Great video Ziz! I know that some people consider stash tabs to be pay to win but I feel like this is such an equitable way to support a developer that creates so much free content.
I don't think it's equitable in a game with trading to have people able to store infinitely more items to sell as long as they keep paying, and purposefully making currency stack like shit in the base tabs is a shit move imo (they are getting less crazy though, now that sacrifice fragments stack at least). Honestly imo they should either make one single stash tab upgrade for 60$ and consider it the base game with f2p being more like a trial (kinda like gw2 and such) and then make it possible to grind for extra stash tabs Or they could actually be a truly non p2w game and make stash tabs included with the game, I just bought a single premium tab upgrade while waiting for the sale and I made easily 40% of my money from selling stuff in it. I have been unable to sell literally anything in chat before anyone comes to mention that

You didn't cover the premium and quad tabs. If you want to sell items it is near mandatory to upgrade your normal tabs to premium at least. And to go further get more premiums or even better get Quad tabs. These tabs allow you to make them public and list items for sale directly from in game, which you cant do with the basic 4 starter tabs.
Also first blood pack like someone mentioned, good value. And never buy the in game currency directly, rather get supporter packs which come with additional goodies alongside the currency.

The premium stash tab bundle is a better value. You get slightly more space for the money. If you're just starting out, I would suggest getting the bundle. The main issue when just starting out is the numbers might not line up properly. eg, 120 for map and 60 for currency... you can get a quad for 120 and that's 300 even whereas the premium bundle would push you over that threshold. Even though the quad tabs are slightly less space per money (it's not a huge different, but it's still true), when you start getting a lot of tabs it's a lot of trouble to move between pages and you wish you just had more quads. Still, when you basically have no tabs available having extra subdivisions to work with can be nice. But once you stop wanting to subdivide you just want more on screen at once. If you keep dumping money in, I'd personally suggest: bundle ---> quad ---> bundle ---> only quads after that.
@@Chkoupinator First Blood you can get currency, map, premium with the coins and you'll be left with 10 (you should only buy tabs during a sale) With the 50 point you can get a tab or two depending on which you choose, and that helps heaps already.

