Agreed, I came in this movie expecting Myers to go on a murder rampage for 2 hours not some copy cat. And it sucks that we get a really good Michael Myers (best in the franchise imo) and they turn him into a old homeless person who lives in the sewers and has 3 and a half seconds of screentime

Yup Laurie prepared her entire life to end Myers and you'd think her only daughter dying would make her go crazy and fully focus on ending him and have that fully consume her life but nah she goes full baking you a pie granny mode
Well I can make a counter argument to that because Michael Myers was weak and beaten down to the pulp after the events of Halloween 2018 and Halloween Kills, and also the fact that he’s getting older, his physicality’s not going to be superior compared to his young years as a killer. The reason why Corey had the upper hand and got away with his mask is because Michael didn’t have his knife or any other weapon, otherwise he would’ve had the upper hand and kill him if he wanted to. What really disappointed me (outside of Michael not being featured much in the movie) was that in the previous film, he was portrayed as such an unstoppable force -- as if he had just been reborn into an even stronger villain. If you recall earlier in the movie, he was outnumbered by the firemen, yet he took them out with ease. At the end of the movie, he was confronted by a mob of people from the town who attacked him with bats, knives, guns, etc, and it appeared that they successfully subdued him. And then suddenly, he gets up and kills everyone of them one by one -- that was the most dominant that I had ever seen him in any of the installments. For this movie, I had assumed that they were going to build off of the uber-supremacy that Michael had demonstrated in the previous film, but to my surprise, he was very tame in this movie. Yes, he still killed people, but it just didn't seem like the Michael Myers of old.
Exactly what I was thinking. They made him look weak in the third one compared to an unstoppable force in the last one. The third movie just made no sense with the choices the director made. You never end a trilogy with new characters and story but continue where you left off.
The reason they hinted that evil/the devil is transferred into Corey and then into Allyson is because Michael the host is getting old and the devil/evil presence needs to find another host. Corey was chosen but failed so Allyson is the killer in the next movie.

I don't think this movie was fail if you pay attention it's like it's leading up to a fourth movie. I think they purposely made this movie to confuse people.
They did wrap it up. Allyson is the new killer. This movie was about Michael transferring the evil/devil into a disciple. He chose Corey and Corey slept with Allyson transferring the evil into her. Since Michael and Corey both died, Allyson is the new killer in the next installment of the franchise.
@@John-kv7jo Nah man. Michael’s mask was left sitting on the table as Allyson drove away. The mask is the key, and she didn’t take it with her. She won’t be the next killer, but rather the new “Laurie” who returns to fight the new Shape.
@@courtneyblue15 The mask has nothing to do with the killer. It is the spirit in the person. The mask is just to hide one's face. The spirit was transferred into Allyson though sex. She is now the new killer. Remember what the spirit said? "If I can't have her no one will".

