Oh wow that’s amazing! I actually flew on UA747 the final flight United 747 flight from SFO to HNL. I have a bunch of super8 film footage from that trip that was only recently developed so I may actually make a video about that story, it was my favorite flight ever even though I was in economy. I do most of my flying with United, including my very first 747 flight, and I’m about 2/3 of a million miler. 😆
Isn’t the limousine/van transfer to the terminal in Frankfurt only available if the connecting plane is parked in a remote position and the rest of the passengers are transported by bus? They don’t offer any transfer if the plane gets the apron, I don’t think? But of course they will take you in a car from the First Class terminal to the plane.
Hi Jeff, Nice video! You should have gone to the Lufthansa First Class Terminal in Frankfurt to skip all the lines and get the limousine transfer. It is not very obvious because you have to exit the Terminal and walk by foot (still less than the transfer you made). Bonus: you get the Lufthansa rubber duck 😊
If I knew I would’ve had enough time I would have done that, next time I’ll start my trip in Frankfurt so I can enjoy the lounge. The Mrs collects rubber ducks too, bummer!
I've heard that Lufthansa is only releasing their first class award availability two or three days out. Did you wait for this and then book the flight last minute?
@@HDjeff it used to be 14 days out, but I hired the points dot me concierge and they denied my request and refunded me the money because they specifically told me they've (Lufthansa) only been releasing it two to three days out at most since this July.
I booked my Lufthansa first class on 747 with miles almost a year prior to departure but I believe you have to be a Miles&More member to be able to do it. Can’t wait for my first class from Frankfurt to Tokyo! Only 10 months to go! ;)))) I hope the waiting won’t turn out to be better than the real thing ;D

You should have booked a longer connection in Frankfurt so you can go to the First Class Terminal!! I hope you get to re-do this trip with the proper First Class Terminal experience in Frankfurt.

Yes, I actually just made a shorts video about that! The cheapest way to do it is to buy LifeMiles or Air Canada Aeroplan on sale, and they’re on sale right now with Avianca LifeMiles for about 1.4 cents per mile so from the US the total cost was $1250 to purchase miles and fly first class one way. I wouldn’t buy points until you’re ready to book because Lufthansa will usually only release first class awards a couple weeks out so it depends on how much demand there is for first on your flight.

@jamesmoninger1982 I know some airlines reserve it for their top customers, just a little prestige I guess goes along with having the first seat on the plane.
I am on the LH760 FRA-DEL on Thursday in F, transiting on to BKK: what paperwork did you need? I have done the Air Suvidha online form. Is there anything else?

That must be the case, I know they will take you from the lounge so I’ll definitely make sure I have enough time to stop there in the future.

I booked about a week prior, but either way I’ve only been able to find first class availability within a couple weeks.

Why is 1A the "best seat on the plane?" How is it different from 1K?
😂 I guess it doesn’t matter, just personal preference. You do get a better view leaving Frankfurt on the port side.

Yes they were downgraded shortly after I took the flight in May, I mentioned this at 13:46 and on the thumbnail.
