Could you test HR accuracy of some Garmin watch when no activity is turned on? I would be very interested how accurate are HR measurements when sensor is in low power mode doing its continuous HR monitoring. For example when sitting, sleeping, walking around the house, doing some chores, etc.
I used my apple watch 6 with my android phone for the past few years. If you know what you're doing, know what you need and make the right choices you can (and get better battery life as a result, I get 2.5days consistently with my Apple watch 6. However, time for an upgrade, most likely a Garmin. I want watches that are supported for and last several years. I returned my Oneplus 2r - only 2 years updates from its release date).
After using Garmin for years I tried a couple of other brands in 2024 - Huawei, Amazfit and Samsung and the Samsung Ultra Watch is the best balance between smartwatch features and health features IMHO. I like to listen to podcasts with my watch while running and leave the phone at home. The Galaxy Ultra is perfect for that. Transfer of files or download of Spotify episodes is super fast compared to Huawei or Amazfit (on the Amazfit Balance the transfer didn't work at all so I instantly returned it). GPS is okay but Amazfit and Garmin seem more precise. Heart rate sensor is faster than on my Amazfit Cheetah Square or Garmin Instinct 2X. Battery life is okay - I put it on the charger after a run while in the shower and once before going to bed - it would last 2 days but I like to keep it charged. Sure, it'd be nice to have a wear OS watch with a week of battery but there is none. And even my Garmin Fenix 7 Pro lasted just 4 days with one hour of running each day and listening to podcasts through the watch.
How was your experience was huawei? I’m torn between the huawei watch fit 3 or the garmin vivioactive 5. I have an iPhone. Things that are important to me is seeing my notifications, step counter, being able to change my music (not play just skip track). I really like the look of the garmin the round watch face is beautiful and is more easily available in Canada. The huawei would take about two weeks to get to Canada. It is vastly cheaper though. I have an active job. And I would want to wear the watch to the gym
You’ve explained this topic better than anyone else, I’m very grateful.
And I’m really grateful for your comment, thanks a lot! 😊
Using Amazfit Balance for 2 months I must say I am very much happy all sensors and picking up call 🤙🏾 replying viewing whatsapp images all are awesome
