  • This is a novelty clock I purchased in either 2006 or 2007. (In the video I said 2007 but, as I thought about it later, I decided it might have actually been 2006.) The clock I have shows the brand name as Centrios but others report that it was also sold under the brand name Daka Design. As far as I can tell it's been many years since this clock was sold out, but you may find them on eBay or other similar sites today. It's a novelty clock and I find that most folks really like it once they figure out what it's doing. It can be a little noisy, however, since the pins change positions every minute (all day and all night long) and they will always make at least a little bit of noise when they move.
In this video I also show some battery adapters I like to use when I want to save a little bit of trouble and a little bit of money by using AA size batteries in place of D size batteries.
Here's a video where another guy takes one of these clocks apart but stops short of taking it completely apart... • Very Rare Mechanical P...

I'd love to see this clock running in stopwatch mode. 😛

So, I have one of these but mine doesn’t have a battery compartment, it only has the adaptor socket. I bought it new way back when, but because of the noise my wife made me unplug it, so I consigned it to the loft……about 20 years ago!
Last night I came across it, bought it down and plugged it in. To my amazement it still worked, BUT, the numeral 2 in the tens of minutes, sometimes the central element of the 2 bangs in and out a few times before it remains steady. Would love to figure out what that problem is.
Unlike your version, my pins do not slide in and out if you tilt the clock up or down. My pins remain locked in place regardless of orientation. It does have an internal battery which I believe is a button cell to keep the time in background if the power fails. That obviously needs replacing now.
Otherwise it’s time keeping is excellent.

If you think that clock makes a bit of noise. You should hear my vintage Italian Solaris C. Udine flip clock. It is made out of steel (including the numbers) and flip from right to left. When it flips (especially at every new hour) all you hear is a very loud "CLANG ! CLANG ! I had to switch it off, as it keeps us awake at night.

That’s a good question. I thought they used to show up on eBay sometimes but I can seem to find one anywhere right now.
