Thanks for posting the video. This is exactly what I was looking for, I can't find videos on the suburbans that share parts with 73-87 trucks but this is a great reference.

I have a 1975 k10 and am changing the rotors the spindle nuts are on tight and everything ive tried i cant get them off and they have been soaking in penetrating oil. Could i maybe use an impact? I have a 75 GMC 3/4 ton. The axle shaft won't slide out of the knuckle. I have taken off both of the nuts holding the ball joints but the shaft is too big to fit in the hole. Do you have to take the knuckle completely off on a 3/4 ton?
Are you saying that you are unable to pull the shaft out of the axle because it wont fit through the knuckle? Is there movement in the axle when you pull on it? Like can you see that its to big for the hole? Thanks Greg!
Looking at this diagram are you able to confirm that you pulled 52-48? A lot of times one of those is still on and holds it in place. www.dennysdriveshaft.com/c718_dana_44_front_chevy.html
@@MechanicLife i got it. It turned out to be the inner bearing keeping it from coming out. I put a spindle nut about half way and tugged on the rotor a bit to pop it out. Your video helped me a ton. For this is my first time. Thanks for breaking my 🍒 lol

There is a snap ring that holds them in place. Then you should be good. This should help you too. www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/transmission-drivetrain/154-1109-easy-axleshaft-u-joint-replacement/
Yup, Those are the stock rally rims. I have a video on how to refurbish them too. They are the originals that came with the truck. I have seen them at scrap yards from time to time though, craigslist, FB marketplace too.

Thanks for the video. Super clear and informative. The pictures at the end are helpful too

The spindle nut socket is a 4-lug 36 mm

Awesome!
I've been looking everywhere for a video to replace my 90 Suburban 4x4's front wheel bearings. This is a huge help, thank you!

I know it is kinda off topic but do anyone know a good website to watch newly released series online ?
You’ve helped me out big time. Thanks for posting
Question: There were not any C clips in the diff that had to be removed to slide the axles out? Thanks for the video

It should be a 4 lug 36 mm

What is the correct orientation of the dust cover on reinstallation ?
Could I get a parts list I have to replace the u joint on that shaft and should just go through it.
What front axel does it have? Looks almost the same as my front axel on my k20 other than it being a 8 lug

I didn't on this rig.
