keep saying this, Fortnite OG was the proof that it wasnt nostalgia. Sure Chapter 1 had dark times *drum shotgun* but youll never see the stuff they put out in this chapter like in other ones. We got stuff like pabes, poison dart traps, storm flip, the grappler. Introduction to a lot of things, it was just good and memorable. Nkt saying other chapters are bad, Chapter 1 was just so Chaotic in a good way
@@jab9799 exactly, even remix helps support this by just throwing in a bunch of iconic ch1 items like impulses, port a forts, clingers, jetpacks, boogie bombs etc cause it would have been boring without. Ch1 had so much variety
I was too young to play at the time, but I watched my older brother play and made memories just by watching. It was a legendary experience, I still smile remembering the time he won a game with 20 kills. Re-OG was amazing, I made unforgettable memories with my friends, and I'm over the moon to be able to do it again now, permanently. Can't wait!
Even if you say that not every update that Chapter 1 had was good, at least we had consistent loot pool changes and new additions being put into the game unlike later chapters ESPECIALLY Chapter 2
My friend passed away during CHPT1 Season 7, and man Fortnite has never been the same for me. I feel like im going to cry having the ability to replay all these previous seasons. Icing on the cake would be the OG graphics and the movement system. It probs won't happen but man, that would truly be "OG"
I'm convinced the people who say "it's just nostalgia" are people who either didn't play back then or they were too young to actually enjoy the game properly back then, coz it really isn't just nostalgia lmao. Fortnite was refreshing, people back in 2017 were so used to shooter games being the same, they were either first person or had realistic graphics, and that was just repetitive af. Fortnite however was cartoony, third person, had a unique building feature which made the game stand out AND it was free, it was a breath of fresh air honestly. But once chapter 2 arrived, a good majority of that faded away, yes chapter 2 was still cartoony but it lowkey did start becoming more realistic, and collabs become wayyy more common and took away the originality of the game, it also introduced sbmm (which fyi, sbmm fucking sucks, in ALL games it sucks) ANDDD introduced bot/ai players, it took away the special feeling chapter 1 gave, the map was also oversized in chapter 2 and BARELY changed, another thing that made chapter 1 so unique is the fact the map was CONSTANTLY changing, the swamp biome got transformed into an entire desert, an iceberg hit the map adding a massive snowy biome, it was so cool and unique, and those map changes stayed permanently, all chapter 2 really changed with the map was the middle island lol, the rest BARELY changed and it was boring. Chapter 1 also had better weapon models, they were cartoony and lowkey silly looking, chapter 2 and every chapter after lowkey took itself too serious. It isn't nostalgia, it was genuinely just such a great game back then and I'm PRAYING they do it justice once it returns permanently. Maybe I'm just being biased here considering I didn't really grow up with online games until 2017, but chapter 1 of fortnite is a top 3 online game of all time, maybe even a top 10 GAME of all time, it was special. Don't get me wrong, I also have love for some of the chapter 2 seasons, hell, even chapter 3 season 1. I love some of the content those chapters had to offer, but they just don't compare WHATSOEVER, anyways, thats enough ranting.
@ because it doesn't actually pair you with players on YOUR skill level, 80% of the time you're just going against players better then you, it just isn't how it should be, it could've been handled better. Another reason why it sucks is because back in chapter 1 (where sbmm wasn't a thing), you could literally just come across ANY player, a player 10x better then u or defaults, just anyone, and it made the game so unique. Thats a reason why Ceeday stopped playing the game, people like him used to mess around with defaults, but he couldn't really do that anymore, and he dislikes how theres ai bot players in the game now, all of that just took away the charm on why some people fell inlove with the game to begin with, even Fe4rless was someone who trolled defaults and made funny bits in his videos with that, he couldn't really do that anymore tho, no wonder he only has a couple of chapter 2 videos and never uploaded again, I can't blame him for that honestly. Sbmm just isn't fun, and having bots isn't either, sbmm is only good for ranked modes
@@ThisIsAHandle-xz5yo SKMM is good if ur bad at the game, which the majority of the population is, but once u hit a certain point there is no such thing as having fun anymore just a sweat fest 24/7 every game feels like a scrim or fncs lmao. all games do it now, cod sucks to play casually if your actually good at it.
