My mom turns 90 end of the week and just found your channel and subbed a few days ago........We both agree you are a great story teller when it comes to painting a picture of how the places once looked .....)
I had a roommate(24 years ago) from Belgium. He looked a lot like you only alittle shorter. His voice was like yours. I could listen to that voice all day. He is a doctor of science(something to do with sunspots).
I researched this family because I found this video interesting - plus Gladys is a female name so I knew that Gladys couldn't be the husband. So it turns out that Gladys was the mom, and Sheila is her daughter. Gladys' husband was Sherman and he died in 1978 in their home state of Florida. Gladys died in Texas in 2010, not 2000. She was 88 or 89 when she died. She may have abandoned the property in 2000 but she didn't die until 2010 in Texas, where she lived with her daughter Sheila. It appears Sheila is still alive and would be 79-80 years of age now. It appears Gladys bought this home in 1982. In 2010, it looks like Sheila legally took over the ownership. So given her advanced age, and the fact that she lives far away in Texas, she probably doesn't have the means or the time to care for this home. It's a shame because the house doesn't appear too far gone. It probably could be restored if Sheila just sold it to the right people. The home was built in 1815 and survived for so long, only to be forgotten and neglected. It's a shame.
I just found that Sheila also has passed away in early 2022. Her estate is currently in probate court in Texas. I can't view the court documents - because I would have to make an account online and give them my address and I really don't want to do that. The petitioning parties appear to not be heirs. So if Olivia or this Tammy (the little girl in the pics) was her daughter(s), she or they are most likely deceased. This is very intriguing. For a supposedly once prominent family, there is literally no evidence online of their existence in New York.
We're all so invested into this house & trying to find out what happen to the family lol. It's just so sad how did this happen here (u.s.a) typically that's something you see overseas in these videos. This house sat for over 20 yrs abandoned & its just catching attention thanks to a explorer & not near by neighbors lol.
I love how a room is caving in and in all kinds of disarray and still... "Let's put this back neatly." The vibes are a ray of light in this crazy world. ❤❤❤❤ Please stay safe and thank you!
I live in Hungary.😊 It is incomprehensible to me that such houses, furnished, are left to rot. Maybe no one really wants to live there, but why leave all those beautiful objects behind? Couldn't the owner have given it away to someone in the area? This is very sad and infuriating at the same time. 🥺😠There are also such "ghost houses" here, but there is nothing valuable in them, only garbage.😕Thanks for the tour, it was very interesting.💛💯👍
This is sad. I'm in the USA 🇺🇸 and I could never understand why leave so much behind. Sometimes they will have an Estate sale and you walk through the house and buy things left behind. Then this breaks my heart how things are left to decay. 😢
you cant save all the homes. There are other factors to consider in the cases. You have to admit though that abandoned homes or property, its time standing still. We have no many modern homes that just lack any character today. So many people try to erase history that the wrong person could also take this home and renovate it to look unrecognizable. Its a time capsule unless restored to its appearance of its day.
There are a lot of urbex channels out there but yours is by far my favourite. The quality of the filming and commentary are excellent and the level of respect you show to the buildings and sensitivity with which you treat their story and contents is really admirable.
You live your whole life, and in the end, a random dude from Bulgaria will be looking through your personal property wondering where it all went wrong for you. Amazing.
Watching these videos cause me to deeply sense the reality of my mortality, that otherwise I easily forget day-by-day. I'm reminded to live my fullest life now, because this window of time will not last forever. My life and the remnants of my existence will at some point, be nothing more than dusty relics urban explorers examine, as they try to determine what kind of life I lived.
It does show you like the famous led zeppelin song stairway to heaven and the Bible verses. All that glitters is not gold and storing up material possessions here on earth doesn't mean much But I was watching Martin butler negative philosophy channel and learnt a lot
Great video guys. Thank you so much for showing what the family and their guests would have viewed from their windows. I love that! You did a wonderful job. 👍👍
Great story teller....I just posted that my mom just found his channel and loves it......She turns 90 this week so she remembers much of what he shows and talks about ....
