Just realized that the King's face is pretty weird looking and upon googling it, I'm kinda surprised to learn he's really, REALLY hollow. Interesting to think that he's still got so much power despite that.
i'm kinda thinking he hollowed sorta like the player does - he's lost his humanity, and probably most of his sanity, but hasn't gone far enough down to become a shell of a human like most standard hollow soldier enemies. he's still there, but just barely
The interesting thing is that hollowing is a consequence of dying repeatidly due to the curse brought by the Darksign. When you meet Gwyn in DS1, he looks simillarly dead-looking. It makes me wonder if hollowing goes beyond that and can affect other beings beyond just humans? I always assumed Gwyn looked like that because he burned himself away for ages, but maybe he did go hollow? Regarding NK, it is stated he sacrificed everything to join the dragons, so interpret that how you will.
I am kinda confused between humanity and hollowing. For me, humans are the descendants of the Furtive Pygmy who had and shared the Dark Soul, and only these humans who possess Humanity (fragments of the Dark Soul) do hollow because of the undead curse and stuff. So seeing the Nameless King, who is not a descendent from the Furtive Pygmy, hollowed confuses me a lot. Regarding weapon damage types, I think there have been times where the gameplay does not fit the lore in some edge cases (I don't recall the exact examples), so I wouldn't strictly consider the gameplay to be a flawless reflection of the lore.
@@bigbang2a this all assumes that people like Gwyn, NK, Witch of Izalith, or Pontiff weren't also human at some point. A more open reading of DS1 in particular could see the "Gods" as humans who amassed souls and power to the point they became something "beyond human". Then you also have demons and other characters like dragons who were supposedly once human, but transformed through one process or another. The point with this is to say, if one can bear souls and harness their power, then it is also likely that they can go hollow. In addition to this, since humanity is now linked to the fire, and the process of the fire fading goes on eternally, humanity is cursed to hollow alongside it eternally. If you are more interested, I would look into explanations of the DS3 endings, as they seem to have the most to say about hollows and the cycle of fire/dark
Bro, how many weapons you put on. Those are probably my favourite things about these videos, the way you utilize diffrent weapons and weapon arts in beautiful cinematic gameplay
Doing an SL1 run of ds3 Only nameless, midir and soul of cinder remain You probably just gave me the best technique to dodge the delayed thrust. Hopefully I will get him in the next few hours
Just did my 1st SL1 run this week with DS3. Was fun. If any advice helps, use Tears of Denial against Midir because unless embered he always one-shots you (from my experience).
Pretty much the entire fight goes: Nameless king: What kind of sorcery do you possess to wield an entire arsenal of weapons? Ongbal: Light equip load go brrrr
My favorite part of this fight has to be how he used the Onikiri and Ubadachi to hit the dragon in the head when it flies over you. I have fought the Nameless King countless times and never once thought to do that. The way ONGBAL thinks outside the box is incredible.
Flawless as always. The first part without the Hudson would be the trickiest for me, but even making that far is an amazing feat on its own, LET ALONE smashing the Namless King! Always love your vids, keep up the great work, you always inspire me to be better! Long Live the GOAT!
it's a mystery which game ongbal is gonna show in the next video... but just trust they are always awesome.. nameless king, one of my favourite bosses in ds3 😊
great figth and really good combos with the weapons. afther i buy elden ring like almos 2 months afhter it lounch i never got back to dark souls until a week a go when i decide to do a bleed build for the frist time in DS3 and dam when i go to the nameless king it destroy him sorry for my bad english
I think his character already had a similar appearance in his older videos a couple of years ago, before Elden Ring came out. Which is a funny coincidence, because he actually looks like Radagon
At this point i think finding a girlfriend would be easier than finding a mistake in Ongbal's videos. His everlasting flawlessness shall outlast my perpertual bitchlessness.
Yo Ongbal, can you try Endure focused combat sometime? It gives really good defense and allows for guard counters and held down heavies for staggers Really interesting freedom of combat you get to unlock now, including hyper armour to switch to another weapon Also, check-out my Make-belief sekiro deflection i created in elden ring - UNMODDED 😊👌 YOU were one of the main people in mind when coming up with it 😂🤙
Crazy how easy DS1-3 became after 500 hours in elden ring for me and probably many others. I definitely felt like a master in those games, but going back after elden ring those games just seem like they never should have been hard to begin with.
Elden Ring bosses are more complex with more attacks that require positioning. Going back to DS3 and fighting Twin Princes, Gael, Dragonslayer Armor, etc. and it really hit me how simplistic they were (with a few exceptions of course).
@@Arfadoz The main thing that makes Elden Ring bosses harder is not really the complexity but mainly the RNG, most bosses can randomly decide if they are done with the combo or wanna add some more, in DS3 there is pretty much only Gael who does that, precisely why he can be so hard Also thaught Nameless was like that but looking at this vid his extra thrust attack that he sometimes do must be like a "position ai" thing I guess, a bit like Godfrey and backrolls vs right rolls that messes up his ai depending on where you are at the end of his combo
@@felixcote1697 There's no RNG with Elden Ring bosses. They attack based on your position, if you get behind them or away from them, the combos usually end, at difference of past bosses (like Midir, who spends 50% of the fight attacking the air while you are on the other side of the arena).
Maybe it's just me but ER seem to be harder because some attacks of the bosses just give you 2 frames to react while in DS3, you can react to the visual cue instead of remember the timing to dodge that attack that took 2 centuries to come up and 0.01 second to come down
Whenever I watch you fighting Nameless King I'm always surprised by how you can bait the delayed trust attack 100% of the time. I've fought him so many times and I still don't get the positioning. Is it just rng?
All thrust attacks can be strafed in Ds3, as well as most swipes and overhead slams. You can also reliably duck under or jump over most stabs/swipes with weapon arts, which allows for new openings with different weapons. For example, Dragonslayer Armour's two hit combo can be dodged reliably with WKGS's L2-R2 (you will duck under the first swing, leap over the second, and counter attack instantly with the landing blow).