I swear the deafening silence in the game truly made it so eerie. There were games where I only heard the sounds of chests, my own footsteps, the circle closing in and the wind blowing.
The #1 argument I ever hear if I say I don’t like modern Fortnite and I like old Fortnite more. Is this. Always the “it’s just nostalgia” I quite literally downloaded Project ERA. And still had 10x more fun than modern Fortnite. Not nostalgia. Was just better.
Bro the crossbow was amazing back in the day, it was literally like a sniper with infinite ammo. It was also extremely satisfying to use, the sounds when u shoot and get a headshot were mwuah.
It is nostalgia... I remember how i was bad and when i went to Tilted Tower i knew it will be shit storm and it was fun. And you basically won the game if you survived Tilted, because almost every good player went there haha and the gameplay was simple. Yeah good old times. After chapter 1 it was never like before... So it nostalgia. But great video
"Nobody's gonna play chapter 1 again if it's permanent" I will play season 1 because I did not get to play it the first time I will play season 2 because I did not get to play it the first time I will play season 3 because I did not get to play it the first time I will play season 4 because it was my first season, and it wasn't in OG Remix I will... probably play season 5 I will play season 6 because the quad crasher is fun as hell, especially if they bring back the pre-nerf version I will play season 7 because ALL of the snow biome will be back I will play season 8 because ALL of the Jungle biome will be back I will play season 9 because the movement and futuristic theme is cool I will play season X for it being the most chaotic season in chapter 1
I keep saying this on every fortnite og video, the game just needs an OG gamemode where there isnt turbo building and editing. It will make the skill gap much lower and fun for everyone. And no, we dont wanna play zero build. Building makes fortnite, well fortnite.
bro this video was so good watched it all and then went back to fully understand intro ended up studying editing a bit for my own stuff, bro got 160% retention from me. NO EXAGERATION one of the best ytubers i seen in years i love the way the video works. keep it up
If December 6th isn’t perfect I’m quitting, the metaverse direction absolutely sucks, I grinder season og so hard I played it on my android in class, it was THAT good so if December 6th is literally exactly like the old game, I’m never stopping playing daily
Good, I'm happy that people are willing to vote with their time/wallet. The Metaverse is a stupid idea, it has always been a stupid idea, and nothing good has ever come out of it. If they mess this up, I am quitting until they get good again just like I did when C4S2 was so awful.
Im playing this game since season 0 chapter 1 and I must say it was best chapter we ever had. All the weapons seemed fun, the locations were just unique in some way and I always wanted to land in most of them, but in recent chapters, I feel like there are like 2-3 POIs that are actually cool and worth to land. I also prefer the hit-scan weapon over the weapons we had now. Only thing that I kind of dislike is when people want to even get rid of some of the cool mechanics, like sprinting, mantling etc.
One thint I miss is when everything was more simple we didnt have currency, no advanced movement, no medallions, nothing super crazy I think up until like chapter 2 season 3 everything felt solid
I said the exact same thing. It’s the SIMPLICITY that makes Fortnite OG amazing to play. Not because that we’re “blinded by nostalgia.” The mythic POIs, the theme’s gimmicks, etc. is interesting as well but it’s only fun for so long until it becomes a nuisance. Returning to Chapter 1 without having to deal with all of the OP bullcrap is honestly a breath of fresh air.
It is nostalgia. It's clouding your judgemental and giving you biased opinions. As does the same go for ch2 players such as myself who think ch2 was peak fortnite. The memories you made, and the good times you had, remembering the feeling of getting your first dub ever o fortnite. Thays why you ch1 plauers think it's the best. Nostalgia. The map was boring compared to ch2.