I love how you appreciate the home & how it is built, the craftsmanship. It all seems sad & wonderful at the same time. Hopefully someone in the family will step in before it's too late. The item you picked up on the mantel that you couldn't remember the name of is a nativity. It's Jesus, Mary & Joseph in the manger.
Thank you Lesley and Danny for another wonderful adventure. What a beautiful place! I picture how pleasant it must have been back in the day on a warm Summer day with all the windows open and a sweet breeze gently blowing through. Really amazing. Thank you for taking us along. I can't wait till the next adventure.
sometimes when i get to see a home like this in province there are so many hidden valuables that are literally lost in time so, sometimes when i know for sure that its lost to nature i grab some valuables not for selling sometime not even worth like old licence plates, but things like mechanical watches, books, old porcelain figures i take sometimes a photo of the owner who is long gone... its not with the intention of robbing or loot. its more like preservation and saving old lost memories who was someone's life before before nature takes whats hers literally places where one knows "nobody is coming home anymore..." idk what to think about it... an i try not to i just apreciate and thank that i could rescue the thing

@@nickyl8980 so sorry I didn’t explain well enough. The bros of decay preserve things through the respectful way they treat the artifacts and also they preserve those findings in their videos for those of us who cannot do what that do. That’s all I meant.
You have an outstanding way of describing things and appreciating the beauty of things that once were at their best, but no longer in its best condition. The Christmas scene is called the Nativity Scene or Creche de Noel in French. The bathroom was likely on a raised platform to accommodate the plumbing. Thanks for the tour.
The room with the double ceiling has the original plaster ceiling with what we Americans usually call Drywall, Sheetrock, or Gypboard on top of the plaster one. Its not wood. The Drywall is made of two very thin sheets of heavy duty paper with a thicker gypsum layer sandwiched between the paper. It usually comes in 4 ft × 8 ft sheets. This is often done when the plaster ceiling begins to deteriorate. It is done this way in order to avoid removing the plaster to save cost. Love your videos!
What you found on the fireplace mantal is a Nativity scene. Those are the 3 Wise Men. The woodwork in these old houses is just breathtaking!!! You will NEVER find that kind of detail in woodwork again. Thanks, guys!!!! Another interesting walkthrough!!!!!
So I'm here absolutely dying seeing all that beautiful, beautiful ornate woodwork that is decaying. 😔 Also that style of bathtub is called a clawfoot tub. Very old fashioned. My grandparents had one in their house. Nice video, guys!
Your in my neck of the woods..yes I've heard of them..my grandparents were in real estate and they built many homes. They knew them. My great grandparents and grandparents very well off and built many homes in upstate NY. And owed many tenements also. My family also owned shoe stores. I was shocked to see this video .I am sure my family visited them many times. I don't know what happened to Olivia. I am an old lady now...thank you well done,,,wow 😮 loved it
I would have loved to see this home when it was new. That was an amazing homemade quilt on the child’s bed in the end of the video. Thanks again❤ From Wisconsin.
What a treasure thus house is! T. Anthony is very expensive luggage. They have a shop in NYC selling quality luggage, accessories, bags, etc. Thanks for the explore. 😊
The made beds, the propped up pictures, like they only left yesterday? All the clothes hanging up its unreal ???This channel is my go to for insomnia! I cant believe the stuff they leave behind! Some of the houses show time frames like Christmas trees and decorations left up shows they left around Christmas time, the unknown circumstances that force people to abandon their lives and just leave never to return, thanks for sharing this with us all ,no matter what leads us to you it's not time wasted ,quality content keep them coming!😎👍✌❤
I think sometimes the "urban "explorers" set up some rooms like put clothing laid on beds, set a table, make beds etc. I've seen some of them clean up a bit. Also sometimes in these homes there have been trespassers and people who may have a party or stay in them over the years. At times you will see a soda can, cigarette butts, alcohol bottles, take out wrappers, cards and games on tables etc. That seem out of place. But i do agree with you, it's a shame collectibles and beautiful items are left to rot. Not to mention photos and family history. I think maybe sometime is a legal issue that held up the estates or there was no will and no relatives or relatives just don't know it's there. I always wonder who pays the power bill when it still works? Maybe a lawyers office who is in charge of the estate or the power company just hasn't gotten to it. More than likely a bank owns it and they just don't mind their forclosures enough to get around to it.
