    Yay! Our ray of sunshine Brother Billy is back! Nice one thanks Billy! You're not wrong about the scenery there, especially at 13.30 as the light started to fade - magical! Well done on the PB Norwegian Rays, and a Ling for supper!
    We were out fishing a quayside on Monday night, and a guy with us had something really heavy on his rig when he went to reel in. As he got it within 3 metres of the quay, he saw it was a big Lobster, and Mr Lobster had the line wrapped around his big claw which broke off just as he went to lift it up the wall! Just left with the claw! Stay safe & well - Dave! 🎣🎣👍👍

      Thanks Tramp buddy and Dave as well, I have been fishing since I was 3. And I've only ever caught one lobster it was almost 6 lbs in weight, and then one week later my younger brother got his first lobster even bigger almost 8lb. At least you got a claw, it's better than most people do. fish on Trampster and Dave see you on the beach👍😁

    Awesome video as always Billy!! Loving your Norwegian adventures! When putting your bait on skinside out, does it help protect the bait a bit from crabs?

    • @Billyfishing_watch
      @Billyfishing_watch  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi bud, when you fish the bait like that, it will fish longer for the these reasons. The skin prevents the oil from seeping out too quickly. Also protects the bait from scavengers. But if you fish the bait inside out it will attract more attention, more attention can get you a bike quicker because there's more oil and fish bits in the water to get a central going. Glad you like the vid, fish on Brother 👍😁👌

    Just wondering dude what kind of net you use for landing fish of piers please bud.
    Great video as always

    • @Billyfishing_watch
      @Billyfishing_watch  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi John. In all my years fishing in Norway, I only needed a drop net one time. And on that pier you could not use one because of huge excavator tyres hanging off the side of pair, all connected together with chains. So it makes it virtually impossible to use a drop net. And that's the way they do 99% off their big pears. So instead I use a gaff, if I am going to keep the fish. If not, I can climb down and retrieve the fish at either end of the pair, which you can do most places. And if I can do that, I don't fish there. Thanks Brother👍😁

    Hey Billy. I click on the link for the pulley ring rig but it doesnt work. How do you make that rig? Is that your go to rig for thornback rays? the theory is that you need a rig that keeps the lead weight away from the bait as if a ray touches the weight the ray gets spooked and swims away which is the problem with the big game rig as you mentioned

      Hi Gavin. Not much I can do about the link, but the big game rig works perfectly well for rays

      @Billyfishing_watch thanks..I can just use plain leads or curve the spikes of the spiked leads to prevent the rays from getting spooked. The plain lead would just be like swimming over a small pebble or rock. The pulley ring rig you mentioned does sounds good though..could you make another video on it?

      @@GonzoFishingIreland if you are fishing three-piece continental rods, I would not get a multiplier. They are just no good for that type of reel. But if you would like to swap over, I can help. But they will not help your distance for a while 👍