Should’ve just made this an anthology film called “Haddonfield” or something and just not have Michael at all. It would just be the town being cursed by the evil Michael brought to it and just have evil latch onto Corey through him getting harassed and bullied.
That’s the entire point of the Shape. Evil can take on many forms and it took on the form of Michael and eventually it would be Corey. You’ll think that’s what the entire film was leading up towards to future films.
This movie is the greatest atrocity in horror movie history. Im still fuming that we got screwed out of seeing the best version of Michael Myers ever (James Jude Courtney) one last time. Next time get an actual fan of Halloween/Michael Myers to direct the movie because this movie is infuriating the way they portrayed Michael. And Corey looks like a little kid dressed up in his daddy’s suit when he puts on the mask and overalls. I can’t take a 5’9” shrimp seriously as Michael. Whatever is in Michael cannot just jump around into someone else. Takes away from the uniqueness of Michael.
@@mysterion3182 Jason has quite a bit of jokes used in his films. Mostly his physical comedy and use of physical body language to show what he's thinking.
I agree with your take, they could have had Corey and Michael fight Allyson and Laurie. In the struggle, Corey and Michael mortally wound each other while trying to kill Laurie. Michael could have died definitively, while Corey's wound could have been more open ended as to whether or not he survived. Boom, hand off 'Halloween: The Shape' as another series for Corey and Allyson to continue the saga. The writers need to grow a pair.
I even like if Corey was around in 2018 and/or Kills and we saw him be weak and bullied and slowly begins to lose it. Then after Michael dies in Ends...we get one last scene where then Corey is babysitting the kid and kills the kid and that's how the movie ends...which then could lead to a next film where Corey's saga begins when he gets off for the killing and the town hates him and then he fully loses it and becomes a killer that wears a scarecrow mask.
I hear what you’re saying, but if they did it the way you outlined, the public would deem it as just a money grab as most franchises are left open-ended for that purpose
@@MarkAHouston how is that dumb that would’ve been awesome what are you even talking about? Why don’t you just keep your idiot opinions to yourself and don’t tell people what to say goofy boy
Didn't the writers of this new Trilogy say that they didn't want to do a Michael Myers that was connected to Laurie or had any Supernatural ability🤔🤔🤔 I guess they backed themselves into a corner and had to revert to the powers of Mikey😂
Rob Zombie was the only that made a normal human (a sick in the head psychotic human lol) Michael Myers worked. His Michael was flesh and blood (which is way more scary imo) and he was evil but he didn't have any supernatural stuff, he was a just a man moved by wrath and high adrenaline levels and he was a really good stalker and intimidating as hell too. And it had high stakes cos he could die at any moment from a headshot or blood loss. And that gave some dope ass moments actually like Michael blocking melee attacks and using a guard as a human shield. In the others movies there's no such a thing as high stakes because Myers is invincible so you know that nothing going to happen to him. Except in Halloween 6 where gets stopped bye a little rock lol And that's just me but... Being invincible doesn't = Scary
Michael Myers didn't have any Supernatural Abilities in Ends. Michael was never Immortal period in any of these movies. Michael died simply from getting his Throat and Wrist Slit open.
corey's kills were savage i was expecting him to be the new michael . having him as basically the protagonist for the whole movie then killing him off makes no sense but i think the studios afraid to change who michael myers is
@@John-kv7jo Just because the director hinted at it dosen't mean it's a good movie, by that logic H6 would be a good movie for explaining all the crap that Halloween 5 introduced.
This should've occured on the same night as Halloween Kills, with Michael at his new powerful height, but damaged, with Allyson and injured Laurie scavenging for him, maybe even Hawkins involved, or hell, what about that Sheriff guy? What happened to him? Just no new characters introduced at all. There's a showdown and all of the characters gets their own plot resolutions - Hawkin's saves a cop (maybe the sheriff guy?) from Michael, thus redeeming the guilt of killing his own all of those years ago, Allyson gets revenge for her friend's and mother's deaths, and Laurie dies along with Michael, who takes her down with him. Allyson leaves Haddonfield and the town finally begins to heal from Michael Myers. Halloween ends. Done. If they want to tease us with future releases, then have Michael's mask being taken from the final showdown crime scene or something... Also, side note: It's bizarre that Laurie was some paranoid schizo after 20-40 years with Michael clearly locked up in an asylum in Halloween 2018, yet perfectly rational and coping with Michael still at large after 4 years. It doesn't make sense.
It’s definitely 2 movies in one. The Corey story could’ve made for an interesting installment as a middle chapter somewhere, but not as the finale. Once it gets to Michael V Laurie, all that Corey stuff is completely irrelevant, just filled up the movie to get to that final battle between these 2 because they didn’t know what else to fill the movie with. They just knew they needed to have a final battle and needed whatever the hell they could think of to fill the time beforehand.
I was so excited for this film. Holy SHIT was it bad. So many ways to have done this better, but easiest (if they wanted to go this route). Corey vs. Allyson and Lauire vs. Michael. In the end, Allyson and Laurie win with Michael finally dying (like this film), but Corey escapes or survives, mirrioring Halloween '78. He is the new Shape and Allyson's bane. THE END.
The director hinted that Allyson is the next killer. This movie was about Michael transferring the evil/devil into a disciple. He chose Corey but remember Corey slept with Allyson thereby transferring the evil/devil into her. Since both Michael and Corey died, Allyson is new killer in the next installment of the franchise.
I mostly agree with you. It felt like the Laurie vs Michael thing was from a completely different movie because they killed off the main antagonist early. And they spend all that time building up Corey for Laurie to dispatch him immediately and Michael just finishes him off nonchalantly. Definitely applaud them for trying something new but it didn't all hit.

