I've found shouting at the tyre generally helps....
😂😂
It works I swear (to the tire) 😅
Loving the strap idea to stop the game of chase the tyre
I needed this video four days ago! I'll definitely be referencing this in the future
A pair of the Park Tool toe straps will run you $49.95 😂
Schwalbe Tire levers (the blue set of 3) can be used to stop the bead from getting away.
I like Henry waving at me 👋🏻 🙃
He's looking for friendly faces in a angry mob.
That's okay Henry, keep on bumbling 🤘
Just don't be an a.. to your classmates 😂
i do all of my own bike maintenance except for shock servicing (messy) and changing mtb tyres
Excellent tip with the strap!
Great idea! Excellent presentation style too.
I’ve never known a cushcore insert to hold its shape like that, which is why I think they suggest putting it onto the rim first.
Yeah, no chance.
I will use this method for mounting tires with no inserts as well
Thank you.
I don't use inserts but this would be a good process for mounting any tire.
Great tip! Thanks
Is it true that Maxxis tire beads can be easily stretched using a tire lever, leading to the wobble? I'd like a video about the tire wobble on true rims.
Id say yes after getting a tire wobble on a brand new set of tires and rims and inserts
It’s not occurring from u installing the tire it’s a defect in manufacturing and lack of qc to catch it.
Most companies are good about warranty with a defective casing wobble…
@@Twowheeledchaos I moved a DHF from one wheel to another and the wobble started. A 26mm internal to 35mm internal. Both wheels were checked to be true on a stand. From this experience, I'm thinking that I must've caused the wobble. It's not like I absolutely pried the tire off and on but there was definitely force equivalent to what Henry's applying in the video involved.
great pro tip , thanks
After 20 years of tire installing work, i see this vid. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Spin that wheel for the camera! I want to see if there's a wobble. Each time I've done a new maxxis Tire with a new insert the last bit is a struggle and even with no tools, only hands, and pure dish soap I've got the bead on. The tire was always damaged afterward with the dreaded maxxis wobble. You take the insert out mount the tire and yes it wobbles without the insert. This was installing the traditional way with putting one side of the tire on the rim, put insert in, then put the other side bead on while pushing the beads into the center. The only times I haven't damaged a tire installing an insert was to ride the tire 50+ Miles to wear it in a bit then install the insert. I have not tried this method but I was hoping you would show the camera if the tire was perfectly straight with no issues. (This was with a Tannus tubless insert. Another guy I rode with had same issue with rimpact)
Pedro’s downhill lever. You’re welcome.
SOLID
can you run 3x12 on your bike
I guess this works? I have no issue putting cushcore on the rim, putting the tire over the cushcore, then placing it on a large trashcan and work is all in. Just drop the bead into the middle of the rim on the opposite side from the last little bit of the tire and it seats fine. DD, DH, it's not that hard. Then inject sealant at the end.
Yeah no, try again with the regular CushCore. I'd really like to see you do that with that technique, Rimpact was quite easy to install in comparison.
Using toe straps (or just some other velcro strap) is a helpful tip though. However most of the time I'm just using 2-3 blue Schwalbe tire levers to hold the tire in place.
I know about the strap helping but I love pain and suffering, it never goes on easy I produce very primal dad grunts while getting my fingers blue.
So I can complain about putting cushcores in.
Now do a video on taking the tire off:)
Get the tire and insert warm in the sun. Sponge with water and lots of dish soap. Pro tip: garbage can for you low back
Great tip! Also, use a heat gun on the tire for a little bit before you put it on.
I’m kind of like Joe Pesci in home alone. I make up all sorts of curse words to assist in the tire install.
Does anyone else have issues with tubeless + insert going flat overnight? Every time I go for a ride I have to pump up my rear tire only (only run insert in the back). I’ve reinstalled, taken it to get RE taped, and it still goes flat.
Use a water "bath" to check where the air is leaving. Might be a scratched rim tape. Might be a broken or loose valve.
@@sp00n I tried this. Can’t find any obvious issue…
If the tire is really old it could be seeping through the sidewalls.
@@jubalvw3302 Seeping through the side walls should be visible under water though.
@movetoreddeer If you really see no bubbles, then the only issue could be burping while riding, but in that case you should see where it happened due to the tubeless milk.
I'd say try again with the water, try various pressures, wiggle the valve to make sure it stays sealed under movement, and also make sure that the valve itself is really fully submerged to rule out a broken valve inner core (I've had that once).
@@jubalvw3302 tire is basically brand new unfortunately.
ok, now do it with a chushcore pro...
He’s not doing the most important thing. Using the tire lever to push the tire bead under the insert in to the deep center section of the rim. This is a crucial step in my experience…
use a new cush core and that method of putting into the tire won't work! cush core are awesome but drives you crazy to put them in 🤯
-197392 points for using a tire lever.
It worked until it did not :(....tyre is too tight, pressing the valve to side and tyre does not inflate. With swearing.
Hurts my hear seeing Maxxis logo and the valve so far from each other.
😢
Installing inserts isn’t hard, I installed 2 and tires in 20 mins, to get the insert on fast, you start it normally, then place the wheel with the insert seated into the wheel against the wall, then with your hip, you put your hip against the other side of the insert already seated and you have both hands free to move the remaining insert onto the wheel. As for putting tires on, the Cush Core Video shows the easiest method.
And the cushcore tire lever is a game changer
@@Twowheeledchaos 2 Cush core levers and their other tool also changes the game even more
That looks wayyyy harder
I have a much easier way than this. Quicker and won’t risk the dreaded tire wobble. Don’t need a toe strap or a lever half the time.
Wait, I thought people stopped using these?