@ that’s all y’all say, “it’s nostalgia” Every chapter and every season always introduced some feature that had its perks but it became a distraction and more of a chore as each chapter went by. Which is why I lost interest with Fortnite as a whole as time passed by. We have our reasons when we are told what makes Fortnite OG good. People like YOU just constantly refuse to hear the facts. 😂 And in all honesty, Chapter 2 wasn’t even great. Ch2S2 (to which y’all say is Fortnite’s Prime) is honestly one of the weakest and it’s was only “great” because the entire world was under Lockdown during a pandemic. People had nothing better to do. The later half of the chapter past Primal, especially with Invasion was considered to be an enjoyable part of that chapter. But as I mentioned before, you refuse to listen to the facts.
C1S8+C1S9 were absolute peak, undoubtedly some of the most fun gaming experiences I've ever had, and going back to it last year felt amazing, even if I wish they brought back the volcano in OG. C1S7 through C2S4 was undoubtedly the best era of fortnite, even if it did have that really rough spot with season X
thats how i know ur not an OG!! Chapter 1 Season 2-4 was by far the peak of fortnite. I remember the feeling of my heart literally beating out of my chest when there was 3 people left, Finding new hiding spots. Season 7 and onwards felt way too competitive. It felt like everyone was trying to be a ‘sweat’ when really the best days were the ones where i would physically scream if i got a win 🤣
One subtle detail I hope they change back is the scope reticles, specifically the snipers. I miss the original thin cross so much. I’m not a big fan of the new sniper reticle
Chapter 1 isn't about nostalgia its about how it FEELS. It was so much fun using shopping carts, atks, quad crashers and more to troll a random duo or default skin who had no idea how to play. The old emotes are a note too because of how creative they were and isn't just a boring tiktok dance. Guns...the feeling of finding a gold scar in a chest was so fun nowadays it's like "yay...." and thats it. The map..the most iconic map we have ever had landing at tilted and seeing half of the lobby going there tesed your skill to see if you were going to survive. Events...the rocket event, monster vs mech, seeing the comet in the sky in season 2 was so mysterious and of course the end of chapter 1...the chaos of people waiting 3 days was absolutely legendary and won ever be recreated... Overall, having OG back is great imo because of how it felt back in the day.
As an old timer I find it funny to see repeating cycles with the younger generation. I won't discredit your sentiment, but what makes these games great in their time was the novelty and the friends you played it with. For another generation it was Halo CE and for another it was Goldeneye, if you really want to go oldschool, Quake and DOOM II were some of the most fun back then, and now seldomly anyone plays them (the multiplayer side), we've moved on, their prime came to an end. I actually picked up Fortnite in C1 when it launched, it was rough, but I stuck by it because the team behind it had a genuine care for the game. If you play Fortnite Save The World, which while very different gameplay wise, has all the charm and character that made Fortnite unique when it came to public consciousness. After 2 console generations of grayed out sepia filtered military shooters, Fortnite was a very welcome breathe of fresh air, and still, to this day, the creative team behind it is strong and constantly trying to push the bar with what they can implement in the game. Chapter 1 was never perfect, the loopool and mobility was rough, the mechanics were unrefined, the game design was unpolished, the events were smaller scaled. But there was a genuine charm to it getting pieced together and becoming a coherent package, it literally started as a mod for a tower defense game and it has come really far. Yes, it's nostalgia, but not unfounded. There was something special with this game at launch and there's a reason people rememeber it fondly.
For me the best maps were the ones that seemed like a totally normal island, no weird magical locations or zombies or anything. Just a simple island and it worked so well.
I can't wait for the OG Mode. Yesterday, I lost my mind again because of these overpowered mythics and Boss NPCs. I can't wait for the fair and normal gameplay from Chapter 1 without everyone driving around at light speed in cars with 1,000+ health.
