Good advice about staying off the roads during holidays. For many years I have avoided roads because of the higher risk

Our setup for vehicle maintaince is really good, we even use the MIR system in our own shops. But one of the challenges we deal with are drivers not taking care of the trucks and doing poor pre-trips/en-routes/post-trips. I like your progressive discipline policy and accountability suggestions. We have one in place, but we need to be more strict.

As a driver you have to remember no two cops inspect the same one can cut you a break one throw book at you they suppose to be the same but they are not if you fight it you never win cause they always write warnings instead of tickets which you can fight in court but not warnings I was put out of service due to cop not being able to do math we prove him wrong in Dara q system but he didn’t change it

That's unfortunate but a good thing to keep in mind.
