- Hoverboard not charging? Green light instead of red? Low battery voltage?
You could try this hack. Just be careful. And note that this solution might not work for you since you might have a different problem with your hoverboard.
CAUTION: LI-ION cells can be volatile causing slight explosions if used improperly. If the cells are physically or electrically damaged, the resuscitation procedure in this video cannot be used.
You can try the procedure presented in the video at your own risk.
Presented solution help mostly when the battery was uncharged longer period of time.
This battery was not charged long time (one year), and the voltage dropped from (36V - 40V) to 6.86V and, because of this, the electronics from the battery does not allow charging any more. In order to revive this battery we need to skip the electrnic module of the battery, and charge the cell directly for a few seconds.

Kids didn’t use their hoverboard thru winter and come summer it stopped charging. I was afraid the battery was dead, but then I found this simple fix. I watched a few other videos which suggest a similar fix, but this is by far the easiest. Hoverboard is back to life. Thanks much!
For someone who has never done anything like this before, the actual shorting step in the video was not very clear to me and there are a few comments asking for the same. So here if it helps anyone - For shorting you just need an electrical wire to connect between the two points P- to B-. There may be some sparking so be careful.

Hi all and thank you to help me reanimate the battery. I had different a bit looking board under blue plastic cover. However,I had easy way to reset the battery instead looking for p- and b- . Battery PCB board has multi socked which I disconnected from PCB and then connected battery set true the iscoter charger to charge it. For an minute charger flashed red and then I connected little multi socked to the PCB and it started charging. After 4hours of charge it success. Using it again. Thanks for help all.
I took charged 12v battery from electric screwdriver and just touched the open batteries with cables. There was some spark and it got some juice to start changing. If you try that be outdoor as there is some risk of fire. I took the risk as either it would work or go to the bin. Now is working 😅

I understand that i am to charge the main neg. post of the battery pack that does not connect to the mother board. But with what can I create this skip charge to initiate the battery pack to receive a charge. I have only a car battery charger and a sm charger/maintainer that I use to plug in my motorcycle battery when not in use. can I use a charged D size battery by connecting a wire from that D to the main negative not going to mother board?

Hi, I followed the same steps. When I short it, I can see red light on the charger. But, it is back to green as soon as I disconnect. How long do I have to hold? Tried holding it for about 2 mins

Hi. You are welcome. I'm not sure I understood the question. In principle, a short circuit means that you bring two points into contact using a conductor. In the video I presented as much as possible the solution for one of the battery models in the conditions in which it was not charged for a very long time and it was completely discharged. Thanks for this video it is very helpful. Someone asked how to do a short connection.To do short connection you need to put wire to P-(black wire)and B- you can see that on the video.Doesn't matter what battery you've got the rule is the same P- to B-

I understand shorting it so it starts charging… but what are you holding and using o short it? Are they just a wire that are connected?
The eletronics on the battery need some power to work properly and regulate charging tension, if you let the battery fully discharge then the eletronics will be locked in interrupt mode, the short done in this video direct power to the battery with enough force for the eletronics to come back to life. This is a design flaw, having a system to control the energy flow and make it dependent on the battery itself is a dumb idea, because as soon as the power goes completely out then it basicaly looks itself from charging.
Hi Bro, My battery is different, I have a B- (Black Wire, It is is connected from the panel to the batteries), also a C- (Black wire, Direct from the plug). My red wire is connected directly to battery, I don't know how to short-circuit, Please help🙏🏽

i remember before i was kid.
hoverboard was battery full and playing outside for 3-4 hour until dead battery. then charge. until night unplug and sleep then morning. later when afternoon. again playing outside when reached low battery. i skipped and dead battery every 20-30 times. then now dead battery or idk lifespan.
it worked charged full it say green like full. was 1-2 hour. unplug then outside play working when get road up like harder. and put driving road ramp up. and dead..
no power on holding. when plug then unplug a charge. it worked.

battery work but before it was road ramp up it working harder so much then back everyday. after problem started then ramp up started slowly.
when i get ramp drive up BATTERY IS WAS FULLY.. and started ramp up. slowly. harder then so fastest battery started low battery red light. then no move while holding driving..
and put back. battery become good. then again ramp up DEAD bruh. I miss 2018-2021 for dead hoverboard :(
TODAY... no charge after 2 years ago. and work power on without teardown. playing in my home still working but trying faster dead battery.
then charge it say green like fully. and i tried Punch hoverboard like rage. then started charging. later minute stopped to green.. again punch then charging. it still charging after hour to full battery.. to start it work but won't fast drive but slowly. yeah that battery lifespan bad.
before hoverboard with bluetooth was working music later then dead sound.

I did it and it started charging again. But now it charges only for half hour, then turns green again. I can use it, but then it dies after 10 minutes. Would it make a difference to try again e short-circuiting? Or did I just resuscitate a battery that is too tired anyway, and a replacement is the wisest to do?

Is it possible to use a higher voltage 20 cells, 36V battery on a hoverboard that had 14 cells ,24V?
Can the motherboard handle higher voltage?
most likely not.
Check all the components. Especially capacitors and their ratings. If every single component can handle 36V (42V fully charged) easily then go for it. But most likely it will burn something.

Yes. But you shouldnt. If the BMS doesnt allow charing there is often a good reason for it.
I had one 0,11V Cell in a pack. If I would have forced charge in that it may have blown up.