OG Fortnite was so legendary because everyone knew nothing and everyone was terrible at the game. That means anyone could have a chance of winning and there was no sbmm back then but nowadays it’s just a huge sweat fest With terrible sbmm😢😢
Imo it was literally the game just feeling smoother, the old movement also added to that, the old map being smaller and more ideal (easier to look for players and pick fights) and the fact the map was CONSTANTLY changing and having the changes stay permanently, we were also on that map for years so we grew attached to it, chapters only lasting a year now takes away the love and value towards maps. The game also wasn't a wannabe metaverse overfilled with daily collabs and shitty creative maps everywhere on the lobby, the game was just better. Yes the memories were great, but thats not what made it special imo
The overall vibe with how Epic created the map and aesthetics of chapter 1 is why me and plenty of other people still enjoyed chapter 1. People still talked about Search Chests at Risky Reels, can people say the same about challenges for other chapters? What about the constant minor map updates that told a narrative that lead up to the event? I'm not saying chapter 1 is flawless, people still bitch about the mechs and infinity blade like it's the boogeyman. But the quirky cartoon aesthetics of chapter 1 that didn't take itself seriously compared to other games on the market at the time, was a breath of fresh air to battle royales.
I don’t know why it’s such a hard concept to understand that simpler is just simply better. Season 2 and 3 was the only reason Fortnite gotten nearly as big as it did. Season 2 and 3 was the perfect game. It was meant to be slower paced. And if you were a really good player then u could participate in build battles. Not this cluster fuck of spam editing and building now. Winning use to be special but now the game itself doesn’t feel special at all. Even this new og season. They need to revert the movement, building, and editing pace back to what it use to be. Make it a casual game again. Plus there is a difference between nostalgia and understanding what is better and not.
everyones hyped for nothing, sweats arent gonna be back, happiness isnt coming back, nothing is infact we wont experience anything new which is gonna make it boring since we know whats gonna happen and nostalgia isnt coming back, the only thing that could give back the nostalgia feeling is something new which is fun and gives nostalgia
What I like most about Chapter 1 was the simplicity of it. I don't really know how to explain it, but the gameplay/mechanics were just much more simpler, and Fortnite was it's own unique game around that time. Before all of the crossover skins, before all of the new animations, before any of that, it was just a simple Battle Royale game with it's own unique formula, and that's what I like the most about it. But now it's different, and doesn't have that charm like it used to.
if they wanna make fortnite good again, they have to remove bots completely and get rid of stupid game-breaking items in the regular gamemode. If they want those items in its own gamemode by all means do so, they are fun. But part of what made chapter 1 so great was that it was bare bones, it felt like an actual challenge and so winning was so rewarding. Nowadays its just land in, kill like 20 bots using some op mythic that 1 in 5 people have and then end up dying to some sweat (a real player)
I really miss the old aesthetic of fornite. That’s what made so many fall in love with the game. I miss the old skins, guns, map, and theme. I hate the lazy battle passes and crossover skins
The og map just had so much more love put into it, i love the new seasons but even i can say the og was better, it is also more cartoon like compared to the realistic ish maps we get now
Honestly the simplicity of the game made it good during chapter 1, now it’s just a bunch of colabs with bigger brands and they added a whole bunch of things that make the game overwhelming, each new season I have to juggle more things that weren’t there the previous.
Could not have said it better. GAMEPLAY SIMPLICITY! Finally hearing someone talk about it. Mythics, bosses, crazy items with learning curve mechanics, realistic graphics, all make the game worse.
It is nostalgia going back in time when it comes to technology is literally going back in time when it comes to technology. Less features less everything …most everybody forgot about almost everything from that long ago when these seasons are brought back, they’re adding new features and making a better experience, they spicing it up. They’re making it more of 2024. spend money on figuring out how to detect the majority of the people that are cheating who cares about old seasons from six or seven years ago
unrelated but i wish they wouldve started the OG mode on season 2 or season 7 so we could have it during christmas , s7 was my all time favorite by far
OG was so much fun when it came out, but ngl i am not very excited for the perma OG mode. Just not what im trying to play but i hope everyone who is has a great time with it.
