  • The new Glock performance trigger is Gen 5 specific. This leaves a lot of Gen 1 through 4 users a little salty. but little Johnny add a little sweetness to the situation. once tested I will offer this on my website as a service. You guys can thank me later lol

    I found the Easy way to reattach the performance trigger bar. I got my trigger today and while knocking off the old trigger shoe for the vex, the trigger bar disconnected from the housing. I had seen you struggle with it in the previous video, so I took a deep look, and it is so obvious how this is designed to make reconnecting the bar so easy. Just flip the trigger housing upside down, so the spring is exposed, then use a small screwdriver or whatever you have to compress the spring, this pushes out a polymer "T" bar that will fit into a slot in the housing. While compressing the spring, squeeze with your index finger and thumb to push the sear down and that "T" bar into the slot. Use only the tip of your finger to hold it down and then slide the trigger bar into the slot at the bottom of the spring and back through the housing. Easy and good design by Glock.

    I have this set up with the vex trigger shoe, Taran tactical connector,on a new nomad 19x frame And it is amazing, another thing to realize is that it does not matter what weight striker spring you use it will pull the same weight, mine breaks at 2.5 exactly every time, also the trigger stays in the same position whether the slide is racked or not, so for safety reasons realize that the gun always looks loaded. One more thing is when you go to rack with a pistol you feel a bump in the slide because you are compressing the striker spring when you rack the pistol this is the beauty of the trigger, the trigger pull has no interaction with the striker which makes the trigger feel completely different from any Glock, I also noticed but I'm not 100% that the striker safety is always pushed in so it may defeat the striker safety but I'm not 100% sure about that, I need to do more investigating on it

    Not sure if Johnny glock is used to aftermarket glock triggers/bars etc. but I just installed my glock performance trigger and it's excellent. Takes away most of the creep the gen5 is known for and offers a light, crisp break with an excellent reset. I'm sold. I have a plus and minus connector on the way just to tinker with the pull weight but it's great as it stands. Well worth 100 bucks as long as I don't get any light strikes.

    @narr0wm1nd49 ปีที่แล้ว

    One thing I have seen people say about the timney and this new glock performance trigger is the drop safety isn't only the hook holding the cross bar but the spring loaded sear is holding catching the striker. While rare to impossible if the sear catch were to over come the upward spring tension you are left with only the firing pin safety. So the question is could we see an evolution on this trigger where the sear catch is held in place, unable to move until the trigger bar starts to move rearward similar to the firing pin safety. Sort of a 'cocked and locked' situation where the trigger bar would not only disengage the firing pin safety but a new sear catch safety. The hook safety does stop the bar from moving down and moving the catch but the catch is really only held up via spring tension.

    I just followed your Lubrication video and your Friday gun cleaning video where basically you just rubbed off everything with your fingers. You are so skilled and experienced it really shows thanks for all the information🙂
    edit: 'I think what I refer to as a ramp rail below is the cartridge loader. The center rail on the bottom that grabs the next cartridge from the magazine and shoves it into the barrel, or at least begins that process. What is that part called? Can it be scraping against the magazine as it continues onward to its most forward position?' Gen 3, Glock 17 with 17 cartridge magazine
    I don't know if you answer questions but I have one. There is a ramp/rail down the middle of the slide facing the lower G#17 and I noticed, as you said to become intimate with my gun, lol, There seems to be a deformation on the edge of this middle ramp/rail facing the safety plunger. Its is like a burr has formed on the ramp but no damage visible to the safety plunger itself. Q: What could this affect, what do you think may be happening that is causing it. Lastly should I file it and polish it down flush on the safety plunger facing side? I am guessing that the ramp portion allows the initial grab of the next cartridge in the magazine while allowing the cartridge below it to slide safely into the top magazine position, allowing for the curvature of the bullet.
    I am subscribed and have watched many of your videos but have not seen this come up so far in the videos I have watched. If there is one I would appreciate a link to it. If it is something that should not be any problem I would like to know that to save myself the work of filing etc. Is it common and a don't care or is it something worth addressing?
    FYI this gun has had stove pipe ejection problems for some time. I replaced the ejector to the newer version but have yet to fire it since this fix and cleaning. I guess I was wondering if somehow the extractor was being interfered with from the safety plunger being hit or rubbed in an awkward fashion from this burr causing the extractor to grab the shell improperly. Vibration transferred through the spring etc, I'm grabbing at straws I think. I'll know more next time I get out to the range and fire a couple hundred rounds.
    Anyway thanks for your videos🙂
    PS: I used Versa Chem copper based anti seize at the connector/trigger bar and the only the front rail giude on the lower just as you sorta did. One drop of Otter Gun oil is too much on the bottom of the slide, I'll need to take the slide off and rub off excess. Every time I rack it I get oil dragged to the top of the gun.

    • @j.l.8000
      @j.l.8000 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, although it is not an immediate effect. When you load from the mag, the rim of the cartridge slides under the extractor lip. When you force the extractor over the cartridge rim it causes undue stress and the extractor will fail prematurely.

Dont know if u can make something to make it possible to drop one into a steyr aug or if u simply create your own mod to get rid of the mile long pull and 9lb pull. Anychance u can help me out just let me know what u need prior. Dont care if it takes a year im gonna have the gun forever so time isnt a worry if u have a million orders infront.
