How long of a socket extension do I need to remove those 4 wretched 10 millimeter screws that hold the bottom of the radio down? I have a Draper socket set. The sockets are a bit larger than typical sockets, and surprise, I can't get the 10 millimeter socket on any of the screws! The plastic housing is too close to the screws. So I found a mini-socket set on the Sears website. But, surprise again, it only has a wimpy 1.5 inch extension. I can buy either a 6 inch or a 10 inch socket extension. I'm a minimalist; so less stuff is better.
I'm not exactly sure what you mean. The image at 24 isn't of the plug. However, he was talking about that right before. That section goes right above/after your gear shift lever. The 2 sections above that are just for storage.
I have a 2003 Toyota Carola, and the passenger square is pushed in on the dash under where the stereo is. All I have to do is push it in, but I can't get to it because of the pace plate on the front. Do you have a video on how to get in the back without taking the dash apart? Or any sudgestions please?
Hey! Great video. You mentioned not to worry about unplugging anything. I'm planning on taking out my radio but I am also replacing that center AC control piece. Should I be worried about unplugging the air bag connector? Any info would be great!
Do i still have to take off the bracket if the new radio isn't the orginal Toyota Corolla? Would I just use it again for another Toyota Corolla radio and thats it?
Great video - very helpful. HOWEVER, you are wrong about one thing and I hope to clarify. You do NOT need any adapter to swap a 2003-2004 radio with a 2005-2008 radio or vice versa. They pretty much plug and play. I swapped the radio from my 2008 with one from a 2003 (because I wanted to add a tape deck for cheap DIY iPod connectivity) and it works swimmingly.
thats what im trying to do. is your 08 car same model and type as the 03 car. theres a tape deck radio from a corolla S, will it work on my corolla LE? is it compatible? the back ports look the same. my stereo part number is A51802. the one i want is A56821
I accidentally fell the nail into the hole when I took out the stereo, it happened because the magnet is not strong enough. Is there any way to get the nail back up? And actually I got the same nail as the one which had fell, but however I'm scared that the nail will affect the car's engine or transmission. Pls help me!
Only if your planning on installing a rear camera or if you want to disconnect the air bags. In this case he didn't disconnect anything other than the stereo so there is no need to disconnect the negative terminal
Hi, I heard you can install an aux/usb connection to the stock radio if you dont want to get rid of it. does anyone know how difficult it would be to do?
@@CurlyFromTheSwirly instructions were unclear my noodle arms and just the right about of leverage just snapped it clean in half😂 Luckily it worked out because some usb port wiring gets to stick through the crack
@@CurlyFromTheSwirly dude that dash got messed up i broke then my step dad broke it some more after that. We both were just sitting there in the car like welp cant get any worse i guess😂

Did this to install an aux adapter. Super easy. You don't have to remove the middle screw, just the 2 on each side.

Why don’t both of my knobs work for the 2005 Toyota Corolla CD player. All it does is static and the knobs do not work! Does anybody know how fix it?

Most of the stuff from Corolla CE, LE, & Ṡ are the same. The Ṡ just has some sporty options, but that's not the radio.

you don't have to shift the gear doen to there. That's just to make more room to work.

It's easy. Bought an aux adapter off ebay and it plugs in the back.