I think it's a step in the right direction compared to 2023 "Season OG" but I still don't think it will be as good as an exact replica would be. The reason I liked old Fortnite was because the pacing was different, there were no bots, you couldn't easily run away from a fight so you had to think about every move you did, and there were sound effects that no longer exist that helped build pressure. It felt like the Hunger Games, and I don't think the different sounds, UI, and graphics will capture what I liked about old Fortnite. Just feels like Epic did their take on what it would be like if it was made in Creative.
I honestly think its a good idea, cuz if Chapter 6 is a bust I can just play on the og map like if they add any stupid op items. goodd to have for rotation
Ah man, great video. Finally someone who has the same view as me!! I started playing in ch1 season 2 and have to say, while I've enjoyed some seasons in recent chapters, chapter 1 was by far the best. Even chapter 2 season 1 was good to me. I started to dislike the seasons from ch2 season2 and have never liked the mythics and crazy loot (I hated the jetpack last season). So happy the old fortnite is coming back, I've really enjoyed ch2 remix as well. Keep up the good work man
I don't like the original chapter 1 BR concept and I didn't enjoyed it when I tried it, but I understand some people do (a lot of them) and for me is normal that Epic bring back those concept as they are part of they IP, and no one looks weird to Nintendo to bring back Mario.
OG had no turbo build, everyone was real not bots, everyone was shit, the game was hard, the loot pool was small, rare weapons were rare, the game was slow and strategic, there was a story, a character, an art style, very few collaborations
I really like the in-depth analysis! People will often say that Chapter 1 is before Epic "ruined the game" and most times, they don't understand what makes Fortnite magical compared to any other game. The reason Fortnite has been good for the past 7 years is because of one thing: change. They're always willing to try new stuff and they know not everyone will like it. Sometimes, it's hated in the moment but remembered fondly a year later. Despite the constant changes, they always seem to understand what will keep people playing. Unlike any other game, they're willing to almost literally go back in time to a simpler time. Now a lot of other games are following this choice. The new OG mode is proof that they understand their playerbase by providing a game for both people who prefer the old and the new Fortnite. As someone who has played for 7 years now, I can say there hasn't been a time I've hated the game (saying this as someone who loved chapter 5 season 3).
@@Platapart well said, thanks for watching and thank you for your input! Change is necessary for this game, and can be/usually is great, but at a certain point we lose almost everything that the game was originally, which was also amazing on its own. Giving us OG and current Ch6 onward BR is a great play
I think OG Fortnite is so good because it's simple, there aren't a million different items every where, graphics don't try to be ultra realistic, there aren't upgrades, it's just loot, shoot, build. That's fun forme at least
The biggest thing that made og fortnite so good was that everybody was bad at the beginning and all the og players back then were kids and we were experiencing one of the greatest games ever from day one. The people who didn’t play the first 2 or 3 seasons will never know how the og feeling was. Landing as a squad with 0 knowledge about editing and building you made up ridiculous tactics as a team since nobody did better either. The consistency of Fortnite and the love from epic games made og fortnite the best gaming experience ever. The bad graphics, the unbalanced weapons and the sheer dedication you had to get that first win were truly remarkable, but with every peak there comes a downfall. In my opinion it started with playground and creative, sure it had many great and fun maps, but the fact that people spent hours in creative practicing made the game much more competitive rather than fun. People took Fortnite more as a challenge rather than a game where you can just have fun and play a few rounds. The og map does not hit the same as back then, since most people are good at the game and understand the mechanics of building and editing. That’s why the og feeling will never be there, people who weren’t there at the time will never understand the true meaning and feeling of fortnite og
Agreed everyone is just too good now. Og fortnite is still pretty fun but it doesn't feel the same as og fortnite. Too many stupid twitch streamers. Everyones trying to be one these days. No more chilling and just sweating. A lot of people who you face just don't have a life tbh.
