I know they battered the heck outta him in kills and he got up.and in this he was like a battered old man,but he transferred some evil to Corey,it's like the direct ors cant work out weather he's a normal guy in a mask killing people or supernatural serial killer.i know a lot of fans didn't like Halloween kills but it was so much better than ends,I loved seeing all those different killings in kills.i love Halloween and it's horrible to think they made such a shite ending

This was more of a horror-drama than a slasher. It needed more Laurie Vs Michael, which was the best part of Ends.
I think I took at least 40 minutes for Michael to appear on screen😭. I'm so glad I didn't pay for this.
Dude that intro of Laurie talking about finally buying a house and being normal again had me crying, I was expecting so much more out of this movie :(

I'm pretty sure that homeless guy is played by Nick Castle. The guy who played the original Michael Myers (1978.) That's why he says something along the lines of "I'm Michael Myers" when he's fighting with Corey outside the sewers.
If true this was one of the only things good about the movie :(

Just saw it on Peacock. I expected way more from the movie. I wish they had done something different instead of the whole Corey plot line. The granddaughter was so frustrating

They focused wayyyyyyy too much on the Corey guy and his plot. I just wanted Michael and Laurie, not all the extra stuff. I was disappointed:(
I think they are going to create a spin of franchise with Corey. They shoehorned him into the story for this purpose.
What pissed me off most is wasting the whole movie on Corey just for him to kill himself

@Gaswup sigh, it was so promising in the beginning but the writing to me felt forced and kinda rush so therefore I didn’t feel rewarded with the end results…still better than Halloween kills tho… without spoiling anything, I rather them had made this like a spin-off film and saved the ending for a movie that was more about micheal myers and Laurie strode but that’s just me lol
@Gaswup right, I get that he’s older now so thats probably why he’s weaker but if that is the case why kill the new copycat killer? That would’ve been promising to bring in a new killer and have him chasing the granddaughter or could’ve created another franchise with that but maybe that would’ve been to predictable…it was just pointless at the end

Some thoughts I had during this movie (some are repeating points you already talked about)
1. How does a little kid, when hit by a door, fly up and over a bannister?
2. Why does a DJ keep scissors next to his turntables?
3. Laurie's daughter + creepy guy's romance is hilarious in its speed of development and intensity. I think he straight up tells her that he killed a guy and she just doesn't care?
4. Michael Myers went from Terminator-level strength/invulnerability to a guy who can be beat up by basically anyone.
5. Why would you end a trilogy / 10+ movie series by replacing the villain?
6. Laurie romance with "cherry blossoms" guy -- why was this in the movie?
7. Who knew marching band kids were such maniacs...
8. Apparently when this mechanic gets off work, he chooses to drink Yoo-Hoo chocolate milk ... I guess they had to do this so that he'd have a glass bottle that would break in his hand? Why not just make it a beer bottle or something...
I did enjoy this more than Hellraiser because it hit that sweet spot of being so ridiculous that it was fun to watch.

So here's the setup........I was super super hungover this past Sunday and watched this and Black phone and the Beast on like a triple matinee cuz I was near death too much to move LOL 🤣 how was the Beast, ( cujo in Africa) the best of the three....... Two words, Idris Elba. My question was, Darcy the mail girl from Joe Bob Briggs Drive in was the receptionist at the radio station or did I imagine that? Excellent review as always Nick and Joe ❤️❤️

@Nolans Tube 100% agree. The 78 flashbacks, the kills, the soundtrack and probably the most badass version of Michael ever. Ends just sucked in almost everything.