Casually soft swapping 6 weapons. incredible
"HOW MANY OF THESE DOES HE HAVE????" -Nameless king probably
I kept thinking "surely he doesn't have any more weapons" lmao bravo
The humility to not mention you're also using multiple weapon arts, doing a no-hit run, AND a speedrun in the video title is just something else
Almost all of Ongbal videos are no-hits, so I guess thats why he doesnt put it in the title.
you make it look so easy i remember i was so stuck with this boss. I had to learn every single move until almost perfection
Now I'm ready to go face Nameless King because of you. Thank you King👑🗿

Did you beat Friede?
Crazy how I was also fighting this boss today, not doing nearly as good as ongbal of course but awesome to see some ds3 content while I’m playing ❤️
one of my favorite parts of this fight is when NK's swings sync up with the music (briefly, at 4:18)
I think you don't use enough weapons :)
Those moves look so beautiful, Fromsoft truly blesses us with timeless classics.

Wow ONGBAL❤ Legendary gameplay, the man who made me love souls games
Always remember
If a Boss folded you in ten
Ongbal will avenge you hundredfold more
Watching Ongbal go back and play the older titles makes me want to do the same thing
THE KING HAS A NEW NAME AND IT IS ONGBAL THE FEARLESS
Your character looks genuinely HEROIC.
This boss took me an eternity to beat back in the day
Great video!
Watching the flamberge with stance makes me want square off on greatswords for Elden Ring. Come on Miyazaki!
you should make the music louder imo, would make these videos even more awesome than they already are
it's a mystery which game ongbal is gonna show in the next video... but just trust they are always awesome..
nameless king, one of my favourite bosses in ds3 😊
Great as usual, but am i the only one who WANTS to see the hud?

My man treated the king of the storm like an elden ring boss
man DS3 weapon arts are so cool
Is THAT A RADAGON REFERENCE?!?!?!
The only thing I love better than Ongbal fighting bosses is Ongbal fighting bosses with the HUD on. I like to see their health bars deteriorating.
What is your favorite weapon?
Maliketh, is that you? And what are you doing with the serpent-hunter? 😳
Flamberge makes a appearance! L2 R2 is so good
My favorite fight in DS3
Can you do rekindled abyss watcher from the convergence mod?
The pure disrespect to rely on Slash and Fire at the end.

Nameless King vs King ONGBAL!
Truly nameless behaviour on display here.
Radagon cosplay looks Sick

My fave boss
What the hell, radagon you supposed to be in the tree
I’m gonna make a edit using your clip
My bro can beat all soulsbourne without getting hit

How much damn health did Nameless King have here lol
Bro pulled whole arsenal on him 💀
Carrying as many weapons as Isshin

I was wondering what settings you use when processing your video! Like, encoding and stuff like that

You should do challenge runs. Youve obviously mastered these games lol
Any chances to see you more on dual katanas.? :>
i beat him 3rd try and i'm not even capping

The resolution is beautiful. Is that on PC Max or on PS5 ?
Radagon vs Nameless King
Can you try convergence mod bosses?
this man deadass doesn’t play the game the game is him
The Nameless King feels so slow now and comboes feel fair. After all the bs Elden Ring threw at me.
He’s… he carries like 6 weapons at once
Nameless king is really ez if you keep distance and use magic i had him on my 2nd try