Love the video. I’m a lifelong Halloween fan. Seen every movie 20+ times (even Halloween 6 which is saying something lol). I don’t see how they could make Michael so strong in Halloween Kills and then just 4 years later he’s a weak old man? Also, the whole Laurie strode moving on and just being a grandma made no sense to me because she knew Michael was still out there and he killed her daughter. In Halloween 2018 Laurie was hell bent on creating an environment where she could have the upper hand to kill Michael if he escaped from prison and now she’s made piece with it and is just being a grandma when she knows he’s still out there?? Those parts made no sense to me. I enjoyed your review, you should do a review of Halloween 2018 and kills.
This movie was all about Michael finding a worthy successor as he is getting old and will die. The devil/spirit/evil what you will needs to find another host. Michael chose Corey and transferred the devil into him. Later Corey slept with Allyson transferring the same devil into her. Since Michael and Corey both died at the end, Allyson is the new killer in the next installment of the franchise.
Halloween ends is so disrespectful. I've commented a few times, and as I said, one would like to take all the rolls of film and symbolically put them in a scrap press. When I saw Michael Myers in the sewers in the movie it made me think of IT Pennywise and if Michael Myers could talk he would say Corey do you want to fly too? We all fly with you here😅😊 Just stupid and I knew from the start that Jamie Lee Curtis doesn't like horror movies and I don't like this Franchise Halloween ends from David Gordon Green.
Dude this was easily the dumbest Halloween movie. I was pissed about it. Story was complete crap. It was like they could not figure out what direction they wanted to go with it. Great vid BT!!
Felt more like an angst filled teen love drama than a Halloween/Michael Myers film. Weird as hell, indeed. Pretty sure they intentionally gave the finger to the fans as they were gloating and so proud of the fact that this last installment "will piss a lot of people off".
Micheal spreading hatred was pretty cool and kinda terrifying. Corey could have put the mask on again in an end credit with heavy breathing, or maybe Corey would be a mental institute, or on the run in a scene killing someone. The worst slasher ending has to be the newest texas chainsaw massacre.
I thought it was great up until they kill Corey. I think Corey was going to be the new Boogeyman so to speak. I said this on Twitter but I think this has to do with Blumhouse losing the rights. They couldn't get a deal to renew the rights to Halloween. So when they realized they couldn't, it went through a rewrite and this was the result. It's kind of what I've settled on in my mind unless they come out to say something to the contrary. I thought Corey being the successor was going to be the end result and Allyson was going to be the new Laurie. Because they can't continue what they started due to losing the rights, it makes no sense then to make successors. No matter how cool it would have been. So much potential.
I didn't know about them loosing rights thats crazy, but I do agree with you i thought the same thing with Corey being the new boogeyman, completely missed opportunity
They lost the rights? Thank goodness! Maybe someone with a good sense of writing will acquire the rights now, and do the Halloween films justice again!
Apearantly they making the movie before COVID hit and then came back to it after with rewrites and reshoots. Still doesn't excuse it being this bad tho
In a year of watching TH-cam reviews and commentary on this movie, you are the first person to mention that his hand was healing. I noticed it on my first viewing and thought I was the only one!
Best thing about the movie was how long it took gravity to take hold of the kid falling and then he pops back up in frame like whack-a-mole. Hands down the most memorable moment. Well, that and how ridiculously weak Mike was in comparison to the woman. It was all a jumble of bullshit because they spent way too much time through the years with their social narrative themes. So they just ended it with a weak feeble man who was nothing to a strong woman who overcame life's adversities caused by the bad man.
"Evil ends tonight" Dawg you've been saying this for like the past 3 years and it hasn't happened yet, the only thing you're ending is your braincells and brain wrinkles
Writer: "Let's make it where anyone can be Michael, he's just a guy in a mask" Producers: "You mean like they did in The Dark Knight batman series"? Writer: ..."Michael dies and everyone goes home happy"
I think this film could have been much better if we got the original Halloween Ends, and this be an 4th film with Michael being a hallucinations for Corey
A better ending wouldve been:Allison leaves.Corey “kills himself” and “stays dead”.Michael arrives and fights Laurie.Laurie kills Michael but then Corey pops out of nowhere and kills Laurie.Allison arrives and finds them both dead.Final shot Corey descending into the sewers.
I mostly agree with your take, more so than any other post film “review”. Part of me missed Michael in this whole fucking film but also part of me got into the idea of evil taking a different shape. I actually thought they were being clever by this but you’re absolutely right they fucked the ending hard. I get what they were trying to do and they did say this would be the final movie, at least for Blumhouse, and they wanted an ending. If that were true then 80% of this movie shouldn’t have even taken place. Just disappointed in the delivery of what could have been a great saga of horror.
nobody cares about Corey, nobody cares about his downfall, nobody cares about the "society making him evil". We just wanted Michael's story to end or progress in a coherent and interesting way.
The end of kills makes absolutely no sense for ENDS.... The community turned on Laurie even her grand daughter, they brought some curls headed dork in to bully myers for the next hour and half for then Michael to grow a pair and finish corey off and be completely dominated by a 65 year old woman. The movie is absolutely DIABOLICAL The last movie of the franchise and this is the best they could come up with, surely Green knew the public would freak out, he deserves all the backlash and more, thanks for absolutely NOTHING!!!
As the ending was unfolding I was really hooping Michael was going to come in kill Corey and Michael kills Laurie then Alison comes and murders Michael leaving her with nothing and then she puts on the mask. Would have been cool for someone so close to Laurie turn out like that also we did get the shot of her with the knife at the end of the 2018 Halloween.
They hinted at a new killer. The killer was hidden in plain sight at the end. When Lori gives her monologue she says that there are new beginnings where you see Allyson driving away. This is a dual meaning. Allyson is starting again and she is the next killer carrying the devil of Michael Myers. How was this hinted? We see her making statements to her boyfriend burn it to the ground. Also note when Allyson and her boyfriend make love, the devil in him is transferred into her. So we see a progression. Michael transfers the devil in him into Corey and then Corey transfers that devil into Allyson. The reason Michael killed Corey in the end is that the devil had found another host who was more worthy than Corey. Note that in the end scene where she helps her mother kill Michael, she has great strength that she has never had before so much so that she is able to break Michael's arm. Allyson is the next killer.
At the end of halloween kills Laurie was pissed off and ready to take on Michael for killing her daughter. The beginning of halloween ends Laurie was not even interested in finding him
This movie was total garbage from start to finish. The only thing worse are the excuses some ppl make to justify it. Ppl are literally making up their own facts just to justify it. That should tell you something.
I didnt like how 45 minutes in we barely see Micheal and it focuses on a completely new character instead. 😂 This was how they were sending the Micheal Myers character off into the sunset so lame. For me its a 2 out of 10 stars. I could go on and on.
I think the reason Michael does what he does to Corey at the beginning is is to see if Corey can bring other people in for Michael to kill and regain his power & strength. In Halloween Kills, Laurie states "The more he kills, the more he transcends". The movie makes sense from that point having Michael being in the storm drain/sewer area. I wish we got some context as to why he ended up there. All we can really assume is he wasn't able to kill anyone even tho he killed all those people at the end of kills. So the 4 year wait is something that needs explaining. I do agree the duo showdown could have been a way to go, potentially leaving Corey as a survivor to lead into it's own spinoff or some sort of continuation with him as the main protagonist/new Michael Myers. That hand to hand combat between Corey and Michael was pretty cool to see. Throwin eachother around was kinda funny but very interesting because we've never seen anything like that before. IK in Resurrection, Busta gets some kicks in on Michael but Michael still had his full strength. He didnt have his full strength here. I did enjoy the character development for Corey. The movie imo was good overall. It did feel kinda weak at the end but it's not the worst way it could have concluded I suppose. At least it was better than Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers & Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers. Also, it had better acting decisions than what was scripted in Halloween Kills. For instance, when Lonnie goes into the Myers house by himself, that alone was a retarded decision. Not to mention the fact that he fucking knocked on the front door. another one right there. And then Alison and Cameron hear the gunshot and go in and they hear the music Michael turns on with the record player. Cause that's completely normal. And also they didnt stick together. That was frustrating to watch. At least for Halloween Ends, there wasn't too much of that going on. Halloween Ends I think is my favorite film in the series. At least we can ALL agree that it wasn't as bad as any of the COD games that have released since MW2019.