I love how respectful you are in all the homes you go thru. It is amazing to me how some are full of all the families belongings. Aldo sad. Thank you for what you do. ❤️
Gracias Lesley y Danny, encantadora casa con muebles antiguos y paredes y ventanas en madera hermosos diseños, que triste que está en plena decadencia de desaparecer, saludos a ti y Danny, que estén muy bien sanos y salvos.
Loved this home and your story. America has so many beautiful mansions..why the daughter disapeared... why it's left to rot. So sad. I will watch again just to go thru the house....glad you have visited to see the us...
The white gloves were "cultural"... It was a very popular accessory in the 1950s to probably the late 1960s... But I can see why you would think it was worn to examine antiques as this is the common use of fabric gloves. I have several sets of gloves from when my mother was younger as well as the fancy hats.
This was the first video I watched of yours, and I must say! You are fantastic at what you do!! Thank your for the wonderful content and being so respectful of the location and items. ❤
Leslie, I absolutely love watching your adventures! I've always been drawn to abandoned buildings and have ventured into a few, but nothing compares to the beautiful finds that you share with us. I just wanted to share my appreciation for you and for your videos that you share of your travels and explorations! I'm a long-time subscriber from South Florida USA
@Yvonne Miller thank you! And Merry Christmas to you and yours! Don't you agree that the adventures that Leslie shares are unlike anything else! There are many other channels that explore abandoned places, but none bring adventures to life like our wonderful Leslie and Danny!
Completely agree with you dear lady! I've been watching them for a while now and I became completely entranced by Leslie's speaking voice...not forgeting he is very easy on the eye...a very good looking man..👁👁 I imagine he has developed a healthy fan-base of young girls by now and some older ones too! I'm from the UK and I emergrated from England to marry my American pen-pal of 3 years and now we are going back to the UK because I have a very good pension there and while I've been here my UK pension has been halved....so I've been losing a lot of money just by being here. Be safe my friend and stay healthy.🙂🙃
Lesley and Danny tell us creative stories of what we see. I do that same thing. Some are factual; some are good guesses; some are way off (funny later when we find out what it is or already know). Such a lovely home. I wish such places could be kept intact to preserve history with tours or teaching. Some of the construction is building onto the home. Outside washing areas were built around to the point you might see outside siding in the middle of the home!
Its not funny when we later find out that Leslie virtually does no research about the properties he features and just makes things up as he goes along. Its all about the views for him...
Originally houses had wood cook stoves and the purpose of that high ceiling in the kitchen was for the summer months to let the heat rise above their heads while cooking
Urbex and Chill toured this house 3 years ago. It was still in a decent condition. Much of the features of the house have been stolen. The fireplace in Sheila’s dressing room was stolen and most of the figurines were stolen too.
This looks like the kind of house that grew organically throughout the years. The section with the much lower ceilings looks older than the first section.
Hello from U.S.! So glad you're in NY! I love the snow, too! This house is gorgeous! The woodwork is a masterpiece! What a shame it is going to ruin. Thank you for the lovely tour.
Great video guys! Sure would be interesting to know where the sibling is! Or any other family members. I often wonder if any relatives come across your videos.
Thank you for sharing your adventures with me and the rest of the world. It is a pleasure to know "Brothers of Decay" are dedicated to bringing the world "A step into the past". I love to see the respect, reverence and care you show towards other families possessions and the Legacies they have left behind. Again, I thank you for bringing your world to mine.
Another amazing discovery and I thank you so much for it. The house must have been beautiful in its day. The four-poster bed is my favorite and still beautifully made up ready and waiting to be slept in again waiting for the owner who never came back to it. Merry Christmas guys. USA.🙋♀️🎄
Just found your channel. I love the way you tell about the mansions. How you show the details of pictures and everything else you find. I'm hooked on your channel!
