- This summer I was preparing for the upcoming European Championship in freshwater spearfishing in Finland.
Being used to a 105 cm speargun, and pristine conditions further north in the country, it was a challenge learning a new 75 cm in the water around my home-town Stavanger, as this video shows!
The summer in Stavanger is filled with burning jellyfish, plenty of medium-sized pollocks, smaller cod, and plaice all over the place. - กีฬา
Thank you for your great video. It gives me a good picture of what i can expect and how i should prepare for my holidays in norway :D
Glad you enjoyed it, hope you have a great time here!
Nice video, and nice to see more Norwegians share content like this on TH-cam. Looking forward to follow your journy to Finland!
Thanks! With such a beautiful coast, it's a shame most foreigners only now about the halibuts up north, and miss up on all the rest!
Ótimo trabalho meu amigo! Um abraço do Brasil 🇧🇷
Knall! Gøy du deler- skikkelig bra content og redigering! Gledes til neste video!
Nice video :)
Good video! Do you have any tips as to what to do when the sinuses are not "cooperating" while freediving?
Thanks! Yeah sure, here’s the best ones I got:) 1: Start equalizing in the surface before the dive. 2: Tilt your head sideways, as that might ‘clear’ pathways up a bit. 3: let some water under the hood to avoid the extra air pocket between the hood and the ear. 4: DRINK WATER! It always feel surprisingly much easier when your well hydrated:)
Hey Aksel, virkelig flot video!!
Hei Jakob! Send meg en dm på insta så skal jeg gi deg litt tips:)
so much more life in the oceans there compared to australia, one day ill fish norway!
Really? I've always dreamed about diving in Australia, but I guess the grass is always greener on the other side:)
@@AkselOrstavik i think its the cold water theres a lot more nutrients, you see fish here but not the numbers like in norway
What do you do with that amount of fish?
Typically eat fish 2-3 times a week. Also give away to family and friends, and put in the freezer to use when the season ends:) very economically friendly, as well as environmental!
Nice aim, Aksel
Took a while with the new speargun, but in the end at least some fish came with me home!
What is the name of the place?
Everything is from around Stavanger, Norway. Was it a specific spot you were thinking about?
What degree has the water?
13 degree Celsius from 0-15 meters, perfect with a 7mm suit!
@@AkselOrstavik Okay, i use a 7 mm half dry for schuba, here in the eas sea, but i cannot move good, i never tried it for free diving.
@@AkselOrstavik i thouhgt about 5 mm plus icewest, to be more flexible?
Yeah that would probably be very nice, but for now I only have a 7mm:)
Sorry I thought you were commenting on the latest video, here it was about 17-18, and 5mm would definitely be better!
