A few more rules I've found useful when hacking: The rule of 7 - this is that opposite side thing. The core is usually 7 or more nodes away from the starting node, so don't go down dead ends that are less than 7 nodes long. This rule does not seem to hold for the shadow war sites though. Also this does not hold if you start in the center of the board; in that case it can be anywhere and is occasionally within 2-3 nodes of the start. Kill priority - suppressors first, then restoration nodes, then kill firewalls or AVs based on your coherence. If you have the ability to kill a node, especially if it's blocking a safe spot, kill it instead of taking a detour. Utility choices - vectors for suppressors, shields for AVs (or kernel rots if you can one-shot it after), kernel rots for restoration nodes, and self repairs should be used as soon as you get them. Highways - when you have a bunch of connected rule-of-6 nodes, take the shortest path through them because you can always use those extra safe nodes to run self repair or secondary vector utilities without risking revealing another defense.
the "before 8 its a bait" is a better foundation for hacking than the rule of 6! just be aware that when the starting point is in tge middle then the core can be anywhere
New bro here. Hit my first 70 million isk container yesterday in a wormhole place! I was excited. 105 million between that and a data site in that area
o7 Aceface, happy to watch videos about exploration. May you find useful some things I would share here : 1) always bookmark +/- 1000km away from the site 2) bookmark the containers 3) orbit container at 1000m, avoiding to crush it or being blocked by urgent warp off maneuver 4) never slowboating between cans, unless you can afford the loss :) => warp in warp off to your safe spot Cheerz,

I use an Astero myself. Deadspace rep, DS MWD and a faction 3 strength scram. It reps as much as an SAAR but doesn't run out of charges. Aceface is too nervous in null, as long as you're not bouncing gate to gate, and check D-scan whilst hacking, it's not bad at all.
new guys, also you need to dscan every cooldown, even in hisec (to build and keep the habit) , because t hat ONE time you dont...theres a strat dropping on you while you take a drink of coffee lol. dscan dscan dscan, like your pulse. ^_^
Jump through gates to get the next site or use a filament for the next random location. Wormholes I use for my route to H-sec. Filament do not work in WH's as far as I know.
I didn't know about the rule of 6. I just blow thru the nodes as quick as I can and attack the sentinels when they get in the way. Course I am fully skilled and equipped for this. i rarely fail, like 95% success rate. The real jewel in this vid is how you scanned down that data site in like 3 moves???
11:05 I encounter these sites all the time.. and rarely ever win. Although I've trained up to IV and V most exploration skills. Are these intended to be that hard?
I know its old comment, but yes. They are assuming you have a ship with +20 base virus strength from ship, 5 hacking/archeo, and +10 strength from rigs.
@@daneframpton7480 Data sites in HS are have the potential to drop10-50 mil thanks to CV-Composite Molecular Condenser and AV-Composite Molecular Condenser. It's not uncommon for me to go on an hour roam in my area and dock back up with 100 mil in loot. It's ain't Null Relic level but the hacks are easier and it's rare to have someone trying to turn you into a KM. I know it's hard to understand for anyone who thinks HS is the Forge and the Citadel.
I like relic sites in WH space. The biggest loot i got from one can was 115mil. Usually if I'm lucky I could hit a can with a loot from 70-100mil. But that's not that often.
@@Nickrogaming no, you mean an occasional 30mil site, not every can. WH sites usually drop a minimum of 30mil a site with anything upto 120mil so I stand by what I said. There's no real isk in HS
They should remove the crago scan completely. Everyone should only go to kill someone, or do the notes if he could take the risk of losing a bunch of ISK or doesnt get well payed. But yeah, in such a game where everything is allowed everyone should use that Scanner. Because nobody else cares in PvP. The Moral got lost in Eve right at he start of the game.
That's what makes the heron really the only T1 explorer of choice as it has enough slots to fit a cargo scanner. EDIT: It can be soul-destroying knowing what you just blew up though :)

Your the reason I started playing eve! and I saw your name while in jita some time back. I got so excited that i sent you a message haha
the system core is aways 8 nodes or more away from the starting point, unless you start in the middle, then the core will be anywhere
if you find a ghost site in hisec, can you fully hack it and just jetcan your loot when the response pops in?
What are you supposed to do after you complete that site? You go back through the wormhole and use another filament?
Jump through gates to get the next site or use a filament for the next random location. Wormholes I use for my route to H-sec. Filament do not work in WH's as far as I know.

I tried going to null sec and hacking yesterday but i died to a gatecamper
You could try scanning down wormholes that lead to hisec or have wormholes inside them that lead to hisec.

Exploration is really fun to do, until my hacking skills train up to max sometimes I fail a hack just down to stats
Data sites and sleeper caches in High-sec are still worth lots of isk, and nobody will blow you up
I think you and most other people have a different opinion on what classes as "worth lots of isk"

Spinning your ship around a spinning thing = motion sickness, thanks^^
Is it still true these days that relic sites are a lot better than hacking sites in general?
I have never successfully hacked a single site after the tutorial. Idk why I'm so bad, but exploration isn't for me lol
keep at it dude, try to implement the tips in this video
ROFL great guide on how to fail nodes
