That was an amazing video, seriously. I guess that I mentioned that before, but I think it is worth saying it again: to me, the most inspiring and enjoyable videos of your are those when it comes across that you are having fun yourself - and even more so when slightly unexpected things happen and you just go with it. It is those moments that get me up again (most of the times, that is) and just go and try something, even when it totally unrelated to what your video was about. That good fun you are having and the surprise you are enjoying, man, that sure is contagious - at least for me. And I appreciate it a lot! Thanks for that video!
Being more into psy/acid techno, I was really digging that last jam. With that mix of the faster tempo synced LFO with the other one, it has an almost clocked sample & hold like effect, but with repetition - I like it!
thank you ricky ❤your videos are one of the most consistent sources of fun and inspiration on the internet for me. i really want to try out modular because of you!
this is really good man, 1 thing i'd love to see is your full synthesis course, i've got a couple of books and online courses but they always seem to be explaining the same thing. i'd really love to see your course, you always come up with different modulation and signal path tricks which not a lot of guys speak about when they are exlpaining in depth...if you see this, please do a course bro.
You sure? I know he made the Sounds with his ms20 but the Filter movement sounds very automated to my ears. Cant imagine him repeating the same movements for 7 min straight haha
@@mod.3x he recorded it in by hand so it was different everytime dont know if he did it all in one go or not but i read that in an article of his anyways, tho it could be that the bass in the rest of the song is automated by hand and the dubby part at the 6 min part is lfo, could be possible
I don't see why you couldn't use your synth workaround live while adjusting the LFO. Simply move the LFO to desired new position, set phase to 0deg, then as soon as beat 1 plays, set back to free. New LFO is now locked again.
This is really easy to do with Maths because it has two channels and two attenuverters. If Maths is synched with your clock it’s easy to send a reset signal and have the frequency match tempo :)
in my personal opinion Bass need to be tight with more focus on having a Deep Beautiful fondamenta tone/timbre that has depth, i think Bass don’t need modulation by LFOs as it creates just distraction because Bass is something perceived physically. My 2 cent are that BASS need just a wise use of Envelope, velocity/gate and manually twicking the Filter while following the track evolution, that approach in my opinion keeps bass interesting enough still not distractive ! Nice Bass to me is: A beautiful deep Oscillator + Snappy envelope + a beautiful ANALOG filter + short ripetitive catchy sequence + human real time twicking while recording like this guy here 👇🙂 th-cam.com/video/QXtXYlJLJuk/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared THO LFO are more useful for Pads/Leads.
ST has different LFO types like oneshot and synched. Together with the LFO trigger option in the trigger menu you can go really wild with it! 2 LFOs per track and 2 more on the FX track. 🤩
Recently purchased all 3 e25 boxes..Can't read them very well.reached out to elektron via a call and a support ticket. Wanting to purchase standard faceplates. No response in 7 days. Figured I'd reach out to you and see if you can light a fire under someone's ass. Love your content and will keep consuming it voraciously.
amazing lesson, even with a scratchy knob How about the Peak and external cv controls, taking into account the solitary CV *MOD* in 3.5mm port. Am I missing another possibility for externally-controlled movement, perhaps redesignating the pedal or animate connectors?

That end beat was killer! Awesome tip for the Peak!
This is good. Really nice demo of how important adding movement to voices is. Defo going to try this on the circuit mono.
It's so nice to see you vibin' while you share your ideas. Some great tips Ricky, thanks a lot !
We love you Ricky you must be beside yourself living so close to perfect circuit!
thank you ricky ❤your videos are one of the most consistent sources of fun and inspiration on the internet for me. i really want to try out modular because of you!
Dang your workflow here is inspiring. Also how you just cooked up the new baseline at 6:48 !
Chorus does wonders for bass also 😊
Interesting choice to put the chorus at the end of the chain.
thanks for this Ricky! I struggle with basslines, and this is great food for thought.

Peak content for the weekend!!! Niceeeee
I love using the LFO PlugIn in Ableton since I discovered what it does :)
Thanks for the knowledge! 💪🏾
Cool❤❤❤ i just bought adsr module. My fist was an oscillator
Love my Maestro. Most versatile piece of kit.
Whow, that is so amazing!!! Thanks for that. I‘m on fire. Luckily I‘m owning a peak. Will do my homework. Thanks for sharing.
awesome ending! Peace and Love from Berlin
Very good tips, thanks Ricky 😉
Loved this!
Ricky please turn back acid/techno jam back in a channel like you synth jam series!! We need it
Great tip. Thanks 🙏
maestro and constellation are some of the best modules in euro
Crazy Flat Beat's vibes 🤘🤘
Nice one Ricky X
One of my favorite examples of this technique, is at around the 6minute mark in Jon Hopkins - Open Eye Signal.
Open eye signal was all hand automated with the ms20 filter, not lfo
whoa! totally! that sounds so cool
Freaking Love that Song and jon hopkins in general

Thanks! Some Acid movements at the end.
The ending 😂
Knowledge…! Is…! POWER.!!!

Can I ask why you use the circuit tracks vs the digitakt. I was wondering if you recommend one over the other?
LFO is the way
le LFO c'est la vie !
Agree!

You said while using the maestro that you have "attenuation turned on internally." Is that something the maestro can do and I've never known about it‽
This is really easy to do with Maths because it has two channels and two attenuverters. If Maths is synched with your clock it’s easy to send a reset signal and have the frequency match tempo :)

every ricky tinex video: "hey, did you know that synths have envelopes?"
nice!
❤❤❤
I guess there is no way to set that up on a elektron machine? But thx for this one! Hard stuff❤
You should make a song with your final sentence 😆
I don't get it. Which parameter are you mapping the LFO to?
Can we do that with the Sh-4D ?
But are BORING basslines worth saving? 🤔😁
Reseting lfo is simple feature, strange that peak cant do it in a proper way.
how to synchronize LFOs on Syntakt? please

I understand commercials pay the bills but it's super not cool when I'm listening intently to your art and TH-cam comes in with the face melter.
TH-cam needs an ATTENUATE COMMERCIALS option!
😺😺😺
bruh i'm ngl i have no fkn idea what you're talking about in this video..... dope tho
I was like you 3 years ago when I first started watching his channel. It gets more fun when you get it. Trust.
@@spencertatum897 Same bro. Iam high as fxck r n and understand Ricky easily. He is the best modern teacher of synth magic