His information is usually wrong. We need to read the comments about his videos to get the factual information about the homes and families he features. The people who view his videos and leave comments do more research than he does...
Glad to see you back with a new video. You and Danny do a great job. You are lucky you were in New York last year . If you think that snow is bad- we just had 7 feet of snow in 24 hours.
My parents weren’t rich. My dad was a ranch foreman but my mom (a stay at home mom) loved music and paid for piano lessons for both me and my older sister. We had an old but well tuned upright piano in our home. It was given to us by the elementary school we attended when they bought a new one. I wish my mom had taken lesson herself. She’d have loved it & I’d have loved that for her.
Gracias, Bros. Saludos desde España.
What can I say Leslie.Love your documentary. You show so much respect to everyone and the the things left I love the way you love the homes you document.Keep on being you Your my favorite explorer.
I love how you Bros of Decay are so very respectful of every single house you enter and show 😊 I also love that you do not find it necessary to use profanity. Thank you so very very much. “Maybe” the first fireplace you showed wasn’t a fake fireplace but a gas fireplace? I don’t know 🤷🏽♀️
Hello Lesley ❤️ Incredible documentary with the canopy bed, steamer trunk. Team Lesley and Danny are the best 📸🎉 beautiful place inside and out 😍 Keep up the fabulous content 🙂
Steamer trunk in the attic. It would be like a portable closet for ocean travel. This looks like the exploration that ended with a tree across the road. Loved this video.
Hi lesley, another exciting video and amazing places. i've really like how you introduce the places and showing to use how lovely the houses that they abondoned but still it look so beautiful. I really loved the landscape and how😍 perfectly the old white mansion blends in! Beautiful rooms and impressive woodwork on the stairs; so many white items that show Sheila's love for elegance and coziness! I really feared those ceilings would collapse at any time, you guys should be more careful! Thank you,Lesley, for this great journey back in time!
It is amazing to see you in the states I don’t always watch you, but when I do your always so respectful. Thankfully you didn’t fall through anywhere, certainly was risky.
I think when you went through the double door that may have been the original house and the rest was added after some time . Way the ceiling was so low
Ok, this is now my new favorite abandoned place. I like where it is, I like how it looks, and I like the layout. If I could get there, I'd immediately start cleaning it!
Very beautiful video! I am surprised that so much furniture is still inside this abandoned house. After this video is release that furniture is likely to "disappear" into the hands of antique dealers.
Hey dear Lesley, what a wonderful explore video full of charme about that huge abandoned mansion with still some real timecapsule like rooms! Amazing to watch! I especially love the lovely positive energy you are spreading with your warmhearted personality. In this way you are providing all your Urbex videos with an unique touch. Also Danny did again an excellent job as your cameraman. - Very interesting background story and again so well told by you! Your Urbex videos belong to those with the highest possible quality regarding the commentary and filming! Respect, bro! I enjoyed every second of your video, and I am already looking very much forward to your next explore adventure. Stay safe, and take care! - Many hugs, peace and kindest regards from now rather cold Switzerland.
@@Imissneo , Hi Yvonne Miller, Thank you so very much for your kind feedback. I really appreciate a lot. Wishing you a wonderful Advent season and of course also a very merry Christmas! - Kindest regards.
Thank you for the beautiful video and all your work, Lesley (and Danny!) Just noticed on the business card that it said Sheila and Gladys Fortune .. Gladys is a woman's name (usually) so perhaps they were sisters or cousins in business? Anyway, it was wonderful! Love from Texas❤💖🐕🐾🤠
What a great video. So much beautiful and valuable furniture left. I see at least 30,000 dollars worth of furniture on the three floors being snowed and molded on. Such a shame. I love seeing these abandoned videos but I hate to see such beautiful interior woodwork just left to decay after so much skill, time, money and other valuable recourses went into its creation. Such a waste and destruction of lovely interiors and furniture that almost no one would have the skill or money to recreate.