I think you explained exactly how I felt about it, they ruined a completely new cash cow by killing Cory off, I woulda been way more inclined to watch a spin off, 70 percent of the movie was pointless
I am also very disappointed in the film and most of all in Jamie Lee Curtis. I hope it's a flop and it really doesn't have much to do with the Michael Myers cult. I grew up watching the movies and I hate this Halloween Ends script. I compare it to Terminator and I would prefer the actress to Jamie Lee Curtis because she appreciates the role of the cult Terminator more. I know the interviews of both actresses and was also initially a fan of Jamie Lee Curtis but she often has something to criticize and I think she worked a lot on this script and I'm angry because Michael Myers wasn't the main character but Jamie Lee Curtis and She didn't like the acting role in the first Halloween film and even in Halloween 20 years later she felt fooled that the films continued and she killed the wrong person but she did it for money and I would have preferred she had gotten out before but she's really a good actress. It give a Petition for Halloween ends. Im for Michael Myers.
I care about this movie so much that I'm planning to edit it and try to fully remove Corey's character and the romance and focus more on Micheal Myers. The fans deserved better and that was either introduce the new character much early on in the other films or not have him at all.
Michael doesn't imbue Corey with evil, evil within Michael resonates and identifies with the evil that's growing in Corey; and with that notion Michael let's Corey live because he is supposed to be the next shape successor.
I think it´s great to hear your opinion on movies. It takes me back to your watch partys (such a great time) and i think its a nice change of pace. keep it up ^^
You CANNOT kill Michael. I feel like there HAS to be a way to end the story without killing the “unkillable”. Be more creative than that. Maybe find a way to trap him so that he never ever escapes, but still remains living. I’m definitely biased because I’m a massive Michael fan, but truly… you create this monster character and part of the fear that went behind him was that he was essentially invincible. Lazy writing and completely dissatisfied with everything. Corey was bland and lackluster, could have been a separate film idea ENTIRELY, idk. You can’t replace Michael imo. Whole thing was incredibly dumb and a waste of 2 hours
Corey’s character totally fucking sucked and there was no need for him to be in the movie. Let’s make a Halloween movie and not put MM in it…..WTF????? Was he hiding in the sewer to avoid Covid? Did he really need four years to recoup his powers? What bullshit and this movie killed the franchise. I love horror and I hope they never make another Halloween movie. Now we get to see David Green fuck up the exorcist. If he does, I hope he gets a visit from Pazuzu……
The problem is Halloween's history. This is the 4th continuity in its universe, but all that history just doesn't disappear from people's minds. They're adding new characters to build a story, but people want the original characters to showdown. I've loved the franchise since I was a kid in the 90s, and Ends wasn't a terrible movie, it was just disappointing. I think they've put themselves into a dangerous position because this is a weak way to end, but can they really reboot for a 5th time lol?
They nerfed Michael way to hard in this movie. Dialogue was beyond trash. Michael Myers is based off of the "Demon of Rage". Meaning if you are going to end it, then do it the right way🙄💯