I completely lost interest in Fortnite during the season that introduced the Peter Griffin skin for the same reasons expressed in this video. Plus, the map was just too big. If I played at all, I would just drive around on a dirtbike doing tricks until someone eliminated me.
I did not enjoy OG last year at all. The mode felt like playing a Creative map, the loot was weird af. And all around it wasnt it for me. It got boring in less than a week for me. Hopefully it'll be good like Reload, but I doubt it.
Haven't watched the video yet, but a big reason I give for Fortnite being so great in chapter 1 was how unique and whimsical it was. Cartoonish graphics, funny items, funny original skins and emotes, and unique locations with character. Nowadays, it just feels kinda generic. The weapons don't feel unique, the items are decent I guess, but nothing compares to the boogie bomb, the port a fort, and my personal favorite, the bush. The game has so much character, and you could tell the devs cared about making an awesome game. Now all I see is a cash grab, and it really sucks that one of my favorite games has become one of my least favorite.
7:00 I felt it fun to say chapter 1 OG gameplay style still works after just telling all the changes to mobility and weapons, I think it is a little far from the real OG gameplay style indeed. One of my main problem in chapter 1 with the game was mobility because it made the game to feel more boring as you spent a lot of time moving from one POI to another across an empty grass plain and it was hard to find other people.
i have been wondering this for a while now. but why is your pfp a lego star wars tcs character picture. i’ve been a fan for a while and your videos are awesome
@@DexcifyFN cause lego stormtrooper han solo is based Idk i’ve used this pic on other socials years back, i remember in 2020 everyone had LSW pfps. decided i’ll probably not have a personal branded pfp so this will do lol
Actual answer: chapter 1 actually had sweats and noobs, skill based matchmaking not existing just made it so you weren’t forced to fight superhero skins after having one good game even though it’s literally impossible to avoid having good games when you’ve just started
Exactly that’s what I say to everyone but they just don’t listen and keep saying nostalgia
Agree to most of the points, but the map wasnt that good tbh. Chapter 4 showed us, how good a map can really be now. The Chapter one map is a bit ugly with the random hills and the very horrible looking river... Hot Take: Chapter 4 (season 1 and 2) had the best map ever

The movement that we did get in the form of vehicles was reasonable, and not flying around the map in a car at 100 km/h.
i hope they remove the newer movements (auto sprint, climbing etc.)

Slower pacing is much better. Makes the game feel more chill and less aggressive.

Icing on the cake would be the OG graphics and the movement system. It probs won't happen but man, that would truly be "OG"
100% nostalgia
Never pretend it was anything else
Why does SBMM suck?
Is this.
Always the “it’s just nostalgia”
I quite literally downloaded Project ERA. And still had 10x more fun than modern Fortnite. Not nostalgia. Was just better.
same
Bro the crossbow was amazing back in the day, it was literally like a sniper with infinite ammo.
"Nobody's gonna play chapter 1 again if it's permanent"
I will play season 1 because I did not get to play it the first time
I will play season 2 because I did not get to play it the first time
I will play season 3 because I did not get to play it the first time
I will play season 4 because it was my first season, and it wasn't in OG Remix
I will... probably play season 5
I will play season 6 because the quad crasher is fun as hell, especially if they bring back the pre-nerf version
I will play season 7 because ALL of the snow biome will be back
I will play season 8 because ALL of the Jungle biome will be back
I will play season 9 because the movement and futuristic theme is cool
I will play season X for it being the most chaotic season in chapter 1
A big factor was no AI, if you landed at a POI you were most likely going to have a fight one or multiple real people.
nothing yall r blinded by nostalgia 😉
I keep saying this on every fortnite og video, the game just needs an OG gamemode where there isnt turbo building and editing. It will make the skill gap much lower and fun for everyone. And no, we dont wanna play zero build. Building makes fortnite, well fortnite.
Then don't complain about people building and editing better than u
@beastboy11 typical retarded take
Beast boy that take don’t make much sense lol
bro this video was so good watched it all and then went back to fully understand intro ended up studying editing a bit for my own stuff, bro got 160% retention from me.
