RDR2 was imo the magnum opus of Rockstar. Since then, 2 of the 3 main people responsible for keeping Rockstar afloat post-Bensies left the studio. This is not the same Rockstar who made GTA 4. This is the Rockstar who made GTA 5 Online. I have so little hope for GTA 6 at this point and it scares me of what the future holds.
Yes I agree gta online is a big problem it has cost us single player dlc which in my opinion the game kind of desperately needed and gta online feels like mostly single player dlc repurposed for gta online which is a real shame.

Top 10 worst takes I have ever seen in my life. Rockstar knows that if they want a sliver of a chance to make big bucks they need to make GTA 6 the best, most innovative game ever created. Image the jump from GTA 4 to GTA 5, or GTA 5 to RDR2, that is what they are aiming for with GTA6. That is the reason the B-team has been pumping out content for GTA online while the best, most talented workers are grinding on GTA 6. Remember that it isn't just 2 people that make an entire game. There are literally thousands of employes working on the same project, that is something you can't look past.

Those leaks were about 4 or 5 years old according to Tez2, so the game should look and feel a lot more finished now. I don't really know what R* is waiting for.. if you go back and watch the very first GTA 5 trailer, they clearly reused assets from GTA 4 as placeholders because they knew what the game was going to be and figured they could generate hype while they filled in the gaps. Sure enough it worked, nobody noticed the reused assets until years after the game had came out.

It was like their final hurrah. Sad, very sad... Edit: If you want a remaster of RDR, play it on Xenia (Xbox 360 emulator) it's the closest thing to a "remaster" you'll get as of now.
If they did a gta iv REMASTER where it’s graphics ray tracing and frame rate with both DLCs, I’d pay $100. It’s a masterpiece of a game that I don’t think they’ll ever top.
GTA IV has much more realistic mechanics and a grittier story which shouldn’t be compared to GTA V because GTA V is not going for that, its going for a sillier tone as well as much more unrealistic mechanics which in turn makes the game more accessible to a lot of players, its not fair to compare two games that are attempting different things. Despite that, I have a soft spot for both games and what they did to the industry and me as a whole, I even can find similarities between RDR2, RDR1 and GTA IV and realized that GTA V is something completely different, a total satire of America that turn’s everything into humor, and its awesome.. it fits the sun soaked metropolis of Los Santos so well. I also think the grittiness and despair of IV fits the dark alleys and crime filled streets of Liberty City perfectly, in my opinion both games are classic games that deserve praise

Mistakes that has sinked some companies can just go unnoticed with R* and that to me is why I dislike a big portion of the community that sorrounds them, the RDO community might be bitter as hell but at least they don't forgive Rockstar for making snacks accesible from the tab menu (I am a bitter mf)
I hope R* prefered to have its staff focused on an actual new game and that's why the re-releases of the Trilogy, GTA 5 and RDR were disappointments. To me, it's GTA 6 that will show the true state R* is in, even though these re-releases are worrying.

If GTA VI does get released, it'll probably be the last in the franchise... Due to *MANY* factors, especially the time and money it takes to produce a game of this magnitude now- plus the new features and tech needed to play this game.
I don't want to get GTA 6 unless my friend says they're going to get it. Like you said, we gotta look back to what they've done and what they're doing now. GTA 4 online? Can't play it on PC anymore without a mod. RDO? Pretty much abandoned. GTAO? The last update was rushed and broke the game for a week. The game is still buggy though and infested with script kiddies. Now let's go to the single player content. The only game that got story dlc was IV. Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take 2 lied when he said they want to focus on doing high quality remasters and remakes. Leslie Benzies and Dan Houser have moved on and started their own studios. Yes, Rockstar is a shadow of their former self. To see where they were in the early 2000's and where they are now leaves me with no confidence that GTA 6 is going to be be good or after a few years it's going to have the same issues as 5 but probably worse. I can no longer support this dev or publisher.
just wanna say that the 1 year timeframe before the E&E announcement and the release date is explained. bc from what i heard, when it got announced, R* had nothing yet. so basically the year between was the full development. and especially bc R* ripped out the old renderer and replaced it with RDR2s. which is why Ray tracing and FSR got added. (RDR2 even got the FSR suppot and E&E TAA improvements via patch bc it was now the same renderer) even more proof. remember the yellow license plates in the trailer? welll a rendering bug from basically replacing the entire renderer. sometimes things are not as easy as they seem