That makes no sense her and Michael were always fighting
This movie doesn't fail in ideas, it fails in execution.
I disagree. I think the director hid the new killer in plain sight. She drove away in the end. :)
In fails in EVERYTHING
@@John-kv7joI agree even at the end when Laurie is typing on the computer "evil doesn't die it just changes shape".
I don't think this movie was fail if you pay attention it's like it's leading up to a fourth movie. I think they purposely made this movie to confuse people.
They couldn’t have wrapped things up in a worse way. I , as a true Halloween fan, was let down ENTIRELY!
They did wrap it up. Allyson is the new killer. This movie was about Michael transferring the evil/devil into a disciple. He chose Corey and Corey slept with Allyson transferring the evil into her. Since Michael and Corey both died, Allyson is the new killer in the next installment of the franchise.
Laurie finally got the bastard which was my only satisfaction.
@@John-kv7jo
Nah man.
@@John-kv7jo

Actually they hinted at a new killer. Allyson is the killer in the next movie.
When he pulled up on him and took his mask I was dying 😭😭😭
That was really funny 😂😭
Him crawling while Michael waited in the corner was historically hilarious
I can see how they would bring Michael back.
"Somehow Michael Myers returned"
I always thought Chucky, Jason, and Freddy Krueger were more funny than scary as a kid. But Michael Myers scared the shit out of me.
@tfs202 Chucky was the 1 who scared me the most as a kid.
How do you consider Jason funny? Chucky and Freddy I understand because they do use some comedy.