😂
You must’ve quit 😂
My favorite thing about OG is just the simplicity of it.
Weird I’ve had the exact opposite experience
@ThisIsAHandle-xz5yoyou in every comment, you clearly just hate chapter 1 and that’s okay
@@5yrin I don’t hate chapter 1, I think it’s pretty good
I hate when people call this nostalgia. It’s not nostalgia, chapter 1 was just better lol
I mean some of it is though lol
Yeah and some of the water on Earth is undrinkably dirty, that doesn't make all water undrinkable.@@Oreo108GD
Better but they also can’t recreate it the same. It will never feel the same which is also what made it good
Eeeh idk
The simplicity is fun but it was only called better bc it was so new and everyone sucked, simplicity would get boring after a while
It has to have been the mechs. I freaking love the mechs. The self destruct button made it fair, but the crew shields where kinda op
They were fun
New players say it’s nostalgia
OG players know otherwise
I’ve seen people who’ve played for a long time say nostalgia was part of it
One thint I miss is when everything was more simple we didnt have currency, no advanced movement, no medallions, nothing super crazy I think up until like chapter 2 season 3 everything felt solid
I said the exact same thing. It’s the SIMPLICITY that makes Fortnite OG amazing to play. Not because that we’re “blinded by nostalgia.”
The mythic POIs, the theme’s gimmicks, etc. is interesting as well but it’s only fun for so long until it becomes a nuisance.
@ that’s all y’all say, “it’s nostalgia”
Every chapter and every season always introduced some feature that had its perks but it became a distraction and more of a chore as each chapter went by. Which is why I lost interest with Fortnite as a whole as time passed by. We have our reasons when we are told what makes Fortnite OG good. People like YOU just constantly refuse to hear the facts. 😂
And in all honesty, Chapter 2 wasn’t even great.
@@animecity9678ch1 map is way better
@@stargamer_1345the amount of ppl who stayed home when s4 dropped too🤣🤣🤣
@ literally bro 😂😂 that was the real prime of fortnite
That is very similar to nostalgia
Only ones that cry “nostalgia” are the kids that aren’t OG’s. If you were there, you know that shit was PEAK gaming
This 😭😭
That charm people remember fondly can't come back.
@@passdellas2c2it’s come back multiple times for me
For me the best maps were the ones that seemed like a totally normal island, no weird magical locations or zombies or anything.
Bro back then a 10+kill game win meant you were shittin on the whole lobby nowadays a 20bomb doesnt even feel legit bc 50% of the lobby is bots
i’m excited for chapter 1 season 1 coming back, not because of nostalgia, because it’s genuinely better than what they’re putting out now
and get rid of the bots in the game.
It wasn't just nostalgia, it was that people liked simplicity then + the nostalgia
Imo its the memories that made Fortnite so good in chapter one
So.... nostalgia
@@Nrbeck ya agreed
@@ItsTheRemixaa basically if you want to pit it that way
Imo it was literally the game just feeling smoother, the old movement also added to that, the old map being smaller and more ideal (easier to look for players and pick fights) and the fact the map was CONSTANTLY changing and having the changes stay permanently, we were also on that map for years so we grew attached to it, chapters only lasting a year now takes away the love and value towards maps. The game also wasn't a wannabe metaverse overfilled with daily collabs and shitty creative maps everywhere on the lobby, the game was just better. Yes the memories were great, but thats not what made it special imo
@ yeah that too!
It’s how they kept it simple and kept a nice storyline and also the emotes they Butt so it’s that too 😂
The overall vibe with how Epic created the map and aesthetics of chapter 1 is why me and plenty of other people still enjoyed chapter 1.
