That's just how sea trout fishing works for me... I can never catch it when I want to 😅 only at random... Great release footage! See you on the beach Billy!
Thanks Billy. Another great video, and useful for me too. Due to commitments at home, I am unable to head down onto the beach anymore. However, I live very close to the tidal Blackwater and can occasionally get off for an hour or 2 when the weather and tides are right. My target is sea trout but I haven't had any success yet. I will take your advice on board the next time I get out. Thanks brother 👍🏾👍🏾
As much as I enjoy watching you fish Billy , the areas you find to fish are beautiful and the underwater camera footage here was amazing !!! Keep up the great fishing brother !!!!
I was supposed to be kayak fishing this weekend but I'm sulking at home with a lousy dose of Covid 😕 It's always nice to be able to live vicariously through your videos. Another great session - got to love the light gear approach 👍
billy delivering the goods as always! i'm jealous of those norwegian cod. i've been fishing on the boat on the west coast of ireland around achill island a lot this summer and cod and ling are just not around anymore like they used to be. damn trawlers out scooping them up and scooping up all their food too! And Dublin Bay has been totally fished out the past 10 years also. Better off in Norway, Billy! love your vids as always
Great video as always, a fish is a fish be it big or small, I have a great time catching small Wrasse, Gobies and Blenny's with LRF gear when the bigger stuff off the beach are not playing. The small Wrasse and Pollack go well on a 1-10g 7 foot 8 Ninja LRF rod, even had a small Bass on it. Casts even a small 2.5g jig head a fair way as well.
My sentiments exactly! It's just nice to be out enjoying the weather and the beautiful scenery and catching a few fish. Life doesn't get much better, thanks brother 😁👌
Gotta be just like catching trout in fresh water...personally August 5th, I'm taking a day trip for Atlantic landlocked salmon and brook trout. It's fly fishing only and I tied all my own flies, I just started fly fishing but it's like anything you're only as good as you want to be so I been working at it hard for 5 months now...always fun watching your videos, I'll be videoing my trip on Tuesday maybe I can set up my own channel...😂
Whenever I see a Cod first thing that comes to mind is Fish n' Chips from the old country, They just can't do proper Fish n' Chips for some reason here, luckily, I'll be heading home for a visit from Chicago on sept.1st, I told the sister, to get my surf caster and tackle out of storage in the shed in the back garden which has been sitting idle for 2 years and head down to Ballyheigue Co. Kerry fishing for Bass and I'll try your dingle dangles for the first time there lug and sand eel or Macks.
Hi William. The food is never the same once you leave home! And nobody can ever cook it the way you like it. So I hope you have a blast when you return to Kerry. Tight lines brother 😁👌
Billy if you fell in a bucket of seaweed you would come out with a fish in your mouth 🤣another fantastic film thanks man! you never seem to miss when you get out fishing ! well done man keep rocking these videos !! :)
I Can see why you live there Billy !!!! What a beautiful place full of fish here in anglesey the weather makes fishing quite challenging a question for you bud do you get sea bass there ???
Hey, Mr. Billy. That little fjord was a special place, both in its beauty and in its population of hungry codling. Two unrelated questions have popped up in my age-ravaged brain: 1. One of many reasons I respect you as a sea angler is that there's a specific reason behind everything you do. So, I've been wondering for more than a year why while casting a spinning outfit you always position the reel horizontally, at 3 o'clock, as the line pays out in "free-spool." Could it be that you get a bit more distance this way? Or maybe less line twist? B. What I'm not seeing on this summer's Norwegian trip are the many days of good halibut fishing you had last year. In a previous video, you mentioned that the weather was so nice-bright sun, blue skies, and high barometric pressure-that it was adversely affecting the shore fishing. Is this particularly true of our beloved Hippoglossus hippoglossus? I can only hope that you run into some of the big "flatties" before you have to head back to Ireland. Keep the faith, Chris (Maine, USA) P.S. Is there a way-like email or even an old-fashioned letter-that I could contact you with a couple of Crazy Chris fishing ideas that don't belong in any "Comments" section?
Hello Chris. To start with the reel: It is just a habbit of mine. It is nice for the camera to see the line paying-out. And to address your next question about the halibut: You can catch them during the summer, but not quite as often. Autumn into winter is the best time to catch them from the shore. They spawn in late december and feed heavily along the coast leading up to it. You can contact me on this email if you like: billyfishing.business@gmail.com - Thanks brother 😃👌
Howareya Really enjoyed the video I have to admit I am a fan of light gear set up and you looked to be having good craic Just wondering have you ever tried for artic char yeah they are fresh water but boy are they a challenge but if you catch one they are the most beautiful fish to eat
No! But sometimes I stack some assists on the tail end, nice and flexible. And hard for the fish to throw. I will give your idea a shot ! And see what happens. Thanks Brother 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch it gives the hooking advantages of a treble but without the damage trebles do to the fish.....and also, unlike a treble, the fish can't use it to lever the hook out. Let me know what you think Billy 🐟
Hi. Funny you should ask, I buy from one or two Chinese platforms! And temu contacted me with a sponsorship deal. But I find her ad campaigns very aggressive, and I don't want to deal with them!

Deadly stuff Billy as usual! They don't always have to be beasts to have a good time! We spent lockdown fishing for tiny Rudd and it was great craic😂😂
No they don't Ciaran! But I would have loved a trout for my dinner. Plenty more fishing the sea as they say, thanks Brother 😁👌

Hi, I know just what you're talking about! Not even the commercial boats can get any good fish anymore. So sad, but glad you like to brother 😁👌

Hi Neil. Unfortunately I only have the gear, and the knowledge for sea fishing. But who knows maybe in the future. Thanks Brother 😁 👌
Ever thought of using 2 single hooks back to back on the jig? That's what I do when lure fishing for trout here in NZ