Loved your comment Matt and I thank you for sharing it.
Merry Christmas from the UK.🎄
@@Imissneo Merry Christmas to the United Kingdom😎👍✌❤❤❤
It’s such a shame to see a house left to go to ruin. Thank you for sharing and I hope your stay in the USA is awesome!
There are so many hidden gems abandoned all over the world 🌎, thanks for sharing
Thank you guys for going the extra mile to find these homes in such extreme weather!
Gracias Lesley y Danny, encantadora casa con muebles antiguos y paredes y ventanas en madera hermosos diseños, que triste que está en plena decadencia de desaparecer, saludos a ti y Danny, que estén muy bien sanos y salvos.
You are SO respectful of the surroundings and items. Bless you for that. Such kind souls you are.
the views around the house are gorgeous with the snow/the wood work is gorgeous on the walls beautiful home beautiful things in the house
You are a one in a million! Your personality just lights up a room! I wish you all of the best! I love your channel!!
I can imagine what the home was like back in the day. Very beautiful!
Loved this home and your story. America has so many beautiful mansions..why the daughter disapeared... why it's left to rot. So sad. I will watch again just to go thru the house....glad you have visited to see the us...
In the attic, its called a portable dresser.. The wheels in it fit on it to make it easier to haul around
Go somewhere warmer. So sad how all these places have vintage furniture going to waste 😢.stairwell, fireplace, furnitures all going to waste.
Love all of your videos. Back during ww2 the army had chests like that. Beautiful home!! Thanks gyes!!
The white gloves were "cultural"... It was a very popular accessory in the 1950s to probably the late 1960s... But I can see why you would think it was worn to examine antiques as this is the common use of fabric gloves. I have several sets of gloves from when my mother was younger as well as the fancy hats.
They were called steamer trunks, and were used when they traveled by ship. I think the daughter and her family lived there for awhile after her death.
Always enjoy all your videos, it’s so sad when people leave all their belongings to rot when they worked so hard for so many years...
I love old homes. There is something charming about old homes that new modern homes lack severely today
Beautiful comment Honey and I thank you for sharing it.
Merry Christmas to you and yours. UK.🙋♀️🎄
I LOVE LOVE LOVE how those yellow curtains accent the green checkered wall paper!!!.
Man, the sink in that bathroom is so art deco! I'd love to have one just like it!!
Originally houses had wood cook stoves and the purpose of that high ceiling in the kitchen was for the summer months to let the heat rise above their heads while cooking
Thanks!
This is life, we die and our homes become ruined, it's very sad😥😭😓
Urbex and Chill toured this house 3 years ago. It was still in a decent condition. Much of the features of the house have been stolen. The fireplace in Sheila’s dressing room was stolen and most of the figurines were stolen too.
So very sad to hear that Princess it's so shameful they probably sold it all and banked the money. Merry Christmas from the UK.🙋♀️🎄
Is that a paved driveway? Imagine that cost. We so enjoy your documentaries guys! Thank You!
No, it's a public road that is shared with another house.
I love how you tell a story with music at the same time as the explore it's just great
This looks like the kind of house that grew organically throughout the years.
I've wondered that too. If so wonder what they would do.
Thank you for sharing your adventures with me and the rest of the world. It is a pleasure to know "Brothers of Decay" are dedicated to bringing the world "A step into the
past". I love to see the respect, reverence and care you show towards other families possessions and the Legacies they have left behind. Again, I thank you for bringing your world to mine.
Another amazing discovery and I thank you so much for it.
The house must have been beautiful in its day. The four-poster bed is my favorite and still beautifully made up
ready and waiting to be slept in again waiting for the owner who never came back to it. Merry Christmas guys. USA.🙋♀️🎄
I Love How You Both Respect The Items Inside These Homes. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. THANK YOU❤😊❤😊
🥶you guys look so cold ⛄️you’ll have to go back to some warmer countries 😊 love your videos !!!!