So dumb and completely pointless.
Exactly, but it was poorly executed.
No. The killer is now a woman. You see her driving away at the end.
It was poorly executed imo
Shit movie

Except in Halloween 6 where gets stopped bye a little rock lol
And that's just me but... Being invincible doesn't = Scary
Michael Myers didn't have any Supernatural Abilities in Ends. Michael was never Immortal period in any of these movies. Michael died simply from getting his Throat and Wrist Slit open.

The guy that got bullied by every stereotype n high school wrestled Michael Myers down & took his mask off smh. The junkyard scene was gr8
I would love this kind of video weekly even. Horror is my personal favorite genre especially for Netflix and chill

No horror, not scary, no Halloween wrap up. No good!
I mostly agree with you. It felt like the Laurie vs Michael thing was from a completely different movie because they killed off the main antagonist early.

The opening was the best part of the movie for me
Halloween ends is so disrespectful.

NOT ENOUGH MICHAEL MYERS. Simple as that. Terrible plot. Not enough HALLOWEEN THEME 🎃 Made no sense.
Felt more like an angst filled teen love drama than a Halloween/Michael Myers film. Weird as hell, indeed. Pretty sure they intentionally gave the finger to the fans as they were gloating and so proud of the fact that this last installment "will piss a lot of people off".
The movie is great. The director hinted at a new killer. You see her driving away at the end.
I was thinking Corey and Allyson were going to team up.
Apearantly they making the movie before COVID hit and then came back to it after with rewrites and reshoots. Still doesn't excuse it being this bad tho
That's a dumb ideal and we are happy rights reverted back. Michael shouldn't have a successor.

Yeah honestly the kid who plays Corey is the best part of the movie, great acting!
Maybe Joe Cecot wrote this movie 😅
There would've been more doors and safe spaces😭😭😭
It should’ve ended with Michael killing everyone and then disappearing into the night. THAT’S the boogeyman!

Seeing MM get deebo’d out his mask by Cory made me stop watching 😂
I deadass wanted to leave the theater midway through but wanted to see how bad it was gonna get
The end of kills makes absolutely no sense for ENDS....
@@TheyCallMe_TC yea so just like all the other Halloween movies 😌
They did Michael so bad, cutting him all over & on his wrist to make sure he’s really dead. Wtf!
My opinion he deserved it after all the people he has killed I love Halloween but I'm more on lori team

I actually enjoyed it. The same complaints about season of the witch are somewhat here too with michael not being involved. And i love the idea of michael getting a copycat killer altho corey can suck a fat one. If his character was written better it could be a cool idea. Michaels old and wounded, hes an actual human this time around so hes weakened. It makes sense for him to have a replacement. Just wish it was someone other than corey 😂
Michael is pure evil. It makes 0 sense for him to work with anyone.
@@johnsilver8682 it didnt feel like it was him working with someone. More so like he was transfering his self to him. It was pretty bad 😂😂😂 Michael Meyers spent most of the movie hiding in a sewer
So Michael kills a fire department, and a handful of people that are armed BUT he has a tough fight with Cory
It was a mismarketed disappointment. Feels like multiple scripts stitched together.

Im for Michael Myers.
i like this style of vid . you’re the man
I care about this movie so much that I'm planning to edit it and try to fully remove Corey's character and the romance and focus more on Micheal Myers. The fans deserved better and that was either introduce the new character much early on in the other films or not have him at all.
I'm glad you found some positives. I thought it was mostly terrible. It was supposed to be a sequel to Kills but wasn't which is why it failed
Michael doesn't imbue Corey with evil, evil within Michael resonates and identifies with the evil that's growing in Corey; and with that notion Michael let's Corey live because he is supposed to be the next shape successor.
I think it´s great to hear your opinion on movies. It takes me back to your watch partys (such a great time) and i think its a nice change of pace. keep it up ^^
A 7foot serial killer who cannot BE killed……was able to get taken down by a 5/12 foot kid.
I still can’t believe I witnessed this movie.