I never could get into Horse Theft Auto. I could not even get through Red Dead Redemption 1 because to me it was boring. IAs a matter of fact I have 2500 hours in GTAV and have never beat the single player story, because I hated the story in GTA V. Also I have not played GTA V in 8 years or so.

idk about others but for me Rockstar's fall happens *IF* GTA 6 (or if not that then a future "new release") turns out to be garbage. Unless it's a new release it kinda doesnt count for me. Idk why but it all just makes sense somehow to me, having played GTA Online for a couple years. They've been shitting on PC GTA Online players for years now. But it didnt change the fact that RDR2 turned out to be a masterpiece. They shit on us again with the Definitive Edition, but it was apparently developed by some other studio called Grove Street (by a small number of people if I remember correctly). I'm not saying Rockstar is still golden, I'm just saying they've yet to show that they have truly fallen. rdr2 released 2018 , that's a bit of a long time since then rockstar made these quality games : gta definitive edition , gta expanded and enhanced , rdr1 re-release all of which were trashed by nearly everyone , and rockstar don't even give a fk , as long as gta online is making money why would they possibly make quality projects ?

I would say that rdr2 is overrated and if you put away the story the game is garbage and borring. After the story there is nothing to do the game is way too easy the game hase almost no kontent instead they sacrificed content over detail which is stupid I’m playing a game not a movie I always was like why can’t you rob banks in gta 5 whenever you want? But with rdr2 I was just like is there just something besides murdering random poeple and playing poker and blackjack? This is the worst take I’ve ever heard there an uncountable amount of side missions, the story is the main point of the game so putting that aside makes no sense, after you finish the story there is an entire prequel for John Marston, there are legendary hunts, plenty of collectibles, legendary gear, bounty hunting, and most of all exploration of the beautifully detailed world the detail is what makes the game so good dude if you want non stop content that you can never finish and has no care or much detail go play AC Valhalla or some other never ending open world game

I recently bought gta iv for my pc since i hadnt played it since i was about 6. Im now 20 and in my opinion gta iv is so much more enjoyable that V

Learn to downgrade and modify the PC version. You'll have a better expirenece playing it. Rockstar dropped the ball and screwed up the PC port bad.

I hope R* prefered to have its staff focused on an actual new game and that's why the re-releases of the Trilogy, GTA 5 and RDR were disappointments. To me, it's GTA 6 that will show the true state R* is in, even though these re-releases are worrying.
Honestly the only hope they have right now is for gta 6 to 1) blow everyone away and 2) for an announcement of gta 6 to happen soon. Like unless they give an official announcement soon for gta 6 I feel like people will just lose all faith in Rockstar.

I don't want to get GTA 6 unless my friend says they're going to get it. Like you said, we gotta look back to what they've done and what they're doing now. GTA 4 online? Can't play it on PC anymore without a mod. RDO? Pretty much abandoned. GTAO? The last update was rushed and broke the game for a week. The game is still buggy though and infested with script kiddies.
Now let's go to the single player content. The only game that got story dlc was IV. Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take 2 lied when he said they want to focus on doing high quality remasters and remakes. Leslie Benzies and Dan Houser have moved on and started their own studios. Yes, Rockstar is a shadow of their former self. To see where they were in the early 2000's and where they are now leaves me with no confidence that GTA 6 is going to be be good or after a few years it's going to have the same issues as 5 but probably worse. I can no longer support this dev or publisher.

bc from what i heard, when it got announced, R* had nothing yet.
so basically the year between was the full development.
and especially bc R* ripped out the old renderer and replaced it with RDR2s.
which is why Ray tracing and FSR got added.
(RDR2 even got the FSR suppot and E&E TAA improvements via patch bc it was now the same renderer)