No quisiera nunca, vivir en lugares donde cae nieve, mi yerno es de Ohio, y el me cuenta, lo aburridor de quitar nieve, todos los días

You just could just drive up there couldn't you hahaha nice video BTW thanks for uploading 🤩 nice beard!
Moc děkuji. Bylo to krásné a děkuji že je to s českým překladem.Marcela
Thank you for showing us a beautiful house , so sad to see it all going away as nature takes over .
I love how you Bros of Decay are so very respectful of every single house you enter and show 😊 I also love that you do not find it necessary to use profanity. Thank you so very very much.
“Maybe” the first fireplace you showed wasn’t a fake fireplace but a gas fireplace? I don’t know 🤷🏽♀️
Hi guys I’m here and ready to enjoy our exspirence ! You guys are great , your appreciated !❤️🙏🇨🇦
Nice house. Many treasures left behind even after being ransacked and vandalized many times.Thank you for showing it.
Hello Lesley ❤️
Incredible documentary with the canopy bed, steamer trunk. Team Lesley and Danny are the best 📸🎉 beautiful place inside and out 😍 Keep up the fabulous content 🙂
Thank you Leslie and Danny! Beautiful home with bay windows.
Steamer trunk in the attic. It would be like a portable closet for ocean travel. This looks like the exploration that ended with a tree across the road. Loved this video.
Thank you it was a real pleasure to watch this video!
Hi lesley, another exciting video and amazing places. i've really like how you introduce the places and showing to use how lovely the houses that they abondoned but still it look so beautiful. For me is like we also with you while you exploring the diff. places around the world thank you so much for sharing with us. Take care godbless.. From Philippines🧡🧡🧡
Another beautiful home Leslie. Thank u guys for the video. I loved the wood work and curtains of the house. Well done guys. Best of luck
I love the sensation of exploring with you guys! The story and details shared are great! Thanks for that
At 10:33 it's an italian coffee maker, it makes moccha coffee.
Great Adventure! Amazing so much just left behind! Good Job!
Привет из России! Москвы! Я очень люблю с вами путишствовать в прошлое по всему миру. Вы классные ребята! Удачи вам во всем! С уважением к вам, спасибо.
Learning together is absolutely amazing for me.
Thank you for your beautiful and informative channel, Leslie.
I love the way you document these places. ☺️💖🙏
It is amazing to see you in the states
I don’t always watch you, but when I do your always so respectful.
Thankfully you didn’t fall through anywhere, certainly was risky.
I think when you went through the double door that may have been the original house and the rest was added after some time . Way the ceiling was so low
Also that bathroom with the raised foot was probably done after the house was built. Probably the floor was raised to install the necessary plumbing.
Ok, this is now my new favorite abandoned place. I like where it is, I like how it looks, and I like the layout. If I could get there, I'd immediately start cleaning it!
So beautiful ❤️ An amazing place ❤️ Many blessings on your travels ❤️
Thanks for sharing the explore of the house. I love all of the wood work and antiques. Take care 🙂 💕 💜 ❤
Very beautiful video! I am surprised that so much furniture is still inside this abandoned house. After this video is release that furniture is likely to "disappear" into the hands of antique dealers.
Absolutely love that four-poster bed or “canopy bed” they are gorgeous!
Love the wood work on the walls
Lesley you are correct....I looked it up..Belgium and The Netherlands are two of the countries of the tallest people in the world.
Hey dear Lesley, what a wonderful explore video full of charme about that huge abandoned mansion with still some real timecapsule
like rooms! Amazing to watch! I especially love the lovely positive energy you are spreading with your warmhearted personality. In this way
you are providing all your Urbex videos with an unique touch.
A beautiful comment Willy. I enjoyed reading it.

@@Imissneo , Hi Yvonne Miller, Thank you so very much for your kind feedback. I really appreciate a lot.
Wishing you a wonderful Advent season and of course also a very merry Christmas! - Kindest regards.
Love watching your adventures. You are a very good narrator!
Exactly my thoughts. Thanks 🙏 Gladys is a woman’ name .
I loved this Lesley and Danny!
I could live here . What a beautiful house .
Loved this video. Great job!.
