The best thing about the one-finger run is that cj could’ve easily remapped the ABXY buttons to the D-pad in the Switch settings so he didn’t have to move his hand so much, but he chose to struggle doing it the normal way. That’s committment

If I did that I’d remap all the buttons I could to make it easier. Maybe map crouch to snapshot button
Or just switch the LS to the right and the right to the left
Or just use one Joy-Con.

Literally Any%. Do as much as you want. Run ends when you feel like it.
I love the idea, but the problem is that we're talking about speedrunners here, so "when you feel like it" is, kinda by definition, as soon as the run starts.
Though I fully expect that we'd get meme entries to that category, like a run that is 4 hours 20 minutes and 6.9 seconds long.
Fir did that once, I believe he stopped the time at waking up at the start of the game lol

@@jarontrox2614 Yeah, I guess the nice thing about talkatoo% is that it's always completable. But I like that this category has that spice, that finishing a run might be impossible. Granted, I'm not the one doing the run, but as a viewer it's fun and fascinating. So maybe it's better for content than an actual category.

Coin flip% was literally the magic shell Spongebob episode, with cj being Squidward.
Talking about that episode, Ramsay%, Mario must touch every typically edible thing in the game (actual food, fish, birds, veggies, etc)

Wow honestly I think cjya draws the characters better than I can. I was especially impressed with Topper and the Uproot.
Hey cjya you should do maximum captures: you have to capture every creature including multiples, say if there are 2 spark pylons you have to capture the 2 spark pylons. Now however say if it’s a bullet bill and more constantly spawn it does not count. Capture one from each cannon and be on your way. Thanks for reading this.
He could've rebound jump to if he clicked in the stick, in the settings to make jumping and moving at the same time easier. Like Balan Wonderworld.
I kinda want to see more of that one finger run. Maybe it could be a once a week thing where you progress it like an hour or two then carrying on with whatever was planned or intended to be done that day.

Out of 20 moons in lost kingdom, he only got 7. That calutas to 7.4%, which isn't likely. But the chance to get at out of Lost Kingdom was 58.8%, which is a little more than a coinflip, so I guess the odds was only slightly favored anyway
also to get less than 8 the probability is 13.16% so he was pretty unlucky
Honestly really enjoyed coinflip% I would definitely watch more attempts.
Coinflip% is actually super fun, it reminds me of the rock paper scissors% that was on I think Fir's channel? I love the chance aspect haha, but I think Coinflip% is actually more fun honestly

Based on the perspective it is entirely possible for each "missing" leg that a leg in front is obscuring it (especially for the T. rex)
It just seems to me like the drawing is misleading by not manipulating the position to include all of the legs in these drawings. I understand this is a "speedrun" and he was trying to do these quickly, but my things is, why not finish fleshing out the drawings if it's not a full run anyway...

The coin toss speedrun is a fun enough idea that I'd love to see cj return back to it, and try completing the game with those rules again.

Howfar% you have to get as far as possible into the game, but when your timer reaches the World Record any% time, the run ends.
So PBs but without the practice that will get you past the point you got to last time 😂

Small Pockets%. You can only carry 3 moons at a time (multi moons count as 3). Run ends when you beat Bowser in Moon Kingdom
My definition of Mario's enemy : Being actively trying to damage him or preventing him (physically) from picking a moon/accessing a place where a moon can be picked.

Mario but you have to mimic every sound he makes. You can veto a sound to not have to mimic, but you can only miss like 10 sounds before you lose
Apocalypse%: every NPC and boss/character is gone. Even enemies. If a story moon is given to you by a person, the moon is just there. No music either. Only essential captures exist
Math% The number on the moon list of the moons you get have to add up to 38 every kingdom (you can get extra moons)
Cyja plays better with one finger than i do with two hands...
BroodCrayon% Every time you capture anything (not **just** unique captures) or defeat a boss , you draw madame brood.
I want a full Coin% run, unironically.
2D%, find every 2D character throughout mario odyssey(You can do it in either a finish file or new file)

Once you get past Cascade Kingdom (or maybe when you start the game) EVERYTHING costs coins to do.
Walk for a second? 1 coin/second. Want to do movement tech? 5 coins per. Capture an enemy? Another 5 coins each. Grab a moon? Those cost 50 coins now.
That or just make moons cost 300 coins and see if THAT’s even possible.

I think that the best finger for the one finger speed run would be the left thumb, because you could use the base to manoeuvre the thumb stick and the tip to mod accurately press buttons.
You could do the same with the right thumb but then you would have to have the controller upside down

ANOTHER coin flip percent but u have to flip the coin for captures subareas and if u can do certain clips like going troo a wall and if u get the coin flip for a sub area u can grab both the moons and alsoflip a coin for a boss but for bosses u get 2 trys

The Rabbit is more of a "rival" than an enemy.
Those are lovely speedrun ideas, you should speedrun them against another yt
One Finger Challenge = how it would play if you were on a phone.
And some people like to pretend phones are proper gaming platforms.
One good one i think should be added to the leaderboards is assist%.. it is where you have to follow assist mode

The one finger challenge reminds me of a challenge I saw for a completely different game, where I could only press one button every second. Yeah, it was impossible.
for the 1 finger run i would have taped my hand into position & cuffed my other hand to the table, to _really_ make sure
Funny side idea: thumb%, it's a sidequest to finger% where you get to only use your 2 thumbs

Idea for a mod: so basically it's a horror game now. Enemies look scary, getting hit or bonking has a chance to jumpscare you, and each world has a unique gimmick (one where there's an invincible monster that constantly chases you, one where bombs might start raining from the sky, one where it's dark and you have a flashlight or you have to use lightning strikes to see, one where stuff seems to happen but nothing horrible actually happens, its just creepy, other stuff like that). The goal to move on is different for each kingdom, but it's all horror themed or at least just Halloween themed (like one where you have to buy the skeleton costume, uhh... I don't have any other ideas).
Maybe just make each world based off of a famous horror game or something

I have a great speed run idea. 100% min odyssey. You speed run getting all moons, except you have to travel using paintings (where possible)
I was hoping he would do trace walking for the first challenge and I popped off when he did

I would like to see why cascade and cap are impossible on spy %. I guess in cascade you can't sneak up on a chain chomp maybe? or at least can't get out of it?
not sure about cap. maybe a flying goomba you have to capture?
Don't forget boss fights count as enemies
Cap has tons of mini-goombas in and around the tower and I don't think there's any way to avoid getting near them

you can kill the mini gooms outside the tower before they can see you, but in the frog I’m fairly sure it’s impossible
I actually gave spy% because I was able to actually do cap and cascade but not wooded because of tanks.