God this dawsons creek episode was a DISASTER.
I think the cherry blossoms thing was a reference to him wanting to travel to Japan maybe? I'll have to watch it again. Anyway, it goes back to their conversation in the grocery store when he was talking about how he feels he got a second lease on life & all the new things he's trying

Ok, I absolutely loved this movie! I saw all the negative reviews so I didnt expect much, but I was captivated by the story the whole time. The 2 hours flew by for me. A big swing and I think they knocked it out of the park. Ive seen 12 Halloween movies where Micheal stalks/kills so it was refreshing to see a new take on it. GREAT MOVIE.
The story was interesting. It wasn't the direction I had expected they'd take at all but it was entertaining for sure
Yeah I like that they kinda went back to Carpenter's idea that Michael is just a shape of evil. And I like that Laurie brought that full circle with the line Evil never dies it's just changes shape. So all in all I liked it very much.

I love your reviews! For me, having Kyle Richards in it is cool because she was in the original one so I like those cameos. Just like having John Carpenter in that bit part. So even if their characters weren’t needed per se, it’s just fun to have that connection to the original.
Michael Myers will return in Halloctopussy! Anyway, very mixed on this movie, it was messy, but it took a few risks, didn't really pay off. I'm just glad it didn't go the way of My bloody valentine 3d, although a lot of scenes seemed like dream sequences or hallucinations to me, like the scene with Laurie leaning back in the chair taunting Kory, or the scene where the dead kids mother confronts Kory ( was she wearing the same costume under that coat?). Just an odd movie. Love your review, as always .

I like the idea here for a new michael under a community created villain like corey, But I feel for a halloween finale it misses the point of the giant Michael V Laurie Buildup. this whole film just felt very very lackluster. still had a fun time watching it but dang. Not the way it should have ended i believe
This movie sucked. Prob the worst in the series and almost everything that happened after the beginning made no sense.
Haven’t watched any Halloween movies past the first (and liked the original Black Christmas much more than that one) but I’m glad I can come here and not be so far out of the loop that I can’t even spot it in the distance
Saw it on Peacock because I'm on a budget. The movie was pretty good. I enjoyed it. Kyle wasn't needed but it was good to see her. Jaime's character was hot in the pants when did the granddaughter get gangster? 😆😆😆

Almost reminded me of Rob Zombie Halloween 2. This could’ve been better if they would’ve combined kills and ends. I feel like they did it backwards and kinda blew it when they killed Corey. Imagine the end of Kills with mike getting his ass beat that should’ve been Corey😭 Overall it’s a good movie just not what was expected.

Im really not sure what people expected. This Franchise has ran its course. They had to do something different. Just details and the affair was poorly executed. Anything else is a just a retread of every other sequel. The original movie was never meant to be more than just 1 movie.
The last two movies were pure money grabs by the studio. The franchise should have ended with the first one with Michael Myers burning in the house.
I truly believe they wrote the ending first and went backwards padding in the film for time. It was just different.
I feel like they should've started the Corey stuff in HK and then let it flow over into this one. Would've allowed a bit more balance of kills and storyline between the 2 movies. Plus would've liked more double team kill scenes, that was the best part of this movie. I dont like that it spends all it's time on Corey just to kill him off so soon, just feels way too rushed. (Though I do like the idea and the actor's performance)
I saw this last night completely thinking I would hate it but I actually like this one better than the 2018 and Halloween Kills movie. I rewatched Halloween H20 after for nostalgia and to compare the true ending of the franchise, and actually came to the conclusion H20 is probably the best sequel of the series!

Corry seems to be the only killer in this franchise that kills out of revenge (except for the heavyset girl part of the band brats who actually stood up for him a bit) where as Michael Myers perhaps kills people that symbolically remind him of someone who hurt him. Although my theory I expressed here before about Michael Myers being an advanced droid that ages built by the Silver Shamrock CEO Mad scientist of H3 Season of the Witch - at least seemingly - did not happen certain elements seem to me to suggest a spin-off series (SEASON OF THE WITCH or called "SAMHAIN" so it would not *technically* be a Halloween sequel installment) in which the reason some people survived things they should not have could be for a reason similar to why "Mister Glass" caused a series of terror plots (trying to be careful with the algorithm lol) in order to flesh out super heroes. But perhaps these super beings can play a diabolical role of masked killers going forward. Did they perhaps as they laid there dying get approached by the SILVER SHAMROCK CEO in a pact with the Devil sort of scenario in which to live and serve a purpose etc???

