My main goal has been to start using WHs as a way to jump to and from my home nullsec system to (as close to) Jita as possible, I am incredibly new and need to move my mining barges into the nullsec without getting ganked or gate camped, this will be a massive asset. Thank you!
I watched this Tripwire video twice and still couldn't get it to update my map when I'd jump into a new wormhole. Thanks to this video and the comments I tried Pathfinder and it immediately updates my map! Thanks for the Tripwire video without it I would have never found Pathfinder.
Awesome video! Wormholes are outside of my usual gameplay in EO, primarily because of the mapping issue. I have heard of Tripwire, but never used it. This makes me much more likely to go jump some holes! Thanks!
You may have already but can you do a video doing a basic look at ships who gank and whatnot? Maybe explain it's role, if it's likely to have fleet with it, you get the idea. So, for example if you d scan on a route and see a specific ship it's probably looking for you with a fleet.
awsome vid, i just got back to eve after a 10y brake. yesterday i scanned down my first worm hole ever and decided to have a look inside after watching some vids online, after scanning down a unsecure D site, and getting blapped i saw your vid were you explaned basicly DONT go to a unsecure site :3. decided to jump back inn to the wormhole again and scan some more when i discovered a t2destroyer had folowed me inn and was staying on the exit hole and was combat probeing me. jumped around my secure spots for a bit bifore i managed to find a new wormhole inside, that i colud jump throu. when i got into the next wormhole after a bit i saw the same destroyer come throu this one aswell, sitting right on the exit so i could not escape into the first `"room" and get out. when i found a 3,rd W-hole i panic jumped it and found myselfe in the first wormhole space, i now had a free way to the exit out to normal space. i was wondering if i was lucky or if its normal to have wormholes that loop back to previus wormhole spaces you already have been in?
If the sites name is something like unsecured, abandoned, or anything snuggly and safe sounding then you are doomed in an explo ship if you jump in unawares.
Have you an example of a j-space system that isn't all zeros on the system info tab? I haven't seen one, but my experience is limited. According to other youtube tripwire guides, the system info tab doesn't provide that data for j-space systems. Part of being a wormhole system, I think.
@UMADBRO ImaTroll I mean, yeah, I guess you could sit in poch all day waiting for explorers using filaments, lol. Unlikely, you'd catch many if anyone though
Great perfect explanation for me. Question though, suppose I get a DC and just happened to have sold all my probes to a Farengi trader can I use tripwire as an escape route? Obviously none of the pre scanned sigs will now be showing as scanned ingame.
@@captainbenzie figured as much. I was out exploring and got my first DC in as long as I can remember with probes out. I still had a second set and BM's for the chain but decided on caution and went back "just in case" and got more... Can never have enough probes.
I forgot to bookmark my exit last night. I realised just after I landed in a gas cloud. I had broadcast a bookmark to my fleet alt, but he was not able to warp to that bookmark as we were in different systems. I hid the venture in a safe spot and went to get the scanner with the alt. Scanned the same wormhole down, jumped in and my venture could warp out to me. Then I went back in for the gas feeling a bit stupid and quite lucky.
Tripwire is being actively maintained again? It was abandoned for a long time. I now use Galaxy Finder and I am much happier with GF than I ever was with tripwire.
I hate tripwire… It tries to babysit you by showing only three “jumps” I want to see the entire chain with a marker where I am What I don’t need is that the map changes every time I click on a different system…. Infuriating
That only works if your corpmates etc can all see the paper too and is so much more time consuming. More time away from screen is more time to miss something on dscan
the link isnt working :/

Hope it helps and good luck! Make sure to use the EVE Scout tools too! They map Thera connections so you might find a lucrative shortcut!!
Yeah I tried it and I have to say Pathfinder is way better but thanks for the video it's always fun learning about new things.
I've actually switched to Pathfinder since but I do still find it much more confusing than Tripwire.
The Pathfinder website doesn't seem to work anymore. Do you host it yourself?
@zebacca no I do not but it was working as of 2 days ago
@@zebacca used it for the last 2 months, basically almost every day. It always worked

Awesome! Just take something cheap the first time to explore and get a feel for them. Make sure to watch my Wormhole 101 Survival video too!
Feels like an improvement even for solo day tripping but a big helper for WH corporations
any reason i cant see the track feature? or do i need to be inside a wormhole? unless it changed since last time you did this video

Very lucky!! But well done!!
Good to know 😅

Fantastic stuff! Thank you for the insights

As far as I know, that's correct
Interdiction nullifier explanations would go well with wormhole vids. Since it's one of only 2 places, bubbles are allowed
Pochoven has bubbles too, so there is 3 places where they can be now :)
@UMADBRO ImaTroll I mean, yeah, I guess you could sit in poch all day waiting for explorers using filaments, lol. Unlikely, you'd catch many if anyone though
@@grenvallion I caught quite a few people there, using an interdictor and an alt in a stealth bomber to give me warp ins has been pretty good

No, you'd still need the bookmarks in game.

@@kliderskope3662 If you can find them you can rescoop them, but yes, I always carry 16 just in case 😉 can never be too careful in J-Space!
@@captainbenzie oh. Using combats I guess? Thought of trying it but not being fit with them I just waved goodbye and went on my merry way.
@@kliderskope3662 yeah, combats can, but if you happen to disconnect with the probes nearby you can just scoop too.
Installed and explored as I watched along. Now to find a corp.

Very lucky indeed! But hopefully that's a lesson learned! 😂
Thank you! Looking for an explanation for tripwire.
You are welcome!
Yep I don’t know what I’m doing and lost my ship in the first one I went in by warping to sleepers 😢
Sounds like you warped to a combat site
Sounds like we both learned the same lesson recently: don't fly what you can't afford to lose 😢
Thanks. -1 phobia for WH. Maybe oneday I'll start exploring
Good luck! Keep your first ship cheap, and stay frosty! Good luck, and fly safe! o7

I use Pathfinder but same premise.
Pathfinder is a cool tool but I thought Pathfinder wasn't properly supported these days?
@@captainbenzie that I do not know, my friend who's been playing for a long time said it's what he uses so I started using it lol
In the year 2024, tripwire no longer exists :(
Sad. We moved to Pathfinder
First like! ❤
🎉
I like pathfinder better, it's more modern like ui and that. Tripwire feels like being back in 2006-2010 with that ui xD
To each their own 😉
Perfect. That's best years for EO, so I'll stick with Tripwire ))

It can show you much more than three jumps and it doesn't have to change the map when you click anything. That's your settings.
You can start a tab centered on a specific system with the + button in TWs systems overview. Use that and the map won't jump.
Omg, without tripwire I'd have to... use a pen D:
The horror... (etc)...

what is this pen thing you speak of, is it something from the dark ages :P