Like they clearly have no idea how game development works and even tho thet are right to want GTA 6, the way they expect it and the time scale they expect it on leads me to believe they are either 6 tears old or on the spectrum.
fukem, they can make 4 developers to work on rdo and at least fix it and not sell it like it's a complete game with completed story mode and all the stuff that is promised in the trailer, wich is stuff that is already in story mode so implementation is as easy as it gets.
I dislike Rockstar for creating such a potential masterpiece that even as neglected as it was for all it's life time, it still lives in my mind rent free, for more than a year at this point, saying I hate them would be an understatement and I hope GTA 6 makes their stocks be worse than Unity's right now.
I never could get into Horse Theft Auto. I could not even get through Red Dead Redemption 1 because to me it was boring. IAs a matter of fact I have 2500 hours in GTAV and have never beat the single player story, because I hated the story in GTA V. Also I have not played GTA V in 8 years or so.
Should have bought TTWO shares. You could buy as much GTA money as you want with the profit of the shares.

idk about others but for me Rockstar's fall happens *IF* GTA 6 (or if not that then a future "new release") turns out to be garbage. Unless it's a new release it kinda doesnt count for me. Idk why but it all just makes sense somehow to me, having played GTA Online for a couple years. They've been shitting on PC GTA Online players for years now. But it didnt change the fact that RDR2 turned out to be a masterpiece. They shit on us again with the Definitive Edition, but it was apparently developed by some other studio called Grove Street (by a small number of people if I remember correctly). I'm not saying Rockstar is still golden, I'm just saying they've yet to show that they have truly fallen. Greedy? yes, every company is, but fallen in terms of how well they make games? not yet, to me atleast.

It is a fall a company regardless of the games they have delivered. Imagine creating a subscription for 10 year old game that has been in 3 generations, cancelled DLCs, abandoned rdr2, reselling 20 year old gta games with no effort or significant change, I can keep going on and on. This company makes good games yes but interms of reputation and respect. They have fallen. Once gta 6 is out, you’ll hear from them again in about 15 years.

since then rockstar made these quality games : gta definitive edition , gta expanded and enhanced , rdr1 re-release

If gta 6 does better than gta the definitive edition aka the defective edition I would change is no more tommy vercetti drowning in gta vice city I want tommy to swim in the water that’s exactly what I want to see in gta vice city remake. And skip mission not just radio and weapon wheel was part of gta 5 skip section aka skip mission was also part of gta 5 everytime when you get stuck on a hard mission even though it’s very hard for you. And you’ve tried and tried and tried and retry until you wants to skip it but this time for good . That’s what red dead redemption 2 had there was one mission where I was on a train and I die I retry the mission and die again and then I skip the gameplay because I want to continue the story that’s all what I want to do. And it can definitely happen with Claude speed i definitely want Claude speed swim in a 3d gta world same with tommy vercetti too. No more drowning tommy vercetti and Claude speed in a gta video game I want these characters to swim in a 3d gta video game just like cj does in San Andreas. This is definitely far more better than the definitive edition in my opinion says.

I would say that rdr2 is overrated and if you put away the story the game is garbage and borring. After the story there is nothing to do the game is way too easy the game hase almost no kontent instead they sacrificed content over detail which is stupid I’m playing a game not a movie I always was like why can’t you rob banks in gta 5 whenever you want? But with rdr2 I was just like is there just something besides murdering random poeple and playing poker and blackjack? The game after the story is prb the most borring thing ever if they made rdr2 a survival game with that story it would fit perfectly and we don’t need the DETAIL why give a fuck? It’s a game you don’t need to see how the npc eats his meal on the morning and night everyday I don’t need to see how the npc makes food just make a fast animation and move on or just don’t make a animation at all and make the game better.

This is the worst take I’ve ever heard there an uncountable amount of side missions, the story is the main point of the game so putting that aside makes no sense, after you finish the story there is an entire prequel for John Marston, there are legendary hunts, plenty of collectibles, legendary gear, bounty hunting, and most of all exploration of the beautifully detailed world the detail is what makes the game so good dude if you want non stop content that you can never finish and has no care or much detail go play AC Valhalla or some other never ending open world game

And Also remove all the unnescary details i dont need to see that the npc can perfectly cut the meat Im playing a game not Watching a movie. It’s a pseudo rpg you are supposed to feel what it’s like to be a cowboy in the late 1800s/early 1900s and the game achieved that like no other. It’s not just going to be mindless kill bad guy oops kill another bad guy you have beautifully designed horse models for example because it makes the world feel real that doesn’t make it pointless.
