Hello, I haven't finished the video yet but I wanted to say thank you. For the vocals being clear and audible, too many channels are attempting to be Ministry of Sound.
EDIT. OMG. These are charter vessels. It's a long form ad for boat rentals. Haha. Where is Outremer? Chris White? Dolphin? What's next? Will you compare a Lagoon to a Gunboat?
I was thinking the same thing. Would love to know if the bulkhead issues were just on the 45's. From what I've heard Lagoon has stepped up and offered a type of "repair kit" to the 45 owners with broken bulkheads. I guess it's better than nothing.
Let's be honest, these are charter vessels. These are not trans-pacific ocean cats. Even then, I wouldn't trust a lagoon at the dock for lunch. But that's just me.
Great video, would love to see the list of affordable HYBRID blue water catamarans that have hybrid electric engines and hydroregeneration and solar panels etc, that can theoretically live on the water without pulling into a marina or use diesel indefinitely, by regenerating energy from the propellers when under sail back into the battery and also from solar panels to power the house batteries and the electric engines and live completely offgrid indefinitely. Like the HH catamarans or windelo, or the maverick 440 or the antares 44 or the Independent catamarans IC36..i dont know of any others but would love to see the full list.
I think having electric engines, hydrogeneration, and solar in a catamaran would be so costly to purchase that it could never be considered 'affordable'. You'll need one million in annual income for that.
@@TM-tw1py You aren't wrong but not entirely correct either. There has a to be a first everything that becomes more common before anything reduces in cost.
None of these boats are blue water cruisers, they are great charter/party boats. Just have a look at what happens to these boats when sailed in the roaring 40s they fall apart. Blue water cats should be monocoque composite construction not slapped together with bondo
There seem to be a lot of different definitions of "blue water" sailing. For many people it may be a once in a lifetime ARC sailing across the Atlantic and it can be done successfully in many boat types not suited to roaring forties or arctic waters. To immediately start arguing about the roaring forties is completely irrelevant for 99% of the sailors in the world. My guess is that the comment comes from someone who has not sailed in the roaring forties or perhaps not even across any ocean.
While amenities like grills and sunbathing decks can add some fun and comfort to a boating experience, safety and performance should always be the top priorities. After all, being out on the water can be unpredictable, and having a boat that can handle various weather conditions and keep you and your passengers safe is crucial.
The Outremer 45 is a fantastic choice, especially if you're considering a second-hand option. What specific features or qualities of the Outremer 45 appeal to you the most, and is there a particular aspect that stands out as a deciding factor for your preference?
Indeed, it can vary depending on individual circumstances. While some may consider certain products affordable, it may not be the case for everyone. Affordability is subjective and can differ based on personal financial situations. But if we're talking value for money at brand new price points, these are our picks.
I think the Lagoon 55 is the most comfortable and home style living boat I've seen but I can't find anything on how well it sails....I had one coupe tell me they sailed a 52 and didn't like it.....we want to live on the boat and sail from Fl down through the Bahama's across the Caribbean to Jamaica and down through the Panama Canal south on the west coast of South America and then down and out to the French Polynesia.....we will be stopping all along the way so this could take a couple of years or more....I think the comfort of the 55 would be awesome but wish I could find more on the sail ability of the boat......we want a boat with the comforts of the 55 and good sail ability
Wow! Please do not consider ANY of these vessels for such a journey. Please spend some time on the forums, such as cruisersforum and sailinganarchy, or any that you prefer. I believe that very quickly you will change your mind, as I did. As many, many people before you have.
@@handroids1981 Thanks for responding....I know people that started on monohull's and then went to cat's and they say they would not go back.....also understand the bigger cat's are better than smaller cat's for crossings......can you elaborate more on your concerns?

Tell us about it! The prices of catamarans seem to be skyrocketing faster than a speedboat on a calm lake. It makes you wonder if we should start negotiating for a "boat stipend" in our salary discussions.
Blame quantitive easing since 2008 it has nothing to do with the current or former president. Wall St has had its hands in our pockets as usual. Too much money in the system from 15 years of low interest loans speculating on assets.
The term "affordable" can vary widely depending on individual perspectives and preferences. In the context of the video, it's relative to the larger spectrum of luxury yachts, with these options positioned as more accessible in comparison. What price range or features would you personally consider as truly affordable in the realm of yachts?

Nope i think afforable would be around 200 to 300k with max 400k not min 500k
A completely useless, nonsensical video.
I would have thought the Leopard would have made the list. I am told they are more robust than the Lagoon.
With all their bulkhead issues. I would be very concerned about purchasing / owning a Lagoon

what models do you recommend
Fiber Glass has taken over. A real ship should be built from aluminum no?

HH fantastic but affordable, yeh sure for some
affordable for those who have money
