  • This summer I was preparing for the upcoming European Championship in freshwater spearfishing in Finland.
    Being used to a 105 cm speargun, and pristine conditions further north in the country, it was a challenge learning a new 75 cm in the water around my home-town Stavanger, as this video shows!
    The summer in Stavanger is filled with burning jellyfish, plenty of medium-sized pollocks, smaller cod, and plaice all over the place.

      Thanks! With such a beautiful coast, it's a shame most foreigners only now about the halibuts up north, and miss up on all the rest!

    Good video! Do you have any tips as to what to do when the sinuses are not "cooperating" while freediving?

      Thanks! Yeah sure, here’s the best ones I got:) 1: Start equalizing in the surface before the dive. 2: Tilt your head sideways, as that might ‘clear’ pathways up a bit. 3: let some water under the hood to avoid the extra air pocket between the hood and the ear. 4: DRINK WATER! It always feel surprisingly much easier when your well hydrated:)

    Hey Aksel, virkelig flot video!! Jeg er på vej til Stavanger i sejlbåd fra Danmark og har mit uv-grej med! :) Hvis du vil dele et spot omkring Stavanger så ville jeg blive mægtig glad - eller vi kunne tage en tur sammen?
    Jeg har kun fanget fladfisk i Danmark so far

    What do you do with that amount of fish?

    • @AkselOrstavik
      @AkselOrstavik  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Typically eat fish 2-3 times a week. Also give away to family and friends, and put in the freezer to use when the season ends:) very economically friendly, as well as environmental!

    • @AkselOrstavik
      @AkselOrstavik  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      13 degree Celsius from 0-15 meters, perfect with a 7mm suit!

      Sorry I thought you were commenting on the latest video, here it was about 17-18, and 5mm would definitely be better!
