    I'm on my second Multistrada . The current one (a 2011) is as reliable as any Japanese bike I've owned. It asks nothing of me. 9k miles with no worries. Best overall machine I've ever owned ( that includes my 05 R1200GS) Ducati did not pay me for this opinion.

      I'm part of a motorcycle group in which 4 of the guys have Ducs, 2 Multis, 1 Monster 1200 and a Hyper. All of them absolutely love their bikes and wouldn't ride anything else,. Ok that being said, their bikes are routinely being serviced by the dealer or themselves or fucking breaking down during our rides for whatever fucking reason, so frustrating!!! But that's the way it is, it just comes with the territory. Look at it as having a hot wife that flips her lid more often then not and likes to spend your money, lots of money, BUT she's hot, really hot!! That my friends is a Ducati in a nutshell. Ducatis IMO are one of the most beautiful bikes around however they cost a shit load of money to buy and to maintain and roadside assistance is a must. So you need to ask yourselfs, what do i want? A sexy hot wife that pushing all my buttons and turns heads everywhere i go but drives me absolutely insane every so often? Or do i want an average lookin girl that will most likely go unnoticed in a crowd but is always there for me and never if seldom complains about anything or let's me down...? BTW guys, I have a hot wife and that's the way i like it..... Cheers

      I’m at 24k in two years on my 2016. No regrets, it’s been solid.

    On my second Multistrada. First one was a 2010; the current one is a 2017S. I don't think I want any other bike. My only problem with Ducati is the price of parts - over the moon - but it's a great bike.

    The design of the seat and L shaped engine makes bike narrow and despite the high it might be way much more comfortable for short riders than gs, ktm or tiger. I am short 165cm and based on short urban test ride of multistrada 950 which is bit higher than this I felt the way more comfortable with ducati than lowered gs for example. But it is the matter of taste naturally.

    You don't have to be tall to ride this. I'm 5'8 and it's fine. You just have to get used to riding tall bikes, which isn't a big deal really.

      @cmelochick 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +aluisious I'm 5'8 as well and ride this bike with ease! I've even come to prefer riding it in the tall seat position.

      The commentator is correct, the seat height is very high. I'm 5'8 and I can't put my feet flat on the ground at the same time. It can be awkward at lights and going down gutters where an extra few inches in leg length could stop the bike from falling over.

      Lance, the easy solution is to put the seat in the low position (as it is adjustable). If that is still too high, you can adjust the spring preload (electronically on the S model) to drop the bike a bit. Being flat footed is not at all necessary, as long as you can get the balls of both feet firmly on the ground you're good to go.

      Lance Link You don't need to put both feet flat on the ground. It's all in your head.

      I agree. I own a 2013 S Touring model. I'm not flat foot but it hardly prevents me from feeling comfortable riding it.

    I had a 2015 Multistrada. It was a POS. The Skyhook suspension wanted to do tank slappies at moderate cornering speeds. The throttle maps let any old lady in a Prius out drag me at the lights, but once in a while would go bananas wheelieing me into the car in front. At 5,000 miles there was a pile of metal filings on the oil pan drain bolt, the longest 3/16 inch. The clutch slave cylinder leaked so it had to be bled every month. The cost of maintenance and repairs was ridiculous.
    I now have a 1290 SAS. Better in every way. I hear VW wants to sell Ducati. Pity the fool who buys it.

      If any of that is true, you must have been a terrible person in a previous life to have such luck, because nobody else has those problems

      Is that why every review says they would buy the Multistrada first?

      Consensus is the s1000xr is more razors edge in sporty riding, except the Multi keeps winning Pikes Peak so you have to wonder. But the Multi is much, much more comfortable. And V Twin vs I4? Please....
