- Diagnosing lack of power on this BMW e70 x5 , with a M57 3,0sd engine equipped with 2 turbochargers ,this is the first diesel engine from BMW that was equipped with two turbochargers , and from this point they unleash their engineers and started to add more and more :)))

The major problem is that very few shops know how to diagnose these cars properly! The majority have multi brand diagnosis equipments and do the diagnosis like in 2min max and then make you order parts. That’s why, most BMW lovers choose to do the diagnosis/repairs themselves and to find videos like these is like finding gold. So thank you sir for taking the time to do these videos for us!

Love watching your videos!! I have a 2011 550 msport that needs valve covers, new engine block of plate gasket and the turbos could use a rebuild. All parts that are not that expensive, it's just the labor rate at my dealership that makes them tell me I should just have them replace the engine. About the same price they say, and then I''d have a new engine.....More than the value of the car so it doesn't makes sense.....it's truly a shame since the car is really in such nice shape. I need you to be my neighbor! LOL
The funny part is that they tell me the new turbos will be several thousands of dollars, but never tell me about the turbo rebuild kits, or the cartridge kits that are already balanced and ready to go.

The BMW M57 of is one of my all time favorite engines. If serviced and diagnosed properly, it will last a long time.

Can I ask you a question about this ? So would loss of power on a turbo be a turbocharger converter not opening the bud turbo waste gate ? Kind regards

Hi, I have a 2008 e70 3.0sd (EGR, DPF delete) with power loss and oil loss. Fault code 41A boost pressure to high. I am being told turbo or bypass plate actuation. What do you think this could be? I had full oil service 2 weeks ago, now my oil is less than min on dipstick. thanks for your help!

Salut,am un bmw f15 40d ,e a 2 a oara cand mi s a spart furtunu la turbo in 2000km.
Chestia este ca masina la accelereare normala pana la 100 pierde putere si revine ca f usor ,senzatie de barca pe valuri.
Astazi s a spart iar furtunu,egr a fost schimbat de bmw exact dupa ce am inlocuit furtunu,ai vreo idee,ms mult.

Hi, my N20 engine has the same low boost pressure when I changes lane. I found some oil inside the vacuum supply line , is it normal to have some oil in it or the vacuum pump has failed? Thanks for your help

Salut. Am facut acest Video Test special pentru tine. Am urmarit foarte multe videoclipuri de-ale tale si este clar ca esti in masura sa-ti dai cu parerea. Stiu, Diagnozele nu se fac Online, Prin tel.etc. Dar, cer doar o parere in legatura cu Valorile Masurate cu Diagnoza ISTA pe care am facut-o. Observ ca avem aceiasi versiune de ISTA +. Evident, eu folosesc cu cablu K+Dcan, nu icom...
Am observat o discrepanta a valorilor presiunii Turbinei. La fel si la testul tau nu inteleg de ce Valorile sunt in "Kpa apoi Hpa". Problema: Tin sa precizez ca problema a apărut de cand am pus Clapete de Admisie Noi, toate 4. Aveam o clapeta Lipsa (am scos-o eu pentru ca avea joc) Apoi am comandat 4 clapete noi, le.am montat si m-am ales cu o problema si anume: In plaja de turații 1500/2000rpm, dacă accelerez usor, am o ezitare ("da in nas") ca si cum ceva nu da voie aerului sa se elibereze, după care trage de rupe. Prima data am scos furtunul de Vacum care întra in EGR si am observat ca nu mai am acea ezitare intre 1500/2000rpm. Văzând asta, am comandat EGR Nou crezand ca el este cauza, dar m.am inselat. Apoi am observat ca, Convertorul de presiune/Vacum al EGR.ului este defect (nu tine vacum-ul) am cumparat altul nou, dar problema persista. Acum am cumparat celalat Convertor de Presiune Vacum ( cel care acționează Clapetele de Admisie, Swirl Flaps, dar nu am avut timp sa-l schimb inca. Turbina are Actuator Electric nu Vacumatic, l-am testat cu ISTA si acționează conform programului. Masina nu are DPF deloc, nu este prevăzută cu DPF. Acum ramane sa-mi spui o parere dacă poti referitor la Valorile din Videoclip. Indiferent ca-mi raspunzi sau nu, eu apreciez ceea ce faci. Mai jos am atașat Link-ul cu Testul. Mult succes.