@@Chkoupinator That's according to him, but the real major ones are just currency, map and premium. The rest are mostly just QoL for not needing to organize as much or have extra space. They're good, but not needed and mechanic focused. Done many leagues with just the 3. I gotta organize a bit more yes, but they're more than enough. Like he said, get the ones for mechanics that you will use/like. Though the quad stash is technically the "best" 4th since you can put anything in it if you wanna change what mechanic you focus on each league. The unique one is really good if you do SSF only though.
Hi, it's almost the same, the only difference we'll not have maps it would be keystones, we don't know, maybe there will be different stash tab for or it will be the same "maps stash tab". Anyway, there should be the sale on Dec 6, just check it out in the shop. And also after erly access launch maybe Zizaran update this video. Anyway, from the very beginning it's not so important, the most important tabs are the 1 currency tab and 1 premium tab(for trading). Good luck!
the game is free, but if you start to no-life it these tabs give a lot of value to your playtime. The essencials like the video said is $34 but you don't need to spend a penny if you don't want/need to
Why do you have a 6 socketed bow in the big slot of your currency stash tab? Genuinely curious. I'm a new-ish player, and don't know what you do with that. lol
Yes, indeed. PoE is Free to Test, but if you do not pay for tabs, your experience is going to be so miserable that you will not end up enjoying it, or go insane. Game is amazing, VERY well designed, and all of it around tabs. Fair, for the amount of development. Nobody pays food with kisses anyway. However! I DO think that the Map tab should be rewarded when story is completed and map device opened. It's somehow infuriating that things like stacks are in bulks of 20, forcing to pay. Still, makes sense.
Honestly, this game is a chore with out currency map and quad tabs. You'll spend way more time in you tabs than you will playing the game with out them.
Currency, maps, uniques in that order. Trust me I'm a PoE noob and it was life changing when I finally gave in and bought those 3. Others you can just set affinities on blank tabs and it's not a huge problem (essences, fragments, div cards)
I've gotten all my voidstones and beaten ubers in SSF with the default 4 stash tabs multiple times. With the right build and game knowledge you can be efficient enough to do all content without spending a single dime. Even now I only got a 5th stash tab and the currency tab (first blood purchase) and it's more than enough. Get better at the game or drop some money on stash tabs if you want to pick up every pos rare/unique to sell them for 2c.
No idea what you're getting at. People can't even be bothered drop a measly 17 bucks on stash tabs via first blood pack. Do you think they will go big on cosmetics to support the game?
I dont think divination tab is useful at all. Maybe if you are playing ssf. But in softcore if its not more than 10c you shouldnt be picking it up anyways. And they sell fast. Fragment tab is way more useful imo
Because there's some ppl pointing out that PoE is P2W game (cuz of stash tabs). Let me remind you that this a FREE to play game, and the only income that the company can make is through those sales for stash tabs and cosmetics, which btw, doesn't makes you stronger. There's no question about it that PoE is the best RPG currently on the game market, and if you like the game, if you plan to stay for longer, then definitely buy those stash tabs. They will help you by miles and possibly the best investment for the whole game. PoE is one of the few games that are free to play and worth support it. And to those that complain about not paying for anything in a free game; man up, and support the game. I would love to go the my supermarket and demand everything to be free, but those ppl also have employees and paying with buckets of rice won't help either.
You're missing the point. To play the game efficiently, stash tabs are mandatory. To use trade, stash tabs are mandatory. The game is de facto p2w and to properly enjoy it, you gotta spend some money. Acting as if it was entirely free is simply dishonest.
If u play softocre u literally dont need map stash tab in late game u run one map anyway and no one will buy random lava lake drop so its pointless to even pick them up personally u can juat buy stash tab for 30/40points i dont remember and thats it lol i play a lot and its very rare that i have full stash of my favourited map IMO waste of $$ unless u want to farm maps and sell them
Still feels like a scam that chris said there will only be one currency tab and soon after we got the useless league tabs. Could easily have been part of the currency tab. Ugh. oh well
The stash tabs system itself is a scam and I really feel like GGG deserve more shit for it. I almost quit multiple times because of it when I was broke they are extremely lucky I managed to get hooked back and buy stash tabs now, if I didn't get back into the game I would have been a net negative to their income only because of how frustrating they make the game without tabs
And not only that but they're not honest about it, imo they should clearly have a f2p and a b2p version with the necessary tabs, people look at PoE and think it's a completely F2P game (like there are hundreds of) you can play as much as you want and buy cosmetic things whenever you want/can but it's not
And it's not like GGG don't have the funds to invest in their community nor is it like they don't have the good faith necessary to survive strictly off supporter packs and skins. I don't think the people with enough supporter pack badges in the forum to make a Christmas tree jealous buy those packs just for tabs
@@Chkoupinatorstash tabs and mtx are their ONLY form of income. It's literally insane to me you're able to complain with their method of monetization. It IS free to play in ever sense of the word, and the fact that the purchases carry over every league and allow you to still keep your items in standard is amazing. Yes, it's pay for convenience, but the alternatives for monetization such as paying for skills/levels would be game ruining. It's rare you find someone with your opinion that the stash tabs are a "scam". You don't NEED them, but if you want to grind the game, they are an insane QOL upgrade that carry over every league, and even into po2. I give GGG mad props for how they did this. Trust me, it could be far worse
@@Chkoupinator They weren't "lucky" to hook you back, that's literally the design/marketing tactic working. You're the type of player they fish for with the system.
Wish I had seen a video like this before I opened my wallet. Been hearing people talk about POE for years. Noone. NOONE ever mentioned that stash tabs go on sale routinely. Even in the face of "it's not really free-to-play cause you need stash tabs," criticisms. NOONE. Wasted my money.
Best part is that it's usually always 1 week after league start to make sure they milk everyone they manage to frustrate on the league start. I have studied game economics design as part of my master's degree and this is a blatant frustration monetisation tactic that you would usually see only in mobile games...
this game basically costs over 40$. imo people need to stop hyping this game as "the most f2p game ever" (that's what i heard dozen of times) because there's no way you can have fun when you have to trash all the items you've been collecting for so long to have space for currency, which is essential (as far as i know). i'm losing my interest in this game ONLY because of that. i feel like the best option for f2p is to just not collect items, you'll save yourself a big headache when you approach the point where you have to throw it all out 🤷♀ in some countries, like Poland (where i live) 40$ is a big deal for an in-game purchase.
Who said "the most f2p game ever"? Dozens of times? Ehh.. Really? Campaign is free. If you want to do endgame it's probably $30-60. Basically everyone outside GGG describes it that way. So you're not really doing an "in-game" purchase, it's buying the game. If you want to get by with $10 or $20, you can. Currency tab and a premium tab is sufficient. But you get bonuses at either $20 (first time) or $30 so most people give budget recommendations around those rather than $10. $10 = currency + premium $20 = currency + map + premium $30 = currency + map + fragment + premium
@@redfish337 in Poland it's definitely >all< you hear about this game. idk, maybe not in America, or wherever you're from. i agree, it's a 1-time purchase which makes it a lot less bad, but what annoys me the most is how obvious it is - you can't stack currency unless you buy a special stash. they WANT you to run out of storage eventually, it's their goal. it's so intrusive and feels so bad.
the reason i started playing this game is because i currently have no money and i heard dozens times "just play poe. there are ONLY skins in the store. it's completely free". now that i write them (and show screens coz they don't believe) they're shocked that stash isn't free in this game.
I love how free to play games end up being more expensive than a full game..... I'd rather buy poe for 50 pound and have them put all these stash tabs in than spending hundreds on them before you even think if skins etc. 😂