They set it up as a pass-the-torch type of film, but then just abandoned that idea in the 3rd act, and finally they spent the last 15 minutes showing us the movie we paid for.

03:45 - "They strap Michael Myers dead body onto the roof of a Ford Focus." Again, Joseph's delivery made me laugh out loud. Why say it like that though? The Ford Focus was such a horrible decision for an impromptu cadaver transporter. A better choice would have been an emerald blue 2022 Ford Explorer XLT with ceiling bars for taut roping. That's how you haul away a body in style. (By the way, Joseph, you seem less belabored with suppressed fussiness and appear more engaged. I attribute it to the wine :))

It was something I didn't expect. I was pleasantly surprised and it worked. I know some people are complaining but if they think about it logically Michael's age things like that ...that storyline worked...Also did you notice the last scene she kept his mask?

the movie had extremely weird shots as well, like i felt that the last half was way better than the first half of the movie, but there were just really bizarre shots and camera work and editing…they were over the top with their foreshadowing shots as well. like you do not have to beat us over the head with that shit!

I keep reading/ seeing reviews where it's thought that MM is transferring energy/ power to Corey. Based on his dialogue with Allison, to me, it seems that MM and Laurie both recognized that Corey had that same energy already in him. There's another line later where Laurie is talking to Corey saying there's two kinds of evil. It was some bs speech like most of Kills but they could've said those who are born evil like MM and those who become evil, take on that shape. They had four writers and dropped the ball.
They should make it where Laurie is actually Michael.

2.1/10, this movie was a lazy heap of fecal matter. They sold us an epic showdown and delivered a pathetic attempt at their own Halloween 3. But here's the thing, HALLOWEEN 3 WAS ACTUALLY A GOOD STAND ALONE FILM!
The sheriff told her in the grocery store that he was learning Japanese and that he was planning a trip to Japan to see the cherry blossoms and implies that she should go with him. At that point she is still not completely moved on and ready to live her life and still feels anchored to the town and the legacy she shares with Michael Meyers. By the end of the film, she has finally killed all of her demons and her granddaughter is safe and has moved on from Haddonfield so she is finally ready to try and move on and find some happiness of her own so as the sheriff begins to leave after dropping off his gift she asks him about those cherry blossoms again letting him know she is ready to go with him.
Seems to be a growing trend amongst writers today - theyre shipping the bad guy and female protagonist; Kylo and Rey, Galadriel and Sauron (Rings of power), Myers and Strode. Whats with the sexual fixiation? Thanks for a good review guys, subbed!

If you put all the Michael Myers scenes from Halloween Kills in the 2018 Halloween movie, then added the final fight from Ends. Then I think it would have been pretty good for a single movie. For some reason they stretched out 1 movie into 3 and made the worst dialogue and plot possible. Can someone please edit this together so its one decent movie lol
"The more he kills, the more he transcends" after mincing 20 ppl in the last scene on Halloween Kills, you would expect a JACKED MM in this one. Yet, they give us a weak and shriveled MM in this one acting as a sidekick to his own movie 😆
Absolutely horseshit of a movie.
I've been following this franchise for 40 years and I was Absolutely AMPED when the Trilogy was being redone with Jamie Lee Curtis. The first movie set up what could have been an incredible trilogy but ended the worst possible way any Halloween fan wanted it to end. Taking Michael Myers out of the movie for over an hour while showcasing some deranged and traumatized teenager as a new Michael Myers, all while ruining another brilliant character in Allison to "burn it all" (whatever that meant).
I knew immediately after the 1st scene with the kids dying ( which has absolutely nothing to do with the premise of the trilogy) thay they were gonna take this in a different direction and boy did it fail.
