Agreed, Shepard was a war hero and well known when we meet them (at least that's the background I gave), and by the middle of ME3 was like a demigod. Ryder on the other hand is just starting on their journey and learning to be a hero as they go. I look forward to what the future holds.

This is the internet, there's a lot of people who just jumped on the bandwagon because it's fashionable to hate Bioware/EA --- I mean I saw people make youtube vids bashing the game when it was obvious they had't even gotten off the 2nd planet. Yeah, the game had some issues at launch, but it's being tweaked and most of those issues are being minimized .... but the writing, combat and graphics are pretty damn good (yes, there's some occasional cringy dialogue, but not THAT much ... and the voice acting could at times be better).
honestly the most enjoyable thing about this game was when you were in the mako and had Jaal and Peebee as squadmates because their convorsations were so fucking hilarious which is a given since they had some good voice actors.

This is honestly my 2nd favorite ME. Between the crew being much more developed then the ME1 crew. Gameplay being much better. Writing is incredible for the amount in this game. I love it
Andromeda is a good game - it's just not a great "Mass Effect", dampened due to being rushed out and leaving lots of obvious cut-corners. Only blatant red-flag is the human faces/animations and a story that can't rival what three previous games built. I waded into it with no trilogy expectations and enjoyed it, even back before the patches that fixed the most comical animations. Look at ME1 - that was no picnic either, but it didn't have the weight of three games hanging over it which fuelled a waiting expectation. Playing it a year later and enjoying it just as much this time around. So easy to burn hundreds of hours in MEA, but most won't give it that chance because [insert complaint here].
I'm not saying its a perfect game, but its a lot more fun for something with a dark plotline. I actually like how they kinda act like actual people, helps me relate to them. Especially Ryder. I feel like they got my personality to a T

It's not a bad game. I enjoyed playing it. But it doesn't compare to the trilogy. The trilogy is so good that i've played through it multiple times. This game was alright, but i will probably only play it once. Driving around in that car for the majority of the game tends to get boring. The side missions were not very interesting either. There are some goods and bads with this game. It's not perfect, but not horrible. It's a 1 time playthrough though :)

Besides, wasn’t he the person who brought up the idea of movie night? Now that I actually watched that, I only know that one scene from the Movie Night cutscene was in these funny moments videos. Really? Just one?
Oh my GOD the dialogue in this game is just too good. It doesn't get the respect it deserves. Edit: And not just the dialogue, but the voice actors delivering it. The Ryders and Peebee have SUCH good delivery.

One of the good things that came out of ME:A, Ryder is more expressive than Shepard and his younger personality makes him more relatable and a normal person.
On Liam's loyalty mission, if you choose the other option, you get mad at liam and shoot the comms and say something along the lines of, "We have a bad plan to save people damn it, and we're going to go with it!".
It might be the way that they're trimmed/edited, but the comedic timing of all these clips is brilliant. Out of context like this, they made me fucking cackle
they still work in game. alot of those will catch you off guard. you can also see how they interact with each other. jaal basically hits on every female party member, liam is more confrontational, cora has a playfull banter with drack, very soldier like, while she dont like peebee. peebee and liam really dont like each other, while she warms up the fastest with vetra. and they kinda develop a sibling relationship. they really went much further than people think.
Liam's Loyalty Mission is hands down the best out of all of the Loyalty Missions, except Drack's(his kool-aid man crash through the wall was just amazing), especially the Star Wars reference they threw in.

On Liam's loyalty mission, if you choose the other option, you get mad at liam and shoot the comms and say something along the lines of, "We have a bad plan to save people damn it, and we're going to go with it!".

It might be the way that they're trimmed/edited, but the comedic timing of all these clips is brilliant. Out of context like this, they made me fucking cackle
they still work in game. alot of those will catch you off guard. you can also see how they interact with each other. jaal basically hits on every female party member, liam is more confrontational, cora has a playfull banter with drack, very soldier like, while she dont like peebee.
peebee and liam really dont like each other, while she warms up the fastest with vetra. and they kinda develop a sibling relationship.
they really went much further than people think.
Liam's Loyalty Mission is hands down the best out of all of the Loyalty Missions, except Drack's(his kool-aid man crash through the wall was just amazing), especially the Star Wars reference they threw in.

Callum Leitch I never understood how people hated the game due to the animations sure some of it was broken but it was nothing compared to a bethesda rpg where modders have to fix most of the game

I was fortunate enough to be able to make a pretty handsome Ryder with the big afro. It's not impossible, but I definitely wish there were more options.