eg, 120 for map and 60 for currency... you can get a quad for 120 and that's 300 even whereas the premium bundle would push you over that threshold.
I find it so annoying that the gems tab can't sort alphabetically. How is this not an option?
never knew you could bypass affinity with ctrl + shift.
You can bypass the whole spending money affinity with alt + F4
when will sale be
Getting the First Blood pack + 50 point pack gets you most of the major tabs and leaves you with some extra points.
Huh? The first blood pack is 20$, 250mtx isn't enough for the major ones unless you don't get the map tab
@@Chkoupinator First Blood you can get currency, map, premium with the coins and you'll be left with 10 (you should only buy tabs during a sale)
With the 50 point you can get a tab or two depending on which you choose, and that helps heaps already.
@@BlueberryJamPiethe major ones according to ziz are 340 points and I agree that you can't play the game without a map tab especially if you wanna do 3 to 1 receipes and such
@@Chkoupinator That's according to him, but the real major ones are just currency, map and premium.
The unique one is really good if you do SSF only though.
how many of the same gem can be put into the gem tab, can i put say 10 of each gem or
There’s a 500 gem limit, iirc, and what gems you use to hit that limit can be whatever. No individual gem limits.
I really like the gem tab because I hoard every quality gem I come across, and many normal gems while levelling for other possible character or build
@@Ealstrom yeah i bought the tab when it was on sale, it's nice, i stash gems 24 7 too lol
When PoE 2 is released, will we have to buy all the tabs again?
no
Do I have to buy tabs every new league? Or once I buy one IT stays to all my characters?
Stays
they are permanent its account bound
Is this still relevant end of 2024 with PoE2 coming up and people buying the EA with 300 points included? Or is there an updated video?
Hi, it's almost the same, the only difference we'll not have maps it would be keystones, we don't know, maybe there will be different stash tab for or it will be the same "maps stash tab". Anyway, there should be the sale on Dec 6, just check it out in the shop. And also after erly access launch maybe Zizaran update this video. Anyway, from the very beginning it's not so important, the most important tabs are the 1 currency tab and 1 premium tab(for trading). Good luck!
its very relevant, currency tab is a must, map tab is also good if you are an endgame enjoyer, the quad map is also great overall at any moment
If you are thinking about buying multiple small tabs, buy quad tab instead its SO much better
Instructions unclear,
Bought 4 div card tabs.
How much is all that? I was thinking about picking up the Game. I just would like to know how much of an investment it would be.
the game is free, but if you start to no-life it these tabs give a lot of value to your playtime. The essencials like the video said is $34 but you don't need to spend a penny if you don't want/need to
Why do you have a 6 socketed bow in the big slot of your currency stash tab? Genuinely curious. I'm a new-ish player, and don't know what you do with that. lol
He's probably working on crafting it. By having it there you can easily apply the currrencies around it to hopefully improve the bow.
Still, makes sense.
ice cream so good yes yes yes
bigger weapons I need more bullets
Why are you now explaining how you got tabs on the side….
why buy the quad premium tab for 120 if you can buy 6x premium tabs for 165? each goes for cheaper that way. i dont understand..
really liked the video, but i have to say it, why ggg why the incubators can't go in the fragment stash whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
You just wanted to show off that Balenciaga Ventors
Honestly, this game is a chore with out currency map and quad tabs. You'll spend way more time in you tabs than you will playing the game with out them.
fuck yes sale time: almost bought mine before the sale phew
I hope you found a different way to support this "free to play game", thanks.
No idea what you're getting at. People can't even be bothered drop a measly 17 bucks on stash tabs via first blood pack. Do you think they will go big on cosmetics to support the game?
how much for fragment tab?
Bro this no bazzar 💀 Look in Store