Ngl, I never played chapter 4 szn 4, but playing the OG map was probably my favourite thing to do
@@Iamagoofygoobe going straight from Ch4S4 into OG was so unbelievably peak
everyones hyped for nothing, sweats arent gonna be back, happiness isnt coming back, nothing is infact we wont experience anything new which is gonna make it boring since we know whats gonna happen and nostalgia isnt coming back, the only thing that could give back the nostalgia feeling is something new which is fun and gives nostalgia
I hate the lazy battle passes and crossover skins
crazy how we are already nostalgic for last years og fortnite but i remember i won my first game back i was so hyped
if ur a real og you would not find last years og nostalgic
@@stargamer_1345 at all. It’s kinda sad how they tease OG whenever they going broke
Yeah, I hate all the bosses with their OP guns. I want to play Fortnite, not shoot Snoop Dog!
I've never before played chapter 1. I played fortnite OG. I thought it was really great. It's not nostalgia, it was genuine peak
When we get the Drum Gun back for C1S4 in the OG game mode it better be js as OP as it was in 2018
Could not have said it better.
3:57 great point
OG was so much fun when it came out, but ngl i am not very excited for the perma OG mode. Just not what im trying to play but i hope everyone who is has a great time with it.
i miss the desert village from the old map so much
I think it's a step in the right direction compared to 2023 "Season OG" but I still don't think it will be as good as an exact replica would be.
1:00 The low taper fade meme. It is still massive. I’ve been seeing tiktok’s with like millions of views, still!
I honestly think its a good idea, cuz if Chapter 6 is a bust I can just play on the og map like if they add any stupid op items. goodd to have for rotation
You forgot during week 3 when they added back the drum shotgun. It was actually dreadful in zero build
I think OG Fortnite is so good because it's simple, there aren't a million different items every where, graphics don't try to be ultra realistic, there aren't upgrades, it's just loot, shoot, build. That's fun forme at least
For builds I get it. It’s more fun to destroy noobs. But overall, it’s just nostalgia. The old maps are desolate, boring, slow, and not fun

TLDR: Simplicity is what made Chapter 1 good, more complex seasons felt 'unfortnite' like, you're welcome
Miss how simple it was
"It is just nostalgia" is such a weak argument, I was already in my mid 20s when Fortnite was first released.
It is not my childhood game.
great video tedesco
i have lots of fond memories of chapter 1 but lets be honest the game wouldn't have lasted the 7 years it has with simplicity its time to move on
I completely lost interest in Fortnite during the season that introduced the Peter Griffin skin for the same reasons expressed in this video. Plus, the map was just too big. If I played at all, I would just drive around on a dirtbike doing tricks until someone eliminated me.
I didn't start until season x and my favourite season ever is the OG season. It isn't nostalgia, the gameplay back then was just better imo
The game just straight up ran better on pc than it does now
I did not enjoy OG last year at all. The mode felt like playing a Creative map, the loot was weird af. And all around it wasnt it for me. It got boring in less than a week for me. Hopefully it'll be good like Reload, but I doubt it.
We need to have turbo build off for this season of the mode so sweats don’t ruin the season one experience
we aint in same timeline so thats why it does not feel same
Literally the old patches of the game is exactly the same vibes and skillcap is limited
i feel like og needs to remove bots and just have a 100% player base again cuz im sick of 70 percent of the lobby being bots
Ch. 1s map is just iconic and better than the new maps. also its weapons are way better too.
Ngl I’m part of the returning people who wasn’t subbed
Bolt Sniper Rifle my beloved
7:00 I felt it fun to say chapter 1 OG gameplay style still works after just telling all the changes to mobility and weapons, I think it is a little far from the real OG gameplay style indeed. One of my main problem in chapter 1 with the game was mobility because it made the game to feel more boring as you spent a lot of time moving from one POI to another across an empty grass plain and it was hard to find other people.

Simple Answer: Everyone sucked together so anyone had a chance to win
Actual answer: chapter 1 actually had sweats and noobs, skill based matchmaking not existing just made it so you weren’t forced to fight superhero skins after having one good game even though it’s literally impossible to avoid having good games when you’ve just started
