Stage 4 should be from factory with the Harley

Seems to me that with that sort of styling it should have a lot more speed than it does. I’ve seen a few drag race videos with the FXDR and it always loses. Poor acceleration and poor top speed. It bums me out...I WANT to like it. HD just needs to make an actual performance engine. The M8 is a cool cruiser engine, but it just doesn’t belong in that sort of bike.

I really like the FXDR! I currently own the FXFBS FAT BOB 114 with a Stage 1 exhaust. I have never ridden the FXDR. My Fat Bob is extremely nimble which I really like! How would you compare the FXDR and the FAT BOB 114?

I'd be really interested in one of these but I've only ridden sport and touring bikes. Reliability would worry me, any advice from someone riding newish harleys in the long term ?
It is a totally different experience to riding a sports or sports naked. It'll take a few miles to get in the swing of it definitely. As to reliability, I've had H-Ds as press bikes for some years, most of them I've kept for at least six months. The only problem I ever had was the side panel on the Street Rod would fly off if you went over 110mph. Not a huge problem as the thing would only do 115mph with chin on the tank! :)

How can a review diverge 180 degrees from the poor sales numbers? H-D can't give these away and dealers don't want them. MCN gave the bike 3 stars and the most accurate conclusion; "The drag-style FXDR looks great, is the most powerful Harley big twin yet and has performance brakes and forks - but it also has just 5bhp more than a Fat Bob, is uncomfortable, has compromised handling, yet costs more than the Fat Bob, too. ... Overall, the fact it costs so much is something of a mystery."
HD is acting like Fat Bob's are made out of gold, asking full list plus freight & prep... Their arrogance is beginning to piss me off so I starting looking at some of these but I'm at the point were I may just tell them to f-off.