Where were you 3 years ago? I had to actually use my own brain to think about what to buy goddammit!
I dont think divination tab is useful at all. Maybe if you are playing ssf. But in softcore if its not more than 10c you shouldnt be picking it up anyways. And they sell fast. Fragment tab is way more useful imo
thanks a lot ziz
FUCK. Just broke down and bought a map tab
worth it
No Premium stash tab ?!?!
Fragment tab is way more useful than divination
Rather than pay for tabs, can't you just create mules?
To an extent.
If you think your time is worth so little you rather make things a total pain in the ass for yourself instead of just pay $10-30.
@@Crab_Wranglerstash tabs are not mandatory for trade
@@DthklOwns wtf they literally are mandatory to sell items, what are you talking about
@@Gloriankithsanus no you can post on the forums and it will show up on trade site
@@Gloriankithsanus They literally aren't, just because you're ignorant to how it used to work doesn't mean it's impossible
Why he dont mention Premium Stash Tab, i think it is more superior than before quad. :/
What I'd like is a 'recommended' price on items just to learn what is worth and what is garbage.
Up for this! I'm new so I want some idea.
I recommend that you get a loot filter, filter blade is a good place to start
I have studied game economics design as part of my master's degree and this is a blatant frustration monetisation tactic that you would usually see only in mobile games...
you save like a 1 or 2 dollars with the sale don't worry if you didn't buy them on sale

Jesus, even the stash tabs are complicated in this game.
just buy trade tab and currency you are good lol who uses that much tabs

this game basically costs over 40$. imo people need to stop hyping this game as "the most f2p game ever" (that's what i heard dozen of times) because there's no way you can have fun when you have to trash all the items you've been collecting for so long to have space for currency, which is essential (as far as i know). i'm losing my interest in this game ONLY because of that. i feel like the best option for f2p is to just not collect items, you'll save yourself a big headache when you approach the point where you have to throw it all out 🤷♀ in some countries, like Poland (where i live) 40$ is a big deal for an in-game purchase.
$10 = currency + premium
$20 = currency + map + premium
$30 = currency + map + fragment + premium
when is this sale? Fake news? 😂
Sale is tomorrow (25th) depending somewhat on your time zone, through the weekend. And more or less every 3 weeks.
the amount of microtransactions is crazy
